Square Enix has announced in a presentation that the Fabula Nova Crystallis - Final Fantasy XIII project will consist of 6 games next to Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII.
Rumors are that Final Fantasy Haeresis XIII will be the next game. The game hasn't been officially announced yet, but Square Enix trademarked the name in the US begin this month.
According to Yoichi Wada, the president of Square Enix, the Fabula Nova Crystallis project will take 10 years, just like the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII project.

Does anyone else miss the days when Square didn't do sequels or money-grubbing, but just made good games?
Also miss the days where people didn't complain about things so much.
People think it's money grabbing, but then again FF13 and FFV13, are gonna be2 different games to suit different people's tastes. The 6 titles are obviously gonne be for some handheld consoles aswell, so everyone can experience FF13, not everyone is gonna have a PS3

FF13 and FFV13 aren't even the same game are they? They're (from what I've seen) two completely different games. I don't much like that either - why number two completely different games as the same game?
Also miss the days where people didn't complain about things so much.
I take offence at that and consider it flaming.

# Flaming Do not insult or offend other members!
Looks like one to me.
The reason FFXIII and FFVXIII are two different games under the same number is because they share a common "mythos", like the rest of the 6 probably will.
They share a common element, even though they follow completely different stories and have different styles of gameplay. I like this approach, now we're getting two games before FFXIV, and two is better than one!
Also bear in mind two different development teams are making them, so they wont be rushing one to do the other.

6 FFXIII games? Man....I think the FF series is getting out of hand now. Sigh....it used to be about making the best quaility game that they could, now it's all about the money. No offence to anyone, but I think the FF series is getting worse.....
Wait till you've played FFXII before you say that.
Bear in mind THATS been branded by those who've reviewed it as one of the best games ever, and possibly THE best RPG!

Well, I have no doubt that FF12 will indeed be an superb game, it's just that I think FF isin't what FF used to be anymore. Meh, I guess im still hoping for some chance of having a simillar game to 7,8,or 9.....that's what im trying to say.....I guess. I don't even know what im on about myself anymore lol. Just ignore me....

Its undeniable that gaming is a major industry these days. In order to keep up with the competition, any firm would want to make their share of money instead of making a slim profit for all their efforts.
Just because SE is going to make many games under the FFXIII flag, it does not mean that the games they are making will be crappy or otherwise. Im sure that they have a standard to live up to and will perservere to create the best games possible for us the consumers. After all, why not take the opportunity to strike while the iron is hot? If SE can make a great profit and provide great service to its fans, its a win-win situation for both sides.
Not only that, there has always been the debate on which FF is the best etc. Perhaps SE is trying to balance things out by creating different genres for the same FF. That way it will at least suit different peoples' tastes.
As everyone knows, the PS3 wont be a cheap console and not everyone will be able to afford one with its initial launch. By branching out to other consoles like the PSP etc, it gives an opportunity for those without a PS3 to experience FFXIII too.
Just my 2 cents. I do not disagree with anyone but I just wanted to say how I view the current situation.
I really truly honestly can't be bothered with another final fantasy... they allways end up doing the same thing in the end... just a different way to do it.
