I was checking out the Invision Power site and thinking of puchasing IPB, when I noticed that the "Buy Now" page was insecure. Considering how many sites use IPB, I thought this was a major problem, so I contacted customer relations, stating that their site was insecure. This is what I received:

"The pages are https:// pages and they are therefore very secure."

I replied, "Just because a page is https:// doesn't mean it is secure." And I even sent them this image to prove it:
http://www.valituruscross.com/ipinsecure.png. They replied:

"I am afraid that we are unable to receive attachments via our ticket
center. I can assure you that all payments are made through the same site using https:// and that all payments are extremely secure. If you
prefer you can contact out office and pay over the telephone:

Toll Free within US: 1-800-901-5491
Outside US: +1 434-316-7201 "

-----

"As Debbie mentioned, our site is secure. We have never had any issues
with credit card payments. You are welcome to call our offices on
Tuesday morning to make your payment over the phone if that would make you more comfortable. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let us know. Have a great day!"

I am really ticked. On the Invision Power homepage, it states:
"With a focus on developing both high quality products and first-class service, we are able to meet the needs of any size business."
Suuuuuuure. I'm not saying that Invision Power is bad, just the opposite. I believe IPB is very well composed. I'm just saying the support is kinda tacky. What do you think?

I think it's insecure because of some images that are not loaded secure. Don't see any other insecure things.

But why are you buying IPB? vBulletin is much better. :P

Don't get your panties in a twist! The buy now page is perfectly secured with 128-bit protection, they just (rather foolishly) use images from a non-secured part of the site, which is why you're seeing that error. Of course, this can cause people like yourself to be put off, so they should probably sort it out, but I don't really consider it as it is much of a security risk.

All right. Thanks very much, guys. :) I think I'm just used to IPB.
