One of my worst things in Final Fantasy VIII was the draw system. At first when I got the game it was cool, junction system also, but now it's really boring to draw.
So what do you think?

I loved the draw system. You could stock spells you didn't have, and you couldn't cast spells you didn't have. The draw system was a innovative addition to the Final Fantasy series.

The only thing almost like the draw system is Materia.

I didn't like the draw system, I thought it was simply too much fuss. Materia suits it so much better, I think.

I liked it. Because I liked to junction magic. :D And In the end it was fun to use Ultemecias own spell on her even though it didnt hardly do anything.

I liked it, because it made me think, which doesn't happen very often. =D

I think the draw system was pretty much balanced. It had it's advantages and it had it's drawbacks. You didn't have to wait for a certain lvl nor did you have to aquire a certain materia or item to learn the ability from, you could simply just "draw" the spell from the monster. It's brilliant! Not only could you use the spell, but you could refine them to create items, and vice versa. You could also refine the spells to create stronger spells, and junction the spells to boost your stats.

But there was also a disadvantage to the draw system. Spells that are treated as items and can only be used so much until they run out and are needed to be drawn all over again. When spells were equipped to your stats, and were used frequently, the equipped stats would get weaker, which was bad. Really bad. Yeah, and it was just pretty annoying, because I'm the type of person who has to collect every single item, and complete every single side-quest, and pretty much just be really thorough when I play videogames, so if I drew a spell, I'd keep trying to draw it until I got 100 of it. So yeah, after getting up to like, disc 3 doing that, I wanted to slit my wrists and sacrifice a goat.

You got a point there. But what I also don't like is that the game gets really easy if your stats are high. Like Squall has STR 112 and I'm only at the end of disc 2...

I thought it was good because you weren't wasting any MP. :)

I hated FFVII for the materia. I don't remember why, I just know it annoyed me to hell.

I think the draw system is awesome, especially being able to just switch everything that's junctioned and nab someone else's magic and stuff - makes it loads easier.

I found it way too annoying having to draw all the good spells near the end of the game... I spent a couple hours on the end of the game drawing to junction.

I agree with what Lei said.

I didn't like the draw system, I thought it was simply too much fuss. Materia suits it so much better, I think.

I wasn't too keen on drawing cause it was jsut one turn less when you could inflict mind numbing pain on your enemy and it was tres frustrating when the draw failed

I just think the draw and junction systems are different because no one knew there was going to be a new battle system before it was released in the shops.

i liked the draw system cause you can have lot of different kinds of spells and no one is just based on one kinds of spells also cause you can junction and with materia i don't like it as much cause to use it you have to give up HP and Strength to use the materia and more powerful more it cost you and near end when you have all those spells you anly us mostly some of heal and support and less of attack which is used mostly on my junction so it was good way to play the game.

the draw system did kind of slow down the battles in the game.

The Draw System was a major mistake. Why couldn't they go with the idea in FFIX when you equip things that give you abilities but u still have to earn it. Draw was handy if u missed a GF but that was about it.

It's all well and good to say you hate it but I don't see why. At first it can seem a slight bit confucing but its easy to get the hang of. And for those who tediously mass draw to up their stats (Like me :)) then just get a turbo controller and leave it for a while. My only problem with the draw system is that there are some characters who absolutely are pathetic at drawing. 2 out of 3 times they fail to draw! I personally liked the draw system aside from that. You can uber your characters' stats and it was also an original touch which made the game a refreshing change.

the draw system was alright, but the fact that u stock on spells instead of wasting some form of mp really annoyed me for some reason

i played the game once and in a rush so I can't recall the bad things but I thought it was okay and helped the game be more easy and fun.it made powering your characters a lot easier and I usually stocked all the white magic and crap of various sorts to one douchebag that I had little use for (coughirvingcough) and I rarely had a problem.Squall and Zell were always enough to beat the shit out of anything and the characters that I never used would also be safe because then I could just transfer all the magic.

made the game fun
