View Full Version : Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire
Well, I saw this with Midi and my sister at 00:01 this morning, at the cinema.
It was WELL worth it, so magical and so amazing, I cried...... I'm not going into detail or spoilers or anything, because at this moment in time I very much doubt a lot of you have seen it. :\
So is anyone going to, or has anyone seen it? What about the books/other films?
I love them all, so much, i'm a BIZZZAAAREEE fangirl.

I'd like to see this movie as well. I like Harry Potter and any magic in general.
Heh. I've read to the book after this one, after that I've found it hard to keep my interest into books....Heh. But i'll definately see it soon, whether I do so in theatre or by my own methods...BUT!!! The game is definately magical and cool! :)

Man, is it gonna' be awesome!!!
I'm seeing it later today with a couple of friends. I read the book a long while ago, and it shocked me to death. Never before did a book move me like Goblet of Fire did. I'm not gonna' reveal any plot stuff for those of you who want to but haven't seen it and are too lazy to venture into the wonder that is this book!!!!
Ya, I'm a loser. XD
It does look incredibly cool, Hopefully I'm gonna go see it next weekend as my local cinema is BOOKED OUT for the next 4 days! MY mate works there and he got to see it last night because they do special showings for the staff!
The books are better than the movies, but then again, when they changed the director for "Azkaban", the entire area of hogwarts seemed to change... I hope they don't do that again! The SFX look amazingly...erm... amazing, and I can't wait to see it!
Yeah from the trailer it looks pretty cool so I wanna see it. I haven't read the book though nor do I plan to, too lazy, xD. I was reading the HP series like two years ago and then after the third book (yeah I was a "late" fan, only starting reading it after the first movie, knew about it and my sister was a fan so I could of read the books way before but bleh) I read a few pages of the fourth book and I was like "pffft.... screw this, xD". Not saying it was bad, but.... mehh..... yeah anyway I don't think it's out yet in Australia, or maybe it is, I dunno, but I don't think it is. Should be coming out next week in five days.
i actully dont like harry potter that much but i thought this film was amazing the storyline is great i reccormend you go see it if you havent but its quite a long movie but its all good.

I saw it on my birthday last week, it was so funny. One of my friends, Cheryl/Kai, her friend went to audition for the part of Cho Change, but didn't get it, as such Cheryl has a certain distaste for the person that did. The moment she appeared on screen I could head a loud "Eww!" about 6 seats to my left out of the darkness.
It was a very good film, I'm a bit disappointed about how much they cut out, but I dread to think how long it might;ve been otherwise o_O

i seen harry potter and its really good
Ahhh god bless the shitty 12A thing... all the little kids were SHITTING THEMSELVES. Oh how I laughed.
Nightmares for them :D
When i saw the ship that came out of the water wich bare the Russian flag on their sail (the 2 headed pheonix) i thought to myself "oh boy another Russians are the bad guy movie", but then i went in deeper into the story, its bloody good, best out of the 4 movies and the russians are not badguys lol : D
I loved it. I love the Harry Potter series, and the movie was great. They did mess up some stuff from the book but oh well what movie doesn't? I am actually going to go see it again Wednesday.
they coulda made that first bit with the world cup better... wasn't explained enough and was over too quickly... would've been a nice bit of atmosphere building and all that etc whatever yadda yadda.
They're not russian :)
looks like the flag thoughhttp://www.wolfram.demon.co.uk/russia_flag_mw.gif
wait, i think they are bulgarian or russian bah i am confused
yef, they be bulgarian :)
As for the beginning of course it could have been better, they messed it up in the first place, and then they didn't get into detail with the cup or anything... I didn't like that too much.

Everyone says the ending sucks, right...But I really thought it was good. It left it open for the next one! ^_^

yeah it did and thats another reason why i liked it plus also it had a bad freaking stroyline.
I just watched it (like just got back from the cinemas), awesome movie =D Thankfully we got the not-so crowded cinema. Like there was this massive line (this cinema is inside a shopping centre), right? And we kept walkin' (we were at the end of the line, xD) and we we at cinema 10, which well was our number (on the ticket) though for some reason the rest of the line was like going into one of the "rooms" O_o so yeah we got the one with not alot of people, they had to use two cinema rooms (and the first one was one of the "big" ones for popular movies). Yeah anyways I was confused a bit but I just annoyed my sister with questions (whom had the read the book, I hadn't, too lazy after I read the third) and all I could hear from her "OMG they cut out SO much", "where's winkle(sp?)?" and some other crap xD. Anyways since I hadn't read the book I wouldn't know much so obviously I would of thought it was good movie, which I do, xP. They didn't explain some parts and so I had to ask my sister, xP. And freakin' hell Ron's grown alot lol. Doesn't look like he's 15 - 16 more like 18 or something. Oh and yeah Ron's like freakin' funny, just the way he acts and stuff. Neville looks alot different aswell. And Voldermort (sp?) has a retarded nose xD.
Yes they messed the movie up badly but I liked it overall. They messed up the ending and beginning horribly as you said, they left Sirius out like almost completely, they forgot Dobby and Winky, which I kind of wanted to see. I liked the movie but if they leave a lot of stuff out of the next one, it will suck.
Winky! Yes that was the name... and Dobby was *supposed to be* in it too? =( Well i'm pretty sure they'll have to leave out alot of stuff since they can't keep it TOO long and the 5th book is pretty thick xP. And apparently Winky gets blamed for.... I forget what it was, but he (a house elf yes?) gets blamed for doin' something.
Yes Winky got blamed for sending the Dark Mark into the sky, that is why Crouch got rid of her. If you read the book it reveals how Crouch Jr. got out of Azkaban, and all the little parts of it, which is actually important to the movie.. overall I would give the movie a C. Oh and Dobby was the one who really gave the Gulliweed to Harry not Neville.

Yeah i was wondering why Neville gave harry the Gillyweed or however you spell it and not dobby kinda strange if you ask me
Stupid how they got rid of Dobby since he was in the second one, xP. And OMG HOW COULD THEY GET RID OF PEEVES !? (like they took him out of the entire series =O)
I came out of the cinema extremely dissapointed after seeing this... The longest book that they've done yet, but it's the shortest film!? What is going on?
Cutting Out Dobby, Winky and Ludo Bagman were real bad mistakes, but at least we got a laugh from neville giving harry the gillyweed! ("OH MY GOD! I'VE KILLED HARRY POTTER!")
I got highly confused at the start, thinking "who the hell is the guy in the dream"... only when i realised it was david tennant did i get it was crouch jr... Then I got confused as to why Hermione was at Harry's House, only to see ron and realise it was the burrow... And then, what happened to Sirius, he gets one scene, done in CGI! He's meant to be in the cave in the mountain!
When I first saw images of moody, i didn't like the design, but its grows on you throughout the movie... At least they kept in "Draco Malfoy, The amazing bouncing ferret"
AND WHERE WAS JOHN WILLIAMS MUSIC?!
So overall, being a potter fan, i give the book 9/10, and the film 6/10.... They simply cut out way to much stuff....
My brother thought it was good, but he hasnt read any of the books!
Lets just hope they bring back Chris Columbus for Order Of The Phoenix... When he did Stone and Chamber, he got them spot-on... Sadly, the next 2 directors have lost touch with the book, chopped out too much stuff, and simply hacked it to pieces...
They've been THREE directors? I only though there were two, one for the first two and another for the last two (being the third and fourth) and yeah they did cut out some parts of the third movie if I recall correctly. And Harry is meant to be at his normal house first isn't he? THEN he goes to Ron's house? And long was it? (I didn't exactly pay attention to time or anything). They could of atleast chucked a LOTR and made it around three hours, but then I would of been home rather late xP.
They've been THREE directors?
Yup,
Philosophers Stone: Chris Columbus (American - Works with Speilberg sometimes)
Chamber Of Secrets: Chris Columbus
Prisoner of Azkaban: Alfonso Curion (French - Don't like his other films)
Goblet Of Fire: Mike Newel (UK - First English Director, haven't seen his other works)
Chris Columus was best by far, BRING HIM BACK WB! :D:D:D
I guess it explains why the third one sucked while the second one was personally my favourite (well before the fourth came out) xD. And yeah i've heard that name (Chris Columbus) before and no not just from the Harry Potter movies lol.

Ya, the third one was pretty damn horrible. And too bad, too. The third book was one of my favorites. Aside from the Goblet of Fire, it surprised me the most. It had one of the best plot twists. In my opinion, it was the small stuff that ruined the movie. The stuff that just didn't seem very Harry Potter-ey, and didn't match the first and second movies. Like the jazz music! What the foo'? Jazz music in Harry Potter? No, you fools, do you wanna' get smacked?
I liked the third one... O_o

The Goblet Of Fire Is my fav its scary but Its stil haves the kiddy look
I like the wierd sisters in Goblet Of Fire... My brother likes the "DO the hippogriff" song... It's quite good!
Chris: Really? I hated the third movie, well not HATED, but it wasn't nearly as good as any of the other ones, though the book was alright and everything, xP.
Kiddy look? Well it KINDA does, not SO much as maybe the earlier movies and now it's a bit more "mature", maybe? And yeah it is obviously scarier so some kids might be shatting their pants or something, xD.
^ Which two weird sisters? O_o and "Do the Hippogriff" song? What are you talkin' about lol am I missing something here (probably just forgot or wasn't paying attention to the music).
The Weird Sisters were the band playing at the ball, fronted by the lead singer of Pulp - Jarvis Cocker. Also I think some members of Radiohead were in it, but I didn't get a good enough look.
Oh THEM, yeah they were pretty cool. Never heard of them, but they seemed somewhat good, xP. The name sounds somewhat familar however. And was the "Do the Hippogriff" song by them or something? O_o
yeah, its the random song they're playin whilst all the kids are all jumpin up and down
Meh, I think the fourth movie is the best upto now. They seem to get better each time, but looking over everyone else's posts, people don't seem to like the third movie very much. I like the dementors, so cute! ^^
The fourth is just the best though. Yup, yup. It almost made me cry! O.o"
^ The Dementors...... cute? ARE YOU OKAY? O_O THEY WERE ALL LIKE FREAKY MAN, IT WAS LIKE GRIM REAPER - THE SCYTHE + FREAKY POWERS x 100 OF THEM = FREAKY SH*T RIGHT THERE! xD. And yeah I didnt' like the third movie, but the book was okay and yeah the fourth is the best, even though they cut out alot =/
*Pets Auron* S'ok, they can't get you. >_> They were actually kinda funkkkkkyyy.....
I still think the 3rd! Cut TOO MUCH FROM THE 4TH =O *Sulks*
I don't see why people are complaining about things being cut, its obvious thing had to been, the friggin movie was already 3hours if they hadnt of cut stuff out, it would of been 5hours. Directors don't have unlimited budgets. All you people seem to do is complain, they may aswell not make them for you.
^ Was it 3 hours? I thought it was only like 2 when I watched - I wasn't keeping track of time lol and when I got back home it was the usual time I get home after I watch movies around that time =/ Or maybe it wasn't..... lol I forget. Well even though they DID cut out alot of stuff - it was still a good movie, unless your counting the fact that they cut out crap lol.
Lei: I realised that, xD. Funky? O.o WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH j00 PEOPLES! lol.
It could have been cut better. I know as a fan I would have prefered to have sat for longer and watched the full book.
Theres hardly ANY complaining, we were saying our OPINIONS. We all enjoyed it though, so they SHOULD have made it for us, and they did.
I think they're getting better each movie, the first one was really a kids-movie and now it's more for 'adults'. Tho it's a shame they had to cut out so much from the books, I wonder if people who didn't read the books know what everything's about..
I can't wait till the next one, but then with every new movie, number 7 (the end) is getting closer =(
When does it come out on DVD? Anyone know?
Harry Potter?4 pages?Should read.
It came out on DVD a couple of weeks ago in U(s)A.It was byfar the best movie in the series and also a good movie overall for even non Harry Potter people. My brother only began reading the first book and saw the movies because he knew I liked Harry Pooter.Well, then sudddenly he became crazy after the movie and was saying "damn I want to see the next two movies (it would have more bad mouthing and violencing and my brother also thought that for some reason Harry would commit suicide and Slayer's song Justified Suicide would be playing in the background). He then read the latest books in two-three days.
Oh and he was also saying that Ray Fines was a great actor (the snake-man theme fits him)
i saw it and it wos good althouw they did mess it up from the book alot but it wos still good to see sham the magic in the film is fake un like my magic
