New MMORPG based on FFXI

The producer of Final Fantasy XI revealed that development is getting into gear on Square Enix's next-generation massively-multiplayer-online RPG, the one stemming from the tech demo that Square Enix showed at last year's E3. Currently, the development staff is working on the final direction of the game, with only a few areas having taken form. As a result, Tanaka lists development at "zero percent," but adds that basic preparations are in done. He won't comment on a release date.

This is the FFXI with all that technology. And for the time being its Xbox360 only.

God damn... I just looked at them SS and fell in love... So getting an Xbox 360 so I can play that game lol. Hope they don't take -too- long developing that game, definatly looks like somethin I want to try.

Hmm, wether i'd quit FF11 for it has to wait, but i might get an xB360 just for that game, reminds me ALOT of FF8/9 kinda same scenery....

But for those wanting to try something other than FF11, there's always the new ".Hack//????" game that's gonna be released, or another game that looks very good is RF-Online

It looks really nice. If this is the next FF MMORPG count me in. I hope it will be more interesting than FFXI and I hope it will also be released on the PC. I don't have an Xbox and I'm not buying one anytime soon.

roflmao. Funny that most of the Final Fantasy are completely Sony-fanboy/girls. But i'm sure they're even more loyal to Final Fantasy so they might make the change to Xbox 360, or just get both lol (as in PS3 and Xbox 360). Yeah the graphics look pretty nice, alot better than FFXI (atleast from teh screenshots i've seen) itself lol.

The only thing is, ummm that character looks pretty similar to one of the races i've seen before. Well exactly the same actually, including the style of clothing? I'm curious about what's so different about this compared to the original FFXI? Besides storyline of course lol. I'm assuming they're liek further in the future - in another world and the technology is most advanced and so is the culture? lol.

actually only a few computers can hit those graphics so this is mostly three sixty graphics at there lowest. but there are hardly any differences between the charcters ill say that but the enviros look a little more familiar than different.

And Since Squeenix has been releasing FFs on the PlayStation for a long time now, I don't want them to switch to the Xbox, because that would mean that I have to buy both, since almost all my games are on the Playstation. It's not fair to assume we are all Sony fans. I'm not buying Xbox, even if the world's coming to an end if I don't.

And ummm i've seen alot of FF fanboys/girls that are also PlayStation fanboy/girls - obviously because FF is on the Playstation, which is another stupid reason as to why they like the PS so much.

And why I hate even mroe about these fanboys/girls is that when they see a new console come out, they immediately hate it because it's competition against their beloved PlayStation. Or maybe they're just mad they can't play the games on it without buying the console (already have a PlayStation) lol. Liek I hear some of the stupidest reasons as to why they hate the Xbox and some pretty contradicting (sp?) ones too lol.

Alright fair enough. Well you made it sound liek you hated the Xbox O.o Atleast in your previous post, which you might? I'm not sure lol. Yeah anyways I can understand if you don't want the Xbox because well you already have a console and don't want to have to spend more money, but completely going anti against it is a different thing ;p Anyhow, if it was released on PS3, you'd have to get the PS3 aswell which is more than the Xbox 360 =P

Well the only reason they're releasing on the Xbox 360 is because the Xbox has a way better Live system than the PlayStation's lol The fact that many people are already using Xbox Live and members, etc makes it alot easier for Square-Enix (and of course more money, or atleast faster money? Iono, whatever)

Well they'll probably eventually release it to PS3, or atleast I think so. Of course as I said before, releasing it on Xbox 360 would probably be the better choice in terms of money for Square-Enix. Atleast i'm guessing that's what they're thinking lol.

As for the monthly fee - haha we all wish there wasn't one, but I doubt it. We'll still probably have to pay. I'm wondering if they're going to make teh monthly fee like FFXI? Which IMO is kind of ghey. You're first character is 13 USD (or something liek that) and then every other character is an extra 1 USD. Doesn't really let you have alot of characters unless you wanna pay more.
