This sort of anime must be one of the best, especially the theme song (Cruel Angel's Thesis). So, are there any fans of Evangelion?

I love the anime, it's amazing.

Aren't there two movies? They made the last one because people starting complaining about the "last episode". I felt confused and betrayed after watching that last episode though...oh well...

I loved NGE, all of it, every last bit, I love the m anga too, it's confusing but it's great if you can understand it.

The theme song is good, I like it a lot, but I much prefer Komm, Susser Todd from EoE which I think is a rough translation of Come, Sweet Death in german (upon further investigation the exact spelling is Kommen Sie süßer Tod)
It's the song that goes
"Tumbling down, tumbling down, tumbling dowwwwnn"
The one that is played when the giant Rei starts falling to pieces and stuff. Everytime I hear that song I'm reminded of those scenes End of Evangelion.

The story is what made it so great, I had to watch it twice to be able to understand it all. The manga is great too, gives some nice character depth.

I heard that they canceled the live-action movie. But that isn't a to reliable source. I just heard about it a while back originally so. I don't know. I'll look that up. But anywho. I love evangelion. Excellent story that is lovely based on some very interesting things from real life. I like animes like that. Probably one of the most confusing and complex animes I've ever seen as well.

I don't think there is, I can just tell. Anyways, I've seen the first 18 or so episodes, it's very interesting to watch.

Well what you need to do is watch the series 3 times and watch the move twice then it'll half make sense lol.

The anime is based on a pretty airy fairy concept anyway XD

P.S. I happened to buy issue 8 of NGE in Italy to help me learn Italian - trust me to buy the issue where Kaoru breaks a kitten's back!!!!!!!!!

Yeah that was cruel, Hikaru, I didn't mind Kaoru in the anime but he was just so much more cruel and cold in the manga. :x THE POOR DEFENCELESS KITTEN. ;-; I thought volume 8 of the manga was the most gobsmacking as it was completely different from the anime. Kind of messed though, but that's Eva =D

Kaoru was the only real sort of Bishonen character in the series really. But yes I despised him in that manga lol

And yeah it has to be slightly different or they never sell both lol. I've got the directors cuts of the last 6 episodes on DVD. I've also watched the movie a bunch of times.

What are your favourite NGE scenes or quotes?

1) Shinji accidently falls on a naked Rei in her apartment. He apologises but she doesn't react. Later when they're in NERV HQ Shinji makes a comment about not trusting him father - Rei slaps him and says "You should never question Commander Ikari." (lol)

2) The famous (repeatedly) mistranslated quote: "This is pathetic..."

P.S. I think my translation is the most accurate...

The part of getting the right actors is what bothers me a lot though.

evangelion is a very good serie, i see it last year (in spanish, 'cuz i'm a spanish speaker) but i see 3 cap of the english version, and the japanese version too

I haven't really been a long-time Anime fan, at least where series' are concerned, so I'd never checked out Neon Genesis Evangelion when I was younger. I've heard many people speak highly of the show since then though, and several months back I finally picked up a copy of the show. Dispite it's obvious age, I still thought it was highly decent, and the soundtrack as well as the storyline were quite good. I'm not the type of person who can watch multiple episodes in one sitting, but thus far I've watched the first eight or so episodes. I suppose all I can say is that I look forward to having more time to watch further instalments. ;)

well, nge. what can i say? I found the first half of the anime to be extremely interesting and thought provoking... and then I kind of lost it >< it got really mind boggling and yeah, as someone mentioned, the last 2 episodes were like wth??
But I'd still recommend it, it's a pretty good anime.

i loved that anime so muh i watched sub and dub and learned how to sing cruel angels thesis in Japanese even tho im scottish except the last few episodes confuse me and look forward to the next seris rebuild of evangalion and the live action movie and the game coming soon

I hated that when it came ovr to the states it was heavily edited. The main reason that it ended oddly was because of the funding that they had ran out. The show was very good and the characters were interesting.
