I noticed that in the monster arena, the pointcost to exp ratio is pretty poor. The higher level monsters initally offer more exp for greater money but in the end only supply a very poor amount of EXP for the points you are putting in, in comparison with the weaker monsters. I've noticed that you get the most exp from battling Dire Wolf than any other monster in the monster arena.

heres a rough layout of what i mean.
Monster Money(EXP) equal to battleing the monster multiple times.
------------------------------------
Dire Wolf 10(3), 20 (6), 30(9), 40(12), 50(15), 60(18), 70(21), 80(24), 90(27), 100(30)

thu.Flan 15(4), 30(8), 45(12), 60(16), 75(20), 90(24)

munmar. 20(4), 40(8), 60(12), 80(16), 100(20)

trai.Bot 50(5), 100(10)
------------------------------------
now as you see it is guaranteed that by fighting the Dire wolf. you will get more EXP per point used than any of the other monsters.
as you can see, by using 90 points on the dire wolf, you can 27 exp, as opposed to using 90 pts on the Thunder Flan, in which case you only get 24 exp for the same ammount of money.

also, by the time you use 100 pts on the dire wolf, you get 150% more exp than using 100 on munmar, and 300% more exp than using 100 on the training bot.

you should probably have a fixed ratio ammount, just for example like 2pts per 1 EXP, that way, no matter what monster you fight, you pay the fair ammout.

so lets set up an pretend table of battles consisting of 2:1

Dire Wolf 6(3),

Thu.flan 18(9)

if 18:9 can be simplified to 6:3 (via divide by 3, for the slow ones :P) then you know you are paying the right ammount. that way, no matter what you are battling, you knwo its is cost effictively equivalent to battling the previous monster(s) a multiple ammount of times thus saving time.

On the other hand, some people play games for fun rather than an opportunity to sit down and numberchase.
I bet you're the kind of person who plays MMORPGs and works out the best XP-to-time areas and then just camps them constantly?

So Irr, before the next version is released, I might track you down and have a chat about default values for various things in the RPG if you don't mind being credited on an at the time of writing this uncreated credits page ;)

The main idea of the RPG, was to keep activeness within the forum by offering exp for posts etc, about a year or so later someone made a monster arena.
I don't think the monster arena was made for you to spend your forum life sitting in there battling, earning monsters. You should be happy with the fact you get the choice to earn more exp besides posting, because it never use to be like that.

See, what I like is.
If you post you get exp for free + you even get gil for it..

If you post you get exp for free + you even get gil for it.. look, this is my first time on a rpg forum. I much rather perfer forums that focus on design, It isn't my fault there is a noticable flaw in the system. This is what feedback is, an observation then a suggestion to improve on a flaw. If you dont agree with what i say, simply say so and post up reasons instead of telling me that something flawed is ok and is flawed for a reason, i really dont think that is the case. Th reason for the rpg is to intregrate fun with the forum, which is a good idea since plain forums are somewhat boring unless they have some competition around like within the designing forums i go to. If theres no competition then its just boring. the RPG system was a great idea so there is nothing wrong with improving it.

i have to agree this is a flaw too... since you would expect that a battle that is hard would earn you more than a battle that is easy...
