I used Zidane, Steiner, Garnet, And Vivi... lol the fantastic 4. :D

I used Zidane, Eiko, Quena and Vivi. Quena was the best, I gaught so many frogs that frog drop did 9999 and with the ability on the light robe I could do it for 5 MP!!! Not only that but Quena's attack power varies by Enemy and sometimes she can do more damage than Zidane. And Eiko is WAY better than Garnet by FAR, Garnet can learn more summons yeah, but her summons arent too great beyone Bahamut and Ark. She has SHITTYY white magic. Eiko on the other hand Can summon the Holy Summon, Madden, and a combiation wind/earth summon. Not to mention the fact that If she knows phoenix, randomnly if you die during a battle (Like I did fighting Ozma) Phoenix wil restore your party iinstead of you getting a game over. When I was facing Ozma Phoenix revived us 3 times! (I still lost because I didn't get that goddamned goat spirit)
Eiko can also learn HOLY wich makes her a great offencive power in Memoria and she can learn FULL life instead of just life. Garnet's really no match for her. VIvi is the bets, nuff said. And steiner is REALLY GOOD bt I didn't wanna lose Quena for him, I was stuck between the two. The lancer is great but she's hard to deal with because you ahve to find those lances and so few give her abilities. And the Red Headed guy is not so hot, he is great when he's in trance, but his moves just don't do that much.

I tend to keep my favourite characters in my party - usually the party was one of these 2:
-Zidane, Freya, Steiner, Vivi
-Zidane, Amarant, Steiner, Vivi
Sometimes I put in Eiko as well.

Zidane, Garnet, Amarant, Steiner
Reasons:
Zidane: i had no choice! he sucks! except his trance mode
Garnet:Odin, and ark really. and with odin's sword from ipsen's castle, it made things so much faster
Amarant: he looked cool, and had the most useful skills, including revive, and demi shock
Steiner: Sword techniques, like shock, and iai strike.
sometimes i would use quina, due to IT'S blue magic
Lol, eiko was so annoying though. Lol that little git.

I beg to differ.... Kuja is a crossdresser... and So is Albel from Star Oceans. :D

well, really in FFX they're was 5 men and 4 women seeing as seymour did join your party for a moment
Rikku, Lulu, Yuna... damn I cant think of the other girl.... wait. Tidus, Auron, Kimhari, Wakka, Yuna, Rikku, Lulu, and I cant remember another girl. lol

Haha yeah... And he also said Square wouldnt make a cross dresser when it has 3! Cloud when he has to get in that club, Kuja, and Albel.

That sounded wrong Lancer. But at the same time...it probably would matter. He was too muscular to be a crossdresser where as Kuja generally looked like Frankenfurter...or however it's spelt. Bar the fact Kuja had hair.

Ha ha ha, they've brought some good gimmicks up in their time that only they could do. They are funny as hell at times.

Anyway it's confirmed that Quina is. . . A Transexual!
1. Quina can equip some items that only Girls can wear, but also can't equip other items that only girls can wear (Namely the ones that say girls only in the description)
2. In conde Pete (Spelling?) Only a man and woman can go through the mariage ceremony, we know Vivi's a guy and Vivi marries Quina.
3.The game often says, "S/he"
4. It's true, there are already 4 guys and FFs tend to like to make things even.
5. He/She does wear a pink dress and apron.
based on the appearence and items I'd say it leans towards girl.
Based on how the talk about the character in the game I'd say they lean towards guy.
Eitehr way Quina's not fully one or the other, I thjink the game makers just wanted to have fun with it, Somone probably asked what it was during a production (Because it IS androgenous looking) And they though it'd be funny to say, "Both."

That's a pretty good party. Vivi + Steiner = Powerfull Elemental magic as swords and doomsday sword is invaluble when fighting Yans.
Vivi + Eiko = Give Eiko Reflect Null and give Vivi Reflectx2. Then cast carbunkle and have vivi cast magic on the whole party to reflect it back for MAJOR damage. And eiko's ReflectNull will allow her to still heal the party.
Also Eiko is just way better than garnet because she can have WAY better White Magic (Holy, Full Life, Regen) Not to mention the fact that phoenix has a chance of reviving everyone if the party dies. And at the end of the game almost all monsters are DEMONS so the simple spell HOLY does more damage than any summon (Even madeen). Eiko's a Great white mage who can summon and Garnets a Mediocre Attacking-only Summoner who can use white magic.

most people had this team (Even me my first time through) Because it's the first 4 characters that you get. And you tend to get attached to theem because there's quite a pause befor eyou get the other ones and Freya's a pretty useless and bad character untill the end of Disck 2. And you don't get the others till the VERy end of Diskc 2 and most people totaly overlook Quina. And decide not to use her because of the fluctuation stats and the fact that you have to learn her magic through enemies. What the don't realize is that learning via enemies can be a lot faster than the AP system! :P

the party i used is zidane garnet steiner and vivi
Vivi has some powerful magic, but his defence is far too weak for me to use him more. I usually use Zidane, Steiner, Eiko and Quina. Steiner because of his powerful attack strength, Eiko because she generally learns some awesome white magic early, and Quina, because I'm the collective type who likes using Blue Magic.
Oh, and Zidane, because I'm forced to. However, he does have Grand Lethal...

It's the same in most FF games - you always have the main character in your party (unless they're in a coma, or something).

I liked to use the four starting characters the most. I mainly use Steiner and Vivi though, made my Zidane a little bit of a power house, and made Garnet use summons and curaga. I just like Sword Magic.

Zindane, Dagger or Ekio matter how I feel, Vivi, and Freya or Amarant also matters how I feel this is my best team.

It changed through the entire game. For the final battle though, I used Zidane, Garnet, Armarant, and Stiener.

i used all characters equally my usual party was zidane (unfortunately no choice in that), whoever was the LOWEST level of garnet and eiko, and the lowest two levels chars of the other 5, i think i even kept this theme up in the final area (every time for the 3 or 4 times i played it) so i have had many varied fights with different chars.
also @crisifix
FF1 depends on party i think the white and possibly red mages were female that makes 4:2 (by char classes, iffy on judgement though)
FF2 was 3:1 M/F most the time
FF3 all male(i think, not played not sure)
FF4 9:3 M/F IRRC
FF5 2:2 then 1:3 M/F
FF6 8:3 with mog,umaru and gogo undetirmined(but i would say mog and umaru male)
FF7 6:3 (cait, vincent and red are all refured to as HE in the manual)
FF8 3:3
FF9 .......
FF10 4:3
im not trying to have a go just mentioning the stats, earlier games definately had more male characters sometimes even all male, (an exeption is 5), but due to everything leaning to more PC behavour and with a higher number of female players then your argument of equel numbers is still valid i just thought id point out that earlier games have def leaned more heavily to male chacters. sorry if i sound like an idiot but im bored and just though id write some facts down. :-D

My party consisted of Zidane, Vivi, Garnet and Eiko. I have recently changed Eiko to Steiner so I could use Magic Sword. These parties are awesome but i wouldn't say the best. I want Beatrix in my party!

I used the original four characters mostly. Sometimes I would switch off Garnet or Steiner with Freya or Eiko sometimes. Vivi I used most of the game. And Zidane, well he had to be in your party most of the game. :P
