Help beating a boss XD

damned sephiroth, i can't beat him.
i get him down to about 7 of his 15 lifebars then its all over for me.
Any one got any ideas on how to beat him?

What difficulty do you have it on? I'm not there, but I know that Trinity Limit is helpful and so are the reaction commands. Try to get him into the air.

Don't let him cast Sin Harvest. It will reduce your HP to 1 (with Second Chance) and your MP to 0. And that really hurts!

I defeated Sephiroth at level 92 with Easy Mode. I'm currently leveling Sora to beat him again.

He's talking about KH2, Sephiroth doesn't do Sin Harvest in it. Here's what the strategies say:

It mostly says to have an attack up to six keyblade, and also be at least 80 or above. His first move you can't block, so you can only do the reaction to it. The rest of the fight is kinda like that. You attack then trigger command. If he starts to do the fire thingy, glide from it. Sorry I'm not much help, but if you go to youtube you should be able to watch a vid of it.

you can also go to KH-Vids.net and also download under KH 2 boss battles and should be at bottom and watch on Windows Media Player and think there are setups not just for WMP.

I am only level 71 right now and I got my ass handed to me by him.. Try and stay on the GROUND as much as possible. If he gets you in the air, there isn't going to be much that you can do while he teleports and pulls off massive combo's to own you with. Now I'm going to go level up some so I can kick his ass. =P

I read the guide book and it said to be at least lvl 80. Being stupid and cocky, I took my lvl 53 self and tried anyway.

He hit me once, I got knocked in the air, and was killed before I hit the ground.

So level up like hell before anything.

Well, I got to level 81 and actually *Tried* him... Wasn't messing around anymore and I killed him.

He's easy if you know what to do...And I'll tell you exactly how.

1st off, you need some abilities:
Glide LV2 (This is very useful)
Guard (Also Useful)
Counter-Attack (VERY useful)
Explosion (Handy to have)
Leaf Bracer (Will need it =/)

And make sure you have your Combo's maxed. (The more combo's you can do, the faster this battle will go.)

The Abilities I had active while fighting him were:

Guard
Horizontal Slash
Retaliating Slash
Dodge Slash
Guard Break
Aerial Sweep
Aerial Finish
Trinity Limit (Don't need this one)
Upper Slash
Finishing Leap
Slapshot
Slide Dash
Explosion
Aerial Spiral

Synch Blade

Combo Plus
Air Combo Plus
Air Combo Boost
Aerial Recovery
Reaction Boost

Form Boost

You won't need anything that has to do with Limits or Drives.

Now, I'll explain why you needed these abilities later on.

Now, the items you will need:

I went in with 2 Elixers, 1 Megalixer, 2 Ethers, and a High Potion.

I suggest going in with as many Elixers as possible though...

Also, it's a VERY good idea to have the Ultimate Weapon... If you don't have that and don't have the patience to get it, I suggest using the Decisive Pumpkin.


After you walk up to Sephirother and talk with him, press Start and skip the sceen.

THE INSTANT YOU SKIP THE SCEEN, PRESS TRIANGLE REPEATIVLY.

The first move he does is a combo, if you rapidly press Triangle, he will do 0 damage to you.

Now, there are a few moves that Sephiroth pulls off.

The Gayest Move Ever: He knocks you down to 1 HP and 1 MP. You will notice he is levitating up in the air..He says something as well, but I forget what. When he floats up, imediatly go to your items and get an Elixer ready (or a high potion, or whatever). When he uses it, use the item instantly, he will come down and perform this next move.

Combination Whore: This is the one that you have to press Triangle to block. You use it at the beginning, sometimes randomly, and when he uses his gay move. THE INSTANT YOU USE YOUR ELIXER/WHATEVER, you MUST press Triangle when he uses his Combination move... Or else you will lose because of it later on.

Fire Pillars: When he uses this move, just jump and use Glide LV2 to float away from them.. (They draw you in, but by using Glide LV2, you move away from them, so you take 0 damage)

Sephiroth's Balls: =D Lmao... He creates a bunch of Dark Balls which come flying at you. But you can damage them and make them go away... The easiest way to do this is to have the Explosion ability. Make sure Sephiroth is targeted and just combo him to death.. When you use Explosion, it will kill off most-all of Sephiroth's Balls...

Air Combo: Sometimes you will be knocked into the air, and he will start teleporting back and forth attacking you. The BEST way to counter this, is the instant he knocks you in the air, press Square (This will activate the "Counter" Ability. You will start swinging your Keyblade around and then out comes Sephiroth to smack some sense into you..But you used the counter, so you just swung right as he comes out, and you hit him. Keep pressing Square to pull off a small combo, and then switch to X and hit him a bunch more.. He will end up falling to the ground, and so will you (Safty! Yay!)

Small Combo: There are times where Sephiroth will be in a "Stance". He will have his sword out and tilted, and he will be walking slowly. Time it right, and use Guard when he is about to attack, after he attacks, throw your combo's at him.

Do this over and over again constantly, you will win. I also suggest using Curaga when you are low on health. DO NOT USE ITEMS, those are ONLY used for in emergency situations (Like you are ALL out of MP, and you are at a Critical state) or when he uses his gay move.

at lvl 77 I just beat him yesterday on normal mode. He's hard. It REALLY helps if you have all your drives (including final form) to their max lvl (level 7) giving you:

High Jump Lvl 3
Air Dodge Lvl 3
Quick Run lvl 3 (I think this is what it's called)
Glide lvl 3

that way when he does that heartless angel move (1 hp and 0 mp) you can use air dodge to quickly get to him. Also when he uses metor you can use this to quickly jump back and forth and dodge the whole attack. Another thing I did is I set my quick bar thingies to this

X: Hi-potion x 3
Square: Elixer x 3
Triangle: curaga
Circle: reflectga (spelling?)

hi-potions, elixers and curaga is self explained. reflectage works really good when he uses the balls, use this when he does that to instanly send them all back (and even damage him if they hit him). Ultima weapon is great because of the MP Hastega, allowing you to re-charge your mana quicker after healing. Another thing is go check your skills and get rid of anything you don't need for him and add anything you might not have. I at lvl 79 (using all but 4 ap boosts on sora) do not have enough ap for all his stuff,so you might find things that will help against him like finishing plus that you should equip and get rid of some things you don't like combination boost.

another thing is that if he hits you in the air it's acually a good thing. Why? you can easily use that counter attack thing with square (i forget the name) and counter him after your in the air, allowing you to unleash an air combo on him. The upper cut he does does shit damage, it's the slashes that hurt lol heck when I knew he was going to upper cut me (well i didn't offically knew, but I got to know how he attacked very well lol) I'd let him, just to unleash an air combo.

Other than that it's just getting to know him and reading his moves. I failed beating him so many times that I could get him down to phase 2 without taking any or very little damage.

nah you can't, because goody and donald aren't in the battle, but when you lvl your drives sora will learn some of their moves.

when valor is lvl 2 (or 3, can't remember) valor learns high jump lvl 2 and sora (normal form) learns high jump lvl 1, then when valor learns high jump lvl 3 sora get's high jump lvl 2, then when valor get's high jump MAX (lvl 7) sora will learn high jump lvl 3, which is almost a must against sephiroth if you want to be able to reach his heartless angel move thing. Each drive gives you a differnet move.

Valor = High Jump
Wisdom = Air Slide
Master = Air Dodge (Another almost must against sephiroth, makes it really easy to stop heartless angel with this and you can dodge his whole metor attack if you keep doing this back and forth fast enough)
Final = Glide

so if you get all your forms to lvl 7 sora will have high jump lvl 3, air slide lvl 3, air dodge lvl 3 and glide lvl 3, making seph's moves alot easier to counter/dodge.

look the fastest way to beat him is like this when he hits you in the air right after that hit square and you will hit him when he tleports up to you and then just finish your combo when he hits the floor run up on him and use your limit comand trinity this takes down like 2 bars ( well i was on level 88 so mabey it might not take two but it helps ) and just have mad ethers and when you see him start to glow in the air go attack him before he gets to high and when hes on the ground and he starts to glow either run for ur life cause he invincible or just use ur limit. oh and make sure ater you win call him a humilliating name trust me its feels good to curse at him after all that.

i relied on beserk to do the most damage during the early to middle portion of the fight when you dont need much magic.

I beat him at level 73, it was a battle of Elixer using and ground combo, then trinity, then air combo. Beat him in like 3 to 5 minutes that way. :D

To view the secret ending in proud mode of course you gotta finish the game to view it.If you didn't lock all the keyholes how would you get to the world that never was to fight and finish the game?

And to fight sephiroth in easy mode its actually quite easy but you need a few tries to get a hang of his attacks.I finished him off at level 61...so basically,level all your forms(just valor,wisdom and master) to level 5 and equip all the special abilities you get!And,get Reflega first!And equip all the defensive abilities and offensive-counter abilities!


When the fight starts,sephiroth will uses his godly sashimi slash skill.So you'll have to press triangle to fend it!When he directly attacks you with the combo of his,jump away!When he suddenly disappears and backstabs you with an upward swing and you fly into the air,wait for him to appear again(don't even press any other button until he appears!).Then you press the square button(retailiating slash,sorry my spelling is lousy XD).You will then hit him and you quickly use a combo on him...repeat this method until he starts using the flare and dark orbs skill or that glowing hand thing(the heartless hand or something not sure...).If he use the flare skill,just run away from it!If he uses the dark orb thingy,aim well and use reflega!If he tries to use that heartless hand thingy,quickly run and jump to deal him a combo.After he has very low hp left he will start glowing purple.He will then turn faster and when you are going to reach him he will teleport.Then wait for him to backstab you with an upward slash and do the same thing again.Repeat until he loses!




NOTE:He will use that godly sashimi slashing skill once a while so don't keep jumping or you'll die even faster!Use elixers and potion when needed although you don't really need that when you know his attack pattern!

wait Xyrin, on the list I read you had synch blade for sora alone....how? You can only use that in final, master, and valor forms when you have the right partners with you? Anyway I dound him to be easier if you use oblivion and have the right health items and trinity. Other then that, I beat him on proud mode around level 68 or 70 and it was HARD!!!!!! If you are not as dumb as me and have a life, upper 80s and mid 90s are really good levels to fight him.
