i was going to get ffXI today but i found out about a monthly fee besides the charcter fee i already knew aboutand all i know is it varies between 15$ to 30$ while i can get the game for 15$ should ir eally spen 20$ a month for just service i think thats a rip.

I agree with what is said above, I refuse to pay for a game I have already bought. If they want to charge monthly fees then the game should be a free download, there should be NO price for the software itself.

You already think it's a rip so posting this topic is pretty useless, you get a months free to play, if you don't like it you can cancel maybe $15 down the drain, but I doubt $15 is something to panic over.

Yeah, I agree with the whole 'Monthly fee for a game I purchased' thing. Especially if you buy it for the PS2 and it costs you like, 40 dollars....But I'd still get FFXI for that price. :D

And wait, you have to pay an extra dollar every month for every extra character? How many are you allowed before you have to pay the dollar?

It goes by "content IDs"

a content ID is something you purchase to play. Your firs cotnent ID is also your account, so that costs 12.95, but every additional character after that costs you 95 cents.
