Graphics competitions

QUESTION:
If I started running weekly "Banner of the week" and perhaps monthly art competitions, would people enter? Could also extent to Wallpapers and website size banners and stuff.

I guess I'd run it like so:
~Come up with some contraints:
e.g. width, length etc.
~Run it over the course of 5 days, then have voting for perhaps 2 days after that.
~Each week has a certain criteria/subject:
e.g. FFX, The colour yellow, landscapes etc.

Been thinking about stuff like this for a while, but it wouldn't be any good if nobody entered >_>

Subject would be good but the width, length, etc. thingies aren't good
for me and criterias aren't also good for me. I'd enter if there will be one.
I already created 3 GFX Competitions(2 GFX Competitions, 1 SotW) but no
one entered so I think there would be few that will enter but let's wait
what will happen.

Also, I think something like this would help many people elevate in their gfx skills.

Oh well, seems like we could get a couple of people entering, I'll come up with some idea for the first one tomorow at school. Since it's the beginning of November now maybe a monthly art competition too.

Akabane, tough, O_O to be able to get all you need to express your sig in a certain width/length is also a skill, so do it!

I mean what if a forum has size regulations on signature size, then what? D: huh? :O eggzacly.

And with Criteria, I agree with criteria, this will help improve our skill and thoughts. Instead of just making randoms igs we have to conform to a set idea, sometime's thats the way things gare and it's harder to create like that, I want to see what people come up with when given a set idea to work on.

Hmm...I didn't think about that, sorry. Prizes should also vary, gils, renders,
or other GFX resources, items(if possible). Let's see....votings/nominations by other members(entrants are not allowed) or judging by judges?

As for awards? Hmm, maybe a little image that you can have in your signature, and gil rewards I can manage, sure. Something like...
1st place: 500gil
2nd place: 300gil
3rd place: 100gil

Or something like that.

I wouldn't join weekly, too lazy for that, xD. Maybe rather a montly GFX competition and as for Photography, I dunno anyone else besides me and Chris who would enter, but some people may take random snapshots that happen to look good lol. Though I only have stuff since my holiday to Cambodia, so i'd have to enter old photos.

Thing is, if its just photos and signature graphics, its kinda restricting, unless I've read the thread wrong, but photomanips, traditional art... everything should be considered I guess.
