Aaaaargggggggggggghhhhh!!!! I officially can't take it anymore! :upset:
I have horrible, disgusting, horrendous internet connection. I've got DSL, and I've had it since about the summer. Now, I can't stand it. When I'm on AIM, I get kicked off every other minute, when I play online games, I always "Lose Connection to Server" after like, 5 minutes, even when I'm using Internet Explorer, sometimes I just lose connection out of nowhere and nothing loads...at all! Not even Yahoo! Anyway, here's where I ask for help...
How do I fix help? What do I do? :( Is there anything I can do? I really don't know diddly-squat about computers and the like, so I need some help. Anything will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, all. :D

Yeah, as DK said, there are areas that don't have good DSL connections. My grandmother got DSL a while ago, and she had slow and crappy connections, but I had DSL at that time too, and it worked fine for me. We both had it through Verizon too.

Do you use filters for your phones when using your DSL? If so, be sure every single phone jack has a filter, even if you're not using that phone jack. If you don't, any type of phone activity will kick you off.

Also, it could be some type of virus on your computer, because with the viruses of today, they can do that to your computer.

I would call your ISP and try to resolve the issue with them. That way you can see if it's an error on their behalf.

Okay, there's another phone jack thing in another room, so I put a filter on that one as well. And about my location itself having bad connection, is there anyway I can check that online? Or do I have to call my ISP?
And chances are, it's probably a virus, too. My computer has no virus protection at all, I wouldn't be surprised if every one of it's problems is due to a virus.
So yeah, thanks for the help. And I'll try and call someone and see if there are any other problems.

you could always try doing what I do when my computer/internet starts being slow. Yell at it and threaten to kick it. If that doesn't work (and it never does work) then you should probably listen to kaede's and .krytikal.'s suggestions XD

Actually to be honest, on my computer upstairs all I have is a Firewall and I might have a Virus somewhere but my computer is still up to scratch and pretty quick. It's been like that for at least eight months.

I don't have any virus protection either (anyone suggest any?) the Norton Antivirus software that comes with my computer isn't on it (like it's supposed to be automatically instead, but I reformatted so that's why lol)..... maybe I should go check if those CD's they gave me was a Norton Anti-Virus Setup xP Yeah and often when I go on AIM I get signed out every now and then, sometimes I stay on for a bit but I think it's only when i'm talking to someone - or maybe when i'm talking to someone it still signs off, I forget xD.
