I am working on my own game and am wondering which are the best to program games with. Right now I am workin with Blitz which is a mix of C and BASIC, but it doesnt seem to be that great. I know C++ is really good and I am wondering what you guys think I should use. I know that I am goin to be using Java in the game as well.

well, I currently use Ruby, it's an old scripting language that can be found on games from the Mega Drive/Snes etc. I use it because I use rpg maker xp, so at the moment im like re-writing all the default scripts cause they are like..(c-r-a-p)

Ah I see. I started to design my game with RPG Maker XP Postaility Knights Edition Enhanced but I decided it would be better for me if I was able to completely make the game from scratch. I am most likely goin to go with a mix of Java and C++ but I might change that if somebody can suggest something better.

DarkBASIC Pro!!! My friends and I are using this to create our first game. It's much easier to use than something like C and gives good results.

Yeah, DB is great, but i still need Rai to give it to me! It's fairly simple to learn your way round, some of the code is similar to VB, except you add in 3D properties... Some of the stuff Lukeman's dad has churned out is FANTASTIC! I highly recommend DB!

Hmmmm seems faily nice. I would get it if I wasnt $360 in debt to my parents for phone bills and it didnt cost a ton for getting all the stuff(but thats understandable because it looks really sweet). There is the money I am saving up for a couple presents for my girlfriend but that I dont mind doing. Also for my first game its not going to be in 3D so that stuff is a bit over what I was looking for but if things dont work out soon with what I found then I might just go all out and turn it right into 3D which would seriously boost up its popularity once it is done.
