Does anyone here tried the new Internet Explorer 7 beta 2? I just downloaded it and it looks nice but one thing I really notice is the font. It looks weird.

Some features in the new IE are: RSS Feed, a Phishing Filter, zoom page and the tabs.

With the amount of problems IE has given me recently, I finally made the permanent switch to FF. FF has some spectacular crashes sometimes, but at least it works, and IE has rarely worked for me in the last month.

ek, looks ok, I'm sticking with my firefox though. It's taken IE this long to come out with a beta that matches some of the best FF features like tabs and whatnot. By the time it's no longer beta FF will probably be even better.

Heh, I was reading about it in collage, never knew you could download it.

I was going to try it but to be honest like everyone else I'm happy with Firefox.

(One thing I will say is it looks pretty nice appearance wise XD)

Well, The only bad thing about Fire Fox, is No Javascript support. Sure you can prolly Download a Plugin. But Im staying with IE no matter what. Ive tried using firefox and in my personal Opinon. It stinks. It changes around webpages so much, that you have to change your coding to match Firefox and then..it screws it up in IE.

Again. Im staying with IE :)

BTW Zidane. I looked at IE7B2 and Its Pretty friken awsome! :) but you are correct... The font..its funny.. O.o

It changes around webpages so much, that you have to change your coding to match Firefox and then..it screws it up in IE.that's only because all ot those webpages are "made for IE" and not "Made following Official Standards" and MS ignores Official Standards and makes their own... (HHN works in IE and also in FF)(this problem can be "fixed" with a pligin called IEtab (allows windows update in FF too XD))

i ain't using IE7B2... i don't trust microsoft... especially now when they claim ther product still has bugs (hence the beta status)

Ive been hearing that IE7B2 is nothing more than a FireFox coding with IE skin. Of course, some of us should know that Bill Gates likes to rip things that are popular and claim them as his creation. I doubt ill be using IE at all, im quite happy with FireFox.

I doubt ill be using IE at all, im quite happy with FireFox.as far as i know bill gates... it's just as leak as IE is now.... MS has a way of introducing bugs in EVERY SINGLE THING (even the xbox and xbox360) they make OR TOUCH!!! and BTW: did you know that you can't use certain functionality while using IE7B2According to ZDNet, bug reports are already flooding in for Microsoft's new Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview. Specific issues include the possibility of arbitrary code execution as well as incompatibilities with McAfee Security Center, anti-spyware programs, and online banking sites." From the article: "... browser testers may already be at risk, according to security researcher Tom Ferris. Late Tuesday, Ferris released details of a potential security flaw in IE 7. An attacker could exploit the flaw by crafting a special Web page that could be used to crash the browser or gain complete control of a vulnerable system, Ferris said in an advisory on his Web site. Microsoft had no immediate comment on Ferris' alert."

Firefox is still better but this is a big improvement! They might actually come out with a good IE eventually!

Does anybody know how it compares in terms of speed with the old version of IE and with FF? The one gribe I have with FF is that it is so much slower than necessary... :(

The font I was talking about in IE7 is also possible in the current Windows XP version. It's called ClearType. When going to properties for screen, go to Design (or whatever is called) and go to effects. Under the 2nd option you can should select TrueType.

I'm using IE6 now of course again.

--- edit by alexanderpas: It's ClearType, not TrueType... ---

Don't do it to yourself - trying Microsoft betas? thats like, a big risk.
But seriously, I haven't tried it but I heared its like the old IE with some Firefox features like tabs and such.
