So is anyone else here watching the fabulous Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya? About six weeks ago, nobody had even heard of it, yet it seems to have taken the anime world by suprise. Why do people keep raving about how good it is? I have no idea, I can't put it into words, but I'm finding it wonderfully good.

So what is the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, you may be asking? Without spoiling the story too much, it's a science-fiction story about the protagonist, Haruhi Suzumiya, who on the first day of school exclaimed she wants nothing to do with normal humans, instead asking for Aliens, Time Travellers, Sliders, or Espers (people with ESP, I assume), to join her.

It's quite a fast pased adventure show, not as manic as FLCL, but it's quite clever; it has stereotypes but they have twists to them. The show's aren't shown in chronological order, either. This jumping around might annoy some people, but each episode (so far) seem's to be self-contained with the over-arching plot behind it, so it doesn't bother me too much.

I urge anyone who hasn't seen it to go and get the first few episodes, and watch them. So far, only 6 have been shown on air in Japan, and 5 have been fansubbed. I know I for one can't wait for the rest of this series..

I don't think 'kinda wierd' even covers it at some points! :P

I pity all of Haruhi's friends, really. Especially that loli girl!
