This is a song I'm working on with this guys band. Gonna have it as a song for me to sing, all I've done before was back up, so this will be interesting. Needs work still, a better flow etc. But this is what I got for now.
Whats the purpose, the meaning, behind all this pain and misery
Surrouned in a world or darkness and pain, there is no escape
I was saw the light, but it burned out long ago,
Now I sit here alone and wonder, why, why must it be like this
What have I done, to dersever this hell, what great injustice, to be treated like this
I see your light in the distance, but it grows dimmer by the second
My only hope of escape, and it's fading fast
No one here to hold or comfort me, alone I weep on the floor
The only friend I have, my mind, but it betrays me often
At times I wonder, why the hell I get up for more
I know I'll just get kicked in the teeth again,
But yet again I awake, to experience the same fate
I'm begining to think I like this hell, the pain makes me feel alive
Without it, I wouldn't know what to do
It's always there, a part of my life, become part of who I am
Again I see your light, but I can not catch it
Every time it's within my grasp, I get kicked again
Back to the begining
My mind is pleading, for some escape
But I know, that all that awaits me in the end is hell
Yet your light is there again, pushing me onwards
One day I will catch it, and I'll escape
But for now, this hell is my world
