Metal Gear Solid was one of the best PlayStation games (after Final Fantasy) I've played. I played the game twice and just recently have bought MGS: VR Missions (called Special Missions in Europe) from eBay. Finally have it after a long time! :D

Metal Gear Solid 2 was okay, too much movies and Metal Gear Solid 3 looks really cool. Need to continue playing it sometime.

Metal Gear Solid 3 is the best MGS so far.
MGS 2 was kinda gay, Ireally hate raiden or ryden wathever that blond dude with a female face eughh.but that does not ruins the hole hole game.
TIP FOr MGS3 try exploring the jungle you l find more wepons and camo's

The problem I have now is that the VR Missions disc doesn't work on my PS2, it ask for the MGS disc but everytime it says 'Wrong Disc' but the disc is inserted. So I need to play the game on my PSone then. :|

How many topics of MGS are there?

Oh, Zidane, if you change your mind about VR Missions, try to put the PS2 on a Vertical position.

Yep...

I'm still waiting for MGS3: Subsistence.

How many topics of MGS are there?A lot, but almost all are kinda old.

I've been playing Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 lately. With MGS2 I finally advanced in the VR Missions. I'm now doing the missions as Snake from MGS1 and they are really hard.
I think I'm almost completed Metal Gear Solid 3. I now have to blow up the Shagohold.

I love this series as well. I can't remember if I ever got VR Missions, but I know I definitely have MGS1 - 3. lol

My favorite of the three is MGS2 because of the story, and ... well, I can't really say much more of why I like it without spoilers. Overall, it was a well done and brilliant game. In my opinion, MGS1 was the worst, but it still gets a solid 9/10 from me.

MGS3 has a brilliant story as well, and I love the ending. It's sad, and relavant. You'll see what I mean Zid. :P

Haven't seen the ending yet, but I think I'm close it.

I just defeated the Shagohold and Volgin. I'm now in a forest after Eva's bike exploded and she got spieced (augh).

Ahhh I like that bit!

MGS has a reallyu good story, all of em together. Some people complain they're overly complex but I think its importantto have a complex story, it suggests depth and tells us that someone has put some effort into the game. Deep, confusing stories are always the best, I mean, I doubty many people here will argue that FFVII had one of the best stories ever, and how confusing was that!?!?

I agree with the the lukeman.
but i still think putting a gayish character in mgs2 was a BIG mistake

LOL, yeah Raiden sucked, but it was needed for Snake's story.

And Zid, yeah you are at the end. You just have one more thing to do. Also, a big tip:

Use the Snow camo and face paint in the next battle. It'll help out a lot.

After that you'll get to watch the interactive ending. :)

I love MGS, almost as much as FF. I like 2 the best, and you know what? I think I'm the only Raiden fanboy in the world... it's just that you can't compare him to Snake, so people call him "gay".

MGS3 is awesome ^_^, I really like the part when.

Snake gets his eye shot out!

I like being stealthy and then I can just slit their throuts.... man I'm violent.... That game just rocks! It's my favorite Konami game, and Castlevania is my second favorite.

Yeah it had a lot of cutscenes.

Anyone getting Subsistence? I have it reserved already and I'm picking it up today after school. It's getting very good reviews. IGN gave it a 9.8, GameSpot gave it a 9, EGM gave it a perfect 10, along with Famitsu, I don't think it's gotten anything lower than a 90% yet, except from a few player reviews.

Seeing all this dissapproval of MGS2 makes me want to admit that it truly wasnt all that satisfying.

I loveed MGS, MGS2 AND MGS3. Heres a thing, try playing through 3 and then going back to 2... you'll see how "primitive" the gameplay and animations were in 2 when you do that!

I loved the cutscenes in MGS3. Bear in mind that wehn you play through at top level and don't just blast youir way through on alert, you need to carefully recon the area, plan your move and then execute it... it can take alot of time and effort to do it properly. In that sense, the cutscenes can be seen as very rewarding! I certainly found that.

DO it the other way around! Play MGS2 AFTER MGS3, that's when you can REALLY appreciate Snake Eater!
