well, after about 2 hours reading i've found out how poor the [GM]'s are on FFXI, well not all of them just most.

I think I read over like 30 stories about people getting banned for using 3rd party programs and for using claim bots, I know for sure that probs' not all 100% are not legit, but I can imagine most of them are. One story got to me where, this girl had this item from an NM that she recieved from that specific NM, that was 20mil on her server. She was then called to that jail place, Mee something or whatever and he asked her about the whole "do you knwo why you're here" etc..and took her gil, because the guy that gave it to her didnt recieve the gil in a legit way, bought it or stole it somehow or whatever and wouldnt give her item back said that she had to discuss with that guy. Ok, so why didn't they ban the guy who gave her gil?

I guess there's a chance it's not true, but it's pretty disgusting. Especially since you have all these well-know gil buyers and gil sellers on FFXI and they don't do anything.

I was on some random WoW earlier, and I was surprised to see how many people from FFXI had migrated onto WoW. Not saying WoW is l33ter then FFXI and FFXI should be burnt, they both have good and bad but the good on WoW kinda overcomes the goodness of FFXI. I got to admit, WoW's graphics aren't as nice as FFXI's, well in-game anway. Blizzard does some amazing movies, the intro to WoW was just wow..o.o XD

But yeah, i'm glad I left FFXI even though the new expansion has come out and I really wanted to try it. I'm kind of surprised I haven't got into trouble for gil buying, I haven't bought any but a few friends of mine have quit and sent me gil from like 300k-700k. There is no problem like this on WoW, ofcourse you get the odd gold buyer but it's not as bad as FFXI. You can actually afford somewhat decent equipment

Oh, and I don't hate FFXI, I think it's an enjoyable..when, and that's when you have a partyand that's only IF it's decent, but then again 80% of xbox 360 FFXI users aren't exactly going to learn about their job and the roles of it before Valkrum Dunes, so more fun for those who want to level the new jobs XD. The whole game is pretty much based on working in a party, I think if they made it into so you can actually solo to level 75, but still have the party aspect to it, so it would be like
Solo - slow, but faster than sitting there for 3hours waiting for a party then get into a party and earn about 5k exp the it disbands.
Party - quicker then soloing but won't have to sit around waiting for nothing.

I think it's even worse now that windower is broke because of the new udpate you can't even do something else like talk on MSN, browse some forums or whatever whilst playing FFXI..o.o

I agree with a lot of points that you brought up, the GMs on FFXI are morons, quite a few of them anyway =/ They kind of brainlessly follow what's in the book..
Gilsellers are on the rise lately, seen 2 full parties of them around Jeuno and in an exp area this last week alone. ._.
But seriously, the game is very unbalanced, you can't solo jack, even as a BST (or DRG ;x ) it is hard. Everything that matters requires either a full party or alliance, that's kinda screwed up if you ask me...
I like the game but really because of the people I met/meet, I think it's fun to play with them and explore areas with them. If it wasn't for that I think I'd quit quite a while ago.

The only way to really enjoy the game, is to get about a party worth of friends to join and just static all the way. No waiting, no n00bs, no annoying elite members that are leveling another job and think they are better than you.

I think if you, grae, aeyze, tsuji etc.. weren't on FFXI after the first free month, I probably would of quit too. It's pretty hard considering you don't know what job to do either and to really get into it you need to be like level 20-25, and I guess I chose the really bad times in doing it.

There is no reason for the economy to be like it is, no other MMO I have played is like it. Leveling is such a grind, and then grinding for gil is even worse. The only time you should have to grind in a game, is where you like 1/2 of the max level maybe a bit higher. There are alot of elements in FFXI, that would make it such a good game if they just changed a few minor points or added a few, and actually did work to sort the economy out, it would do alot of good.
