View Full Version : MK: Shaolin Monks
Awesome game, its one of my favorite MK games to date. The only down side is its fairly short and the amount of characters...The opening movie of the actual game is brilliant!!! And it makes me smile everytime I see Shang Tsung get kicked in the mouth...BLOOD!! Anyway, you start out in Goro's lair, which is awesome! and you battle your way to Shao Khans arena where you fight all sorts of baddies! Anyway, my favorite fatality is Kung Lao's buzzsaw..he spins his hat forward in place and he grabs their legs and pulls them towards the blade, and cuts them in half...BRILLIANT!! BLOOD!!...yep...^_^
Is the storyline based right after Deception? Cause I read someone that after Raiden's death he summoned two of the strongest Earthrealm warriors (or something like that) and they have to go do some crap to do destroy Onaga (might be wrong about this bit). Yeah I wanna get this game, but as of now I still need to finish Deception, xP. Also I read that it's like an adventure/RPG thing, you walk around and fight people instead of going into "Kombat Mode" =/
Yeah, its more adventure based, and no its set between MKI and MKII. :) You'd like it.
Oh I see. Well then what is the storyline of it then? And I mean like exactly, I read the storyline of MK recently but I forget what happens in each game xP. And I must be confusing what I said with the storyline of Deception or something, I dunno. And yeah from what i've seen it looks like a pretty awesome game. And is there any "Kombat Mode" when you fight? Or just plain ol' RPG style?
Its weird, its like adventure style. Not really RPG, not really fighting. Um...you can pretty much do fatalities at will...pretty much, you have a bar to fill. Um...anyway, you start out in the opening video in Shang Tsungs, throne room?, but there is a big fight there in the movie and then you end up in goro's lair. You learn everything you need down there, and then progress. You're on a conquest to stop Shang Tsung, but end up helping him because of some deception. And Liu Kang ends up kicking Kung Lou about a thousand times...lol...not really...like 3. And anyway, you defeat all the outworld generals and end up at the next tournament style thing in the arena of Shou Khan.
Right, that made alot of sense to me. </sarcasm> xD.
You have to play it to understand. I'm trying to tell you the story without giving away too much of the game. :P
Exactly. Only other downside is the repetativeness. Each character has one good combo so you just spam that a bunch.
Until you decide you just want to look cool, and try a bunch of cool things. Other than that yeah...you pretty much do the same moves over and over.
