Yoichi Wada, the president of Square-Enix said in a recent interview with Reuters (http://www.reuters.co.jp/) that it's possible that Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest games will be released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Yoichi Wada didn't say anything about a possible Final Fantasy title on the Revolution.
Yoichi Wada didn't gave any certainty concerning these titles, but indicated that more will be reveiled during E3 2006 by Square Enix.

Wow, that actually makes me consider not getting a PS3. I know that FFXI is being released on it, and if what you say is true, Ziddy, then I guess I'm getting the 360. :D
Yeah the whole reason I like my Sony systems is because of the rpg's. NowI dont know.

Meh, I'll still get PS3, and the PS3 versions of the games. I can't live without playing MGS4 and the other PS3 titles that will be coming out. :P

how is that going to work? the x-box 360 is coming out on like november 22nd where as there ps3 isn't for a bit. So what will they do, release them for x-box 360 and make us sony fans wait or just realese at same time once both systems are out? I like sony because of their ff/rpgs, but if they are going to put them on x-box 360 as well, i don't know which i'd want.

I'm pretty sure FF13 won't be out for a long time, because they have plenty of projects to go before they can even start FF13. Their main focus right now is completed KH2, FF12 and what not. :P

you know...i hate when i mis-read the "I"'s XD i thought they were talking about 12, but there are 3 I there XD anyways, still is going to be weird to play a ff on xbox 360
If Final Fantasy appears on the Xbox-360, I wouldn't be suprised. There were some FF games on the Gamecube.
However, I will vomit in disgust.
The FFVII PS3 tech-demo video is really cool! The graphics are great, almost FFVII:AC!
If they put it on X-box 360, I will personally write to Square-Enix expressing my disgust and promising never to buy one of their games again, and possibly burn as many X-boxes as I can find/"borrow".... The gamecube versions were ok, but n Xbox? NO WAY....

Yeah and ive worked for a big company before, we didnt sell games, but same principle. I got customers all the time saying they hated us and were never buying from us again. You know what we tell those customers, "OK, bye". Then we hang up. One customer doesnt matter, contrary to popular belief.

Mainly because the general Xbox fan base consists of people who play action based games, whether it be shooters, sports, fighting, etc. There were only a few RPG's that did well on the Xbox. Square should just stick to their roots and continue putting RPG's on PS3, as a large portion of the PS2 fan base either favor or play RPG series.

Not really, some people like RPG's but prefer most games the Xbox have, thus buying the Xbox, then having to buy a PS3 just to play the RPG's he/she likes, which isnt worth it. This way as it does seem that square-enix is trying to piss off sony, sony will lose about 5% of their profits if this does happen =D

Ok, perhaps that was an overstatement... scrap the bit about writing to them, and not buying any new games.... But i'll keep the bit about burning X-Boxes!
Sprog, this isn't really the place to badmouth the Xbox.
To me, it seems a bit... unloyal to release such an amazing series of games as multi-format. When they released Sonic Heroes on the three main consoles, it was the return of Sonic, and therefore acceptable. However, Final Fantasy has spent the past few years on the Playstation, and that is where it should stay, in my opinion.

Tharrick has a point! So... If they started on Nintendo, what was their reason to go across to Sony? Better Power/Memory/Graphics/Sound?

The original Final Fantasy games were on Nintendo consoles, but as the Playstation gained popularity, it only seemed right to transfer it across. This was probably because the PS had more memory, and we all know how big the FF series is.

Pfft this benefits me since I plan to get the 360 anyway, now I can play the FF games =D and like OMG why do people hate the Xbox so much? Because they're all RPG freaks who are all PS fanboy/girls? O_o like seriously, there is nothing THAT wrong with it other than the fact that the PS2 has some better games (FF, MGS, SOCOM to name a few).
Well they'll probably make more money out of this because people who do have an Xbox still may enjoy RPG's, just prefer Shooters, Action, etc better. And look, do you really think they give a damn about loyalness? IT'S ABOUT MONEY, DUH. And again there's nothing that wrong with the Xbox, not like PS2 doesn't have it's flaws either. (And just because Microsoft made it, doesn't mean you have to be hatin' xP).

Well... Erm... Yes... Looking back at this, perhaps this game will be quite good, but i still don't like the idea of it being on Xbox... I look forward to seeing how it rolls out tho.... As square-Enix always always make amazing games!
Meh! So what if FFXIII is on the XBox... AS WELL! If they completyely swapped over like they did for FFVII, that would annoy the hell outta me. But so long as I can get FFXIII on the PS3, I really don't care.
I prefer the PS2 at the moment, but that doesn't stop me getting my fave multi-format games! Pro Evo is a prime example (was KH released on Xbox...just bought it 2day! :D ) of this. I think peeps shouils stop saying "It's disloyal blah blah blah..." because when you think about it, only good can come of this move. Xbox fans get a FF game on their system. SE gets more money, which leads (I would hope!) to a bigger budget, which leads to a better game next time around! Arguing that XIII (It should star Red XIII lol!) should only be on the PS3 is pointless.

M$ really ****ed up on the 360, mainly because they call it a "media center" yet it can't support or play ANY of the next-gen formats (Blu-Ray or HD-DVD). They think like "harrharr we release 1 year before Sony thus wtfowning them", when indeed they are shooting themselves in the $foot object.

No they won't, they will modify it for the PS3..just like capcom modified RE:4 for the PS2, making a new mini-game etc..
S-E is going to do what they please, no matter what you say anyway. S-E is thinking about their budget, and expanding to XBOX means more $$$.
Anyway, all you have to do is blame sony, because its their fault that SE is pissed off.
Hopefully S-E won't bugger this up, with (hopefully) better graphics on PS3 (It kicks the crap out of 360), and better gameplay system... Hopefully it'll be designed for PS3, then switched to 360 with lower graphics and screwed-up controls (ever played Timesplitters on PS2 for 2 years, then tried playing it on the gamecube?!). I look forward to this game with interest, you have all changed my opinion (ever so slightly), and I shall simply ignore the fatc it's on 360, and wait excitedly until Lukeman hopefully Buys his PS3, so we can play it, and hopefully link my PSP up to it by Wi-Fi! Woot!

Undoubtedly, great graphics cannot rescue a game from being cockslapped as terrible if the gameplay reminds you of chewing on broken glass.
However, if I had the choice between playing FFVII on the PS1 or the PS3, imagining that S-E didn't tamper with the game AT ALL beyond the graphics (yes this includes preserving the music), I'd choose the PS3.
Us PS2 fanboys said who cares about graphics about the Xbox games because the majority of all Xbox games are either total and utter soup, or they exist on another system, therefore making the Xbox the most worthless console since Dreamcast. Yeah, I will personally be handing out penis slappings to anyone who mention Halo.
Well duh if they game was exactly the same but could have better graphics, then i'd go with the one for better graphics, as long as it was the same (unless of course there was something I didn't like AT ALL about it then i'd want that changed) and you know.... Halo is a pretty good..... xD =P *runs*
And look Xbox still has it's fair share of good games and for me the PS2 has some good games which I want or wanna try our, but Xbox has a few better ones and then of course there's your PC's which just owns everything unless of course you have a crappy one like me ;(
O...K... Lets get back on topic! Yes, this game sounds amazing, and i'm now going to become impartial (for once) and say "WHO CARES!?". I have come to realise it doesnt really matter what consoles it goes on, as long as it's still a fantastic game, and perhaps we shouldnt argue over consoles, as we all have our own views (Me and Rai had a huge argument over PS3/Revolution a couple of weeks ago!), and just get on and chat about the new FF game that is going to be amazing!

OK, what I said about 360 i entirely take back! I played PGR3 in game yesterday and it blew me away, the graphics and music are stunning, with actual 3D crowds rather than 2D animated images... It's mental!
I just Can't wait for this game now after actually playing a next-gen console!
PGR3 does look good, although its not actually THAT much better frin GT4 on the PS2. Yeah, the crowds etc are good, but apart from that its not a million times better. And I can still safetly say the PS3 stuff looks better!
I think they are both awesome but I would prefer the PS3 only because that is the one I grew up with...

PS3 becuase playstation ius better than xbox and also that is what i'm most fimiliar for final fantasy's to be on not xbox :D
