View Full Version : Your Favourite Fighting Series?
So what is YOUR favourite fighting series? And by this I mostly mean the orignal arcade-style fighting, but I guess other styles count (like Adventure) though not alot of games which are like that are put under "fighting" anyway. Mine would definately be between Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, great classics. Though Soul Calibur (Nightmare & Spawn > All) and Dead or Alive (ZOMG, Kasumi and Ayane = HAWT. Oh and Hayabusa and Hayate are cool xD) are great games too, they just don't compare to SF and MK and as for Tekken and King of Fighters, I couldn't careless, xD. I dunno really, since both are REALLY great games and both have their awesome-nesses (lol). Like for SF Ryu is just awesome, I mostly play him and do his usual down, right/left+punch (forget the name) all the time, lol. Then there's MK which has an interesting and cool storyline plus Scorpion and Sub-Zero =/ So I might have to go with..... Mortal Kombat (for now anyway) since well RIGHT NOW it's my favourite fighting series since well i'm playing an MK game right now lol.
Dead or Alive series. Tekken was always too slow for me, never liked Mortal Kombat (No reason, just didn't like it). :P
Soul Calibur Series, with Soul Blade and all!! :) I also liked alot of 2D fighters, Darkstalkers, King Of Fighters, and all sorts of things. DOA is also awesome!! :)

I used to LOVE that game, got soul Calibur for the PS2 but it wasn't the same! =X
(Still annoyed at my brother from randomly throwing my Soul Blade out >.>)
My favourite is: Dead or Alive and Soul Calibur
Tekken is too slow, Street fighter is just boring, mortal kombat has lame character designs.
Dead or alive is fast-paced and just amazing, graphical-wise and gameplay-wise, love it when you can practically defend every attack and turn it into an attack of your own.
Soul Calibur has amazing stuff, graphical-wise and gameplay-wise, the weapon system really does add a difference to what many other fighting games have.
Tekken is good.:)

Although Tekken is not so much slow but...well, not great storyline wise. Street Fighter...the movie was good and Mortal Kombat is okay......used to love it but death moves really don't have that spark anymore I don't think.
Tekken is FAR too slow, I hate that game :D Dead or Alive Ftw, great game, fast and responsive, cool characters too =P Soul Calibur II is good fun as well

I like the games Team Ninja produces and DoA is a great arcade fighting game. Ninja Gaiden is by far the best thing they have made IMHO.
Soul Calibur come a close second though. Love the gameplay
Oh you people just like DoA cause of Kasumi, xD =P And Street Fighter... BORING? OH HOW DARE YOU KAEDE! I've only played Tekken (think it was 3 or 4) once and it was... okay... not THAT great and if it's not that great (well from your comments) then why is it so popular? (well as far as I know it is, xD). And come on Dale, you gotta love the fatalities =P Wow, no one voted SF or MK ;( WHAT HAS THE WORLD COME TO? Oh well they're pretty old games anyway (except for the latest MK games).

I think I played Street Fighter before, but that game tended to be a bit old for me rather fast... :P
Oh just because YOUR slow you have to play Street Fighter for being fast! xD. First it was that they were too slow, now it's that they're too fast? O_o
I use to love Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat in the 2D Days, (well, i still play 2D Games now) but the whole new look and feel of these games, is just really really..crap. Mortal Kombat has a horrible new fighting system, horrible disgusting character desgins.
Street Fighter just lost it's buzz for me, perhaps it's because I use to play it so much, that now it's so boring. They don't really introduce that many new characters. But I do think Chun-Li kicks ass, and I do play street fighter online.

Lmao yes xD Remember with the volleyball game? Just stood still whacking the ball over the net, not even doing anything xD And when you fought against Stephen...:P You just poked Gon's nose and Stephen kept dying rofl XD

I really liked Soul Calibur 2, and i'm not usually into fighting games, so i guess i'd have to say soul calibur.
