Mortal Kombat: Deception

So does anyone else have or played this game? It's been out for like a year now (I think) but yeah I only got it today and it's a pretty cool game. Haven't played a fighting game on awhile (DOA3 got boring lol) or an MK game for that matter. Too bad the only people I remember are Raiden, Sub-Zero and Scorpion (SZ looks weird now, with all this "extra" armor/clothing). Anyway I played the Arcade got up to the dude who's at 45% difficulty and stopped after losing two matches to him (hey i'm still gettin' the hang of it =P) and then I tried Konquest mode. I'm up to the last Training school or technically the 2nd last school (since the one at the end is like the test or something). Yeah i'm not that great at it so far, but i'll get better, xD.

Its fairly difficult to remember all the combo's with all the characters. Especially the ones that changing fighting styles. But I think that overall the game is cool. Sub Zero's alternate costume is better it lacks alot of the armor...but he looks equally as weird.

Yeah I struggle to remember many of the combos, since some of them are long but if you play it for awhile and kind of "master" it, you don't exactly need to remember the combos off my heart. Since most of the big ones are just different kind of attacks (eg. Power Attacks) combined together, some combos you do a combo in one fighting style then immediately change to the next and then do a combo there.
What is Sub-Zero's alternative costume? Is it just his old one which you see in the other games and everything or like similar but it's somewhat different? And though the main one looks weird (in Deception that is), it does still kind of look somewhat cool. Makes him look like an Ice King or something, xD.

He's really weird in his alternate...let me see if I can find a picture of it, He's got this weird hair, and only half of his mask.

Nah it's cool dude, I've seen his alternate costume (I didn't unlock it, I just unlocked his Alternate Bio so I saw the picture of him there lol). And yeah it does look kind of weird, his costume is somewhat similar to the original costume with a few changes (I think) and then he's only got the lower half of his mask and he looks kind of bold. I've also seen Scorpion's alternate costume and it's very similar to the old one, well pretty much the same actually. Have you liked unlocked everything yet Deknor? I've only made up to 50% on Arcade, I gave up after two tries of trying to kill whoever-it-was xP. On Konquest, i've arrived at Netherrealm (or whatever it's called) and i've just talked to alot of people + gather some koins and open some chests. OMG I SAW SHINNOK! RUN! xD. And screw him i'm not going to him the Amulet if I find it and oooo Jarek was there too! I'll do his quest though xD. The first MK's were so cheap when they made Ermac and Reptile, they were basically the exact same as Sub-Zero and Scorpion, except Ermac was red/black and Reptile was green/black. Though after they changed' em and made them different xP. I've also unlocked Kenshi (and as for Puzzle Kombat i've unlocked like two or three people) and Chesss Kombat is WEIRD. lol.

Chess Kombat is odd, and Puzzle combat is fun. I've unlocked everything, all costumes all art, all videos. It took forever but I did it. I think some of my favorite things are the alternate costumes, some of them are really cool, and some are...not so cool...but still!!! :) In arcade mode I've beaten it with every character (took some time!) And Konquest I've beaten once, just to get Shujinko :)

What happens when you win Arcade mode with every char. ? Do you unlock their ending and do you win any koins (like for a bonus since you beat Arcade) and what do you get from Konquest when you win other than Shujinko? What moves do you get to use? The ones he had at the beginning of Konquest Mode or what? Btw, you know how at the intro cinematic how he basically says it's his fault that the Dragon King or something was back again (or something along those lines), what does he mean or what did he do (i'm guessing you get to see it in Konquest but I can't wait, xD). I'm up to Realm of Chaos, but I might go back to Netherrealm since there's like two quests I wanna finish (Nightwolf and Jarek) and btw if you punch Shinnok, what happens? (yeah so MANY questions) lol.
Yeah Puzzle Kombat is awesome, xP. And man, unlocked EVERYTHING? O_o That's alot of crap right there and by the way how does Noob Smoke work? I unlocked his costume and didn't see him when I tried it in Arcade (like I couldn't select his char.) cause like Noob (xD) Smoke is two people right? So like how's that work. And it seems like we're the only MK fans or well the only ones who play/have Deception.

Honestly? Deadly Alliance poor character design, fighting system and pretty much everything else has put me off buying anything to do with Mortal Kombat again. I pretty much know all the characters moves in there and that, because if I buy a game I have to beat it even if it is shite..XD

Shame this thread is about Deception and not Deadly Alliance ;( But i'm guessing you mean both either way and what's wrong with the character designs and the fighting system? I mean as for character design they're not exactly a BIG thing for me and well they look fine, heck some even look cool =/ And as for the fighting system, what's wrong with that? You mean like the pop-up attacks, style changing combos, juggling moves and all that? Cause I don't see anything wrong with them (once more). Though (for me) some are a bit difficult to execute.

I think that the game is at a bit slower pace than I would prefer. But I still think the game mechanics and character designs are fine! :)

Me and my friend rented this, we didn't play for long but from what I played it was pretty good. I remember somehow ripping my friend's head off with some chick XD he was like,"wtf was that!" was pretty funny X D

I don't recommend it as a buying game, but I would definately rent it :)

Yeah because its not much different that Deadly Alliance. They did fix a few things by bring back the multiple fatalities,(one just isnt enough), But its just seems so stale. Theres nothing really new and inovative besides puzzle combat, which is addictive. Maybe next time Noob will give us a better game.

but stil it is the best MK game on ps2 . Konquest mode is also really funny the guy runs really fast and u can hit people.:)

I don't meditate much lol (used to in the beginning of Konquest mode) and sometimes when i'm about to talk to people I accidently press teh punch button and i'm like "awww... sh*t" xD. And the thing about meditating is that when you press stop, it stops like 5 - 10 seconds AFTER you press it lol.
