Here's the thing.

Yesterday Aeyze sorted out the Mods and all that, which yeah, is fair enough. And I know in the rules it says that YOU, being the staff, choose the moderators. But personally, I disagree with that rule and I disagree with what happened yesterday.

No offense to the mods chosen, but it was not exactly fair. As moderators/smods/admins, you should know the members. But you don't, not at all. I know for a fact you don't know some of these members the way others do. If you did, your judgements would have been better..

Now before I say anything else, I am NOT wanting to be a mod myself, nor am I jealous. I'm angry though. I have a point and you're all going to listen.

What I want is a choice and a say. I'm not saying take back the moderators or change them, I know that's not happening. But next time, what about a vote? A vote between members.

Recently, it seems like HHN has been a dictatorship. Lead by Zidane and his Nazis. Now fine, fair enough. I know you're staff and you do your job.
But HHN is about members. The members make the forum. So why are the members not having a say AT ALL in who is getting promoted to mods? HHN is SUPPOSED to be a Democracy, for ***cks sake. That's what WE want. We want a say. We want to be able to choose who leads us. If we say we don't agree with something, it should be taken into account.

Speaking for the majority of members here, we love HHN, it's our home. Sure we could just "leave." But why would we just leave if it is our forum home, a place we've grown attached to. But we shouldnt have to not be able to have our say, which I think is what is happening at the moment. And it's going to continue to happen until someone does something about it, which is my point. If I didn't say something like this, someone else will.

And we will keep doing it until our opinions are taken into consideration and something is done.

If we can help choose the forum style and make other exceptions, how are the mods any different? We want a vote, please.

If anyone knows the members, the members know the members. So I don't know what's going on, but it's like tagging them, which pisses me right off. "He's not active enough." "He's not suitable." When you're so damn wrong about these people. You're not even giving some a CHANCE they deserve!!!
I wasn't going to bring specific names into this? But why isn't Hender becoming a mod? E V E R Y member believes he has so much potential. He deserves it, unlike some. I'm not saying it because he's my friend, I want my opinion and everyone elses taken into consideration cause I'm sick to death of this shit. Oh, and he's not inactive, just for the record. He's more active than the majority of the mods/smods at the moment. Anyone who knows hender would see how he's ALWAYS been here for HHN, unlike some. So just listen to us members, we want who WE want as mods, it's not pathetic or "weird" or us taking over, we want a vote about these things, as it's affecting us and we have a right. Poor modship pisses us off.

Some members would make these perfect mods, but i hardly see them even being given more than a slight mention. It's NOT fair and it needs to change. It's as if people believe they are above the members or something, that because they are mods they can make decisions and judgements which aren't true. Y'know what, none of it even makes sense. The mods work for the members, without the members HHN would be NOTHING. We shouldn't be treat like this and I'm sure many more members will agree with me.

So yeah, don't ignore this or tell me to shut up, because I won't listen and anyone who feels the same won't either. As a member of HHN, I want something done about the DICTATORSHIP you call a forum, thank you.

Well piss on my grave and call me Nancy. Lei there has more than one valid point and this WILL be dealt with cause personally I'm sick of it. Like she says, if HHN was supposed to be about the members how come Aeyze there has selected the mods herself?

I'm guessing the HHN Awards will be rigged to your liking too, yes? Now I don't care how she chose her "mods" but personally, I think she could have at least been less biased. By all means, sort it because we're your members and we are the ones you should be listening to. You make the forums rules not our choices.

Hender for mod, he's done more for HHN than ANYONE here. Even Ziddy.

And, I think some mods should get to know us before making an opinion and then choosing their favourite little people to be mods.

I agree with the vote thing, that's how it's done on quite a few places I know of, it's the best way really coz then the ones suited for the job are picked and not some-ones friend and so on.

I know im new here so I don't know much of the mods, hence why im only commenting on the vote thing, so mods please don't come and have a go at the newbie showing his opinion

Niiro, everyone is allowed to post their opinion, whether it goes against what the masses believe or not, and no matter how long they have been at HHN. Never let anything stop you from voicing your opinion.
Now I do see your point with the mass-voting, Lei, that's a good idea. I also think that people should vote who they think would do the best job though, and not who they like (NOT saying that you guys would do different :P just making a point). though in all honesty I don't think a dictatorship is a right word, that's kinda harsh isn't it? I can't speak for other people but I am sure that Zids, Frosty, and the rest would be more than open to your suggestions.

Yeah, thanks. I agree my words were harsh and I apologise for them being that way, it wasn't the right way to get my opinion across, but apart from that, I obviously stand by what I said. :)

Of course. Just saying though, stuff like calling HHN a "dictatorship", and the staff (not saying it cause I am part of the staff myself, lol :P) "Zidane and his nazis" is not really fair and is more likely to get a defensive response & more likely to cause an argument than solve a problem, that's all, I agree with your idea though. but I think we're all pretty down to earth people here and we can work things out I'm sure.

Erm im not going to say anything really on this subject since i was one of the main people who was mentioned, so im going to stay quiet cause i dont want to come across making people think im big headed. But I will say this. I feel really honoured to know that at least a few of me think iwould be good enough to be a mod i wont say i dont want to be a mod of HHN because i do but unfortunatly it isn't for me to decide whether i become one or not, but i feel I would like to be a mod to give something abck to the place that I have called my home for almost two years.

hahah unfortunatly in my experience, almost every thread like this always turns ugly in the end. Although it would be nice to just have a mutual peaceful agreement here.

I never really did take a huge notice on this, because I never wanted to be an admin and all that, so I took less notice, but Lei does indeed have a strong point there, and I don't think I'll ignore it :P I'll have to agree with what Lei said, having a mass vote would make it alot better in my perspective. I myself would seriously consider this, what she is trying to bring across, her statement has a firm point, it does. I'm gonna agree with everyone on this, I am. Yep. =P

We took many people into consideration, and Hideto's name came up a few times. I don't remember the specific reason he wasn't picked but I vouched for him.

I think you made a valid point, Lei, but you put it across very harshly.

Personally I feel we shouldn't need to get to know you to see whether or not you are a probably candidate for a moderator, we can see pretty well by your presence and attitude on the board whether or not we think you would make a decent moderator. In the end when it comes down to moderation there are a set of rules and moderatorsmust adhere need to be fair and to do what's best for the board and it's members, and that's all that's needed really.

Now we at HHN are blessed, there are so many people who could be successful candidates for moderators, and the few who were picked we feel will do a good job. I'm sorry you feel different to that, but I do n't agree a vote is fair. As most voting is anonymous, we don't want people to just vote for their friends, or people to vote for someone who doesn't really deserve it.

I know it's fascist and like a dictatorship for us to make the decisions and to be the only people who really get to have our opinions heard on the mdoerator matter (in the staff forum) but as moderators/admins we are fair, and we do take the time to look at peoples attitude and other things that make good for moderatorship on the boards, and we take this into account. So please don't feel that we're being unfair, we are as fair as we can be.

Someone once made the point to me that this is not a forum of free speech (back when I went crazy and started to flame a lot and voice my opinion.) but this forum is owned by Zidane0077nl, as much as we'd like it to be it's not a democracy.

We do let members voice their opinion, we do let them have their say. I know a lot of forums who have a no tolerance ons peaking out against the forum staff, but we're very tolerant with it here at HHN, and thats what makes us a good forum.

Please try to see this from our point of view. I'm sorry if you disagree with what I have said here but that's the way the forum is. Who knows, it may change now you've made the decision, but right now this is how it is, and we hope you can be happy with the decisions we've made. So far we've recieved no complaints on the moderators.

Did you read Lei's first post man? It's a complaint on how the moderators were selected, Lei stated herself she wasn't unhappy with who was picked, and thats what I was referring to.

That's a fair call, I won't dispute it. Picking staff makes a person feel like crap for all the choices you have to make.

I didn't select the mods myself either, we have a short list, there were several other names on my list to send PM's out too, but I'm an incredibly slow and lazy person (as I constantly preach =D ) And I didn't get around to it.

Removing totally inactive moderators is easy, adding new ones is always hard because not everyone can be a moderator. If you guys want, I'll take Midnight and Dark Kaede off and there can be a voting system. Not sure how the shortlist would work though, perhaps people can PM me with reasons why they'd want to be a moderator and so on and so on, get added to a shortlist for voting on la-dee-da and all that. If you guys want that, I'll do it. I don't mind =)

I never talk to Midnight (not in a mean sense, I just... well, don't talk to her) And yes, I admit, Dark Kaede is a friend of mine, she has also been an S-mod on various other forums and has experience with the moderator commands.

EDIT: Just for another reference, Hender was on the list as well as others, but I was practically falling asleep taking inactive moerators off the list. My sleep cycle is totally fuggled up after being ill ;_;

No Dalton, almost everyone agreed that Dark Kaede and Midnight were good candidates for moderators.

Even I said they would be good moderators. As did Zidane, Krytikal, and Mirae.

It was a joint decision. Aeyze was just the one that put it into action because she was tired of no action being taken to sort out the staff list.

SUGGESTION:

PM me with suggestions for moderators. Or perhaps even better, PM me if you want to be a moderator (you in a general sense, not just you Dalton >=P)

And to make sure I'm not overwhelmed by PM's xD (My PM inbox can only take so much) Add in some reasons as to why you should be picked over everyone else. How about I do that over... I dunno? The weekend or maybe longer (depening on the number of replies I get) and I'll shove up a little thread with voting choices and the reasons people PM'd me.

She's mature, she's got experience, and she has done her best to contribute to this community, I know you and other peopel don't agree, but she is one of the best members of HHN and she does contribute.

And yes you are a spammer, no offense, this is a personal thing for me,not a moderator thing but I'm offended how you keep coming up with these opinions of yours, it's like you're hounding us and it's very unfair. Please read my post carefully as it is the honest to god truth. That's the way the forum is, it's privately owned by Ziadne007nl, that makes it more a dictatorship than a democracy, but you have to be honest we are very fair with our members. You pull stunts like this on another forum, you can get banned without warning. I think that says something about how fair we are around here.
