Hewwo, I was just wondering, does anyone know if there's any add-ons you can purchase for a Playstation 2 in order for you to be able to take screenshots of what's on the TV screen?

I'm not sure if anything like it does exist either o_O but somebody did mention something like a USB thing to me thatcould be used, but I haven't been able to find information on it.

>.< I need screenshots of some of my PS2 games for my Shadow Hearts website so any information or helpful links would be appreciated

Hmm, I've never heard of any add-ons you can use, but I know a couple of other ways it can be done, but requires some additional software and hardware.

Route 1
You will need a DVD drive, and a PS2 emulator, such as Bleem. This will make it so you can play your PS2 games on your PC. You'll also need a high-end computer for this. This way, you can do the classic "Print Screen" method for the screenshots.

Route 2
This one will require a powerful digital camera that has adjustable frequency rates, so that you can adjust it to your TV screen's frequency, then just take photos, and they'll come out clear. This might work for a regular digital camera, but chances are you'll see a lot of lines on the pic. But it's worth a shot!

Route 3
You can buy a special cable, I forget the name of it at the moment, you can connect your computer to your TV, and use your TV as a monitor, so whatever's on your TV will be what your PC is displaying. Then you can take screenshots with your PC.

There might be some type of addon you can use for your PS2, but if not, here are some alternate methods. Hope this helps. :)

The cable sounds like a good option, thanks for that Kryt! I'll look into it some time =D

And Im pretty sure its called something like DVI cable. You need a TV-Out (tv outlet) on your GFX cards, which only the higher costing ones do.

Route 4
Get a DVD recorder, and record what you want to screenshot. Play this on your PC and use PrtScr.

That's the proper set up, but your TV will still work as a TV when hooking your computer up to it. :P

And a good percentage of GFX cards these days have TV-out. I have a nearly four year old graphics card that has it on one of my older computers. It's becoming a standard feature to have now. :P

And if you have a really powerfull PC you can try PCSX2 (http://www.pcsx2.net). It's a PS2 emulator where you can play your PS2 games on. Some games really work. You can take screenshots with that emulator.
Too bad I can't get it too work...

the thing about pcsx2 is you need a ps2 bio on your computer, which I can't find anywhere. Mainly cause I beleive it's illegal XD

Yeah, we won't allow to post PS2 bios on the forum. Just search for PS2 bios in Google, that's the way how I find one.
