They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.

Yup Rememberance Day is always an important time that should be well-marked. Glad we got a thread open about it.
Maxine's phone went off in our minute's silence.
Other than that, yay for rememberance day! But... I can never remember, is it WWI or II we're remembering?

I don't think it matters to be honest. It's probably both wars...although my mind is ticking that it's WWI for some reason.

And every serviceman killed in the line of duty since then as well

Oh right. Well it makes sense to remember every hero after all. Their children should be proud, as the country is.
It really annoys me when you're having it and there is always one person who thinks they're big and clever by trying to make someone whos with them laugh its so immature and disrespectful. But this year no one did it, im glad we seem mature enough not to stoop so damn low.
One of the most losses/bloodiest in WWI is the battle of le sommes
We had a big ceremony for this (usually just a minute silence I think) since now at our school there's this "memorial" (I forget what for, I think just honouring all those people) and some "official party" came (we had like this ceremony out on the ovals where it was like fuggin' hot) and like these two army dudes (prob. some high rank or something, I know one was who talked 'bout his life). And then some people who do cadet school outside of school were yeah doing all that crap (xP) and stuff.
There was gun shooting, I thought a bomb had gone off, cause it was near the train station so yeah XD...then I found out what day it was.
I dunno why, but this is the first year I had forgotten about it, it seems my minds just too full atm @__@
anyway, at work we had a 2minutes silence/break XD

I am glad that we do have a rememberance day. Its a good time to remember about things that have happened and whatnot. *On a sidenote its also the time I get a day off from school!*
I am pretty sure that my girlfriends grandfather is a veteran and I think that he is glad that there is a rememberance day. We should remember the people who did fight in the wars and respect and look upto them for risking(and lots giving) their lives to protect us.
