Time to revive it!

NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD. FOR DISCUSSION OF THE TUTORIALS, PLEASE POST IN "GFX Tutorials Discussion". THIS WILL MAKE IT EASIER TO VIEW THE TUTORIALS AND NOT HAVE TO GO THROUGH SEVERAL POSTS TO FIND THE NEXT TUTORIAL. THANK YOU.

GFX Tutorial Writers
- Dark-Matter
- Aeyze
- Akabane-X

Note: If you want to be a tutorial writer, PM either Aeyze or Dark-Matter to let us know what kind of tutorials you'll be writing. Once we add your name to the list, start adding your own tutorials.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Each tutorial will have a step-by-step process of how to complete the goal of the tutorial, and each step will contain as much information as the writer is willing to give, but will also contain enough to describe how to do it. If you need additional help, please visit the "GFX Tutorials Discussion" thread, and ask for additional help while providing the tutorial name, then asking for you help.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Some tutorials may require that you download extra items (such as brushes, fonts, patterns, textures, etc.) or may require certain programs to complete the tutorials. If this is the case, links will be provided to download the items needed to complete the tutorial. Aside from the links, additional links may be posted up as mirrors incase one of the links fail.

Note: Those who are writing the tutorials, here are some resource links where you can upload the files.

[TUTORIAL #1: ADDING A SIMPLE BORDER]

Step One: Make a new layer by either holding down Ctrl, Shift and pressing N, or going to Layer > New.

Step Two: Hold down Ctrl and press A to select all.

Step Three: Change your foreground color to whatever color you want the border to be (black usually looks the best).

Step Four: Go to Edit > Stroke.

Step Five: Change the width to "1 px". Set Location to "Inside". For Blending, put mode to "Normal" and Opacity to "100%". Make sure "Preserve Transparency" is unchecked.

Step Six: Press Ok, and you're done!

Abstract Sig

This is for those who want to make abstract sigs.
Now, I made this so that you could make your own.
You will need lots and lots and lots of abstract brushes here.
You can get them here: http://www.deviantart.com

1. Create a new sig with a size of 350x120(good for an abstract). Press D to
reset the colors.

2. Click Render Clouds.

http://img303.imageshack.us/img303/6209/clouds1hd.jpg

Get an even and light one.

3. Now, this is where you will make use of your abstract brushes!
Get the brush tool and choose the brush that you want to use.
Start brushing but don't overbrush, you will make more later.

4. Then, click Image> Adjustments> Auto Contrast

http://img303.imageshack.us/img303/7316/autocontrast2qw.jpg

You will always use this after brushing.

5. Here are the layers I made so far:

Layer 1:

Layer 2:

Layer 4:

6. Time to add some colors. Click the circle next to the folder on the
Layers Pallete then, click Color Balance. Play with the settings and there
it is!

You can also make a multicolored sig, like this:

http://img303.imageshack.us/img303/2495/multicolor2pw.jpg

I'll make a tutorial about this one later.

7. Render. I can't tell you how I put renders on my way. It's a bit complicated. You can also get renders here: http://www.gamerenders.com

http://img303.imageshack.us/img303/6066/render0ct.jpg

8. Text and Sub-text. There are different ways on making text. I'll also
make a tutorial on text effects later. You can get fonts here:
http://www.dafont.com

http://img303.imageshack.us/img303/2338/subtext2kp.jpg

9. Border. This is easy. This is the 3px border but I used the 1px border. Make a new layer. Click Select>Select All. Click Edit>Stroke.
Put these settings:

3px
Color: Black
Leave the other settings that way.

Click Edit> Stroke
Settings:

2px
Color: White
Blending Mode: Clear
Leave the others that way.

Click Edit>Stroke
Settings:

1px
Color: Black
Leave the other settings that way.

If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, etc. just
post it on the GFX Tutorials Discussion. But don't worry about the
other steps without explanations, i'll make a tutorial about that.
