Was it because you couldnt play as Tidus or Auron? The gameplay? No sphere grid? Whatever the reason is, how come you(if you are on of the people) dont like this game?
I personally enjoyed and still enjoy playing this game today, I adore the idea of only having three playable characters and better yet, there all females which really changes the males always being the heroes in the Final Fantasy games. One thing I dont like is the Blitzball system which is really dumb because the FFX version ruled way more but in general I think the graphics, gameplay, music, and everything else is really amazing and FFX-2 is a very unique game in my eyes.
So whats the reason(s) for hating this game? eh?
Its because they were all dressed slutty so everyones like "oh neos skin is showing run away"
The game may not of been the best, but it still had a somewhat good story, a very nice battle system, the dress spheres were a tad bit annoying, if they had summons it would of been better but guess if they did, story would be changed. But yeah it was good.

well actually its very simple, yeah i enjoyed playing it, as every FF, but still, i donno everyone but for me FFX is a great game, and liked it tons, i've finished it off 20 times by now, and well, it was like nothing what i expected the X-2 ya know, the story was nice, yeah, but what for...all the ppl in the game was changed, not the same chars, so its not same story after all, the game was so "no FFX" what it was suopse to be, thats why i didn't like it

It wasn't really cause they were dressed slutty. It was more the whole game I didn't like. The game was really girly, I don't care if a game is girly, but the game was REALLY girl, or so I thought. Second, I liked the spheregrid, and going from spheregrid to dresspheres was just too make suckage for me to handle. The battle system was ok, but I found I personally kinda screwed myself over, kept using the same dress spheres and ended up only being able to use that one cause the rest were too weak. I kinda liked the super dress spheres, or whatever they were called, been awhile since I'v played it, and will be awhile before I ever play it again. Only problem with the super ones were that only that char got exp, leaving my others exp-less if I used it on a boss. Summons would have helped make the game better, but that wasn't too bad. I didn't care much for so many extra missions though, since you had to do all/alot to get the "happy" ending, which I'v yet to see. In fact I never bothered beating the game. I don't know exactly what it is about the game that made me not like it.
Oh, and Rikku looks better with shorter hair....
I didn't like the game much. Not because of the way they dressed, if I wouldn't like a game just cause of the character's dress styles I would never even have bought it :P
I didn't like it because...
-For my feeling, they changed around Yuna and Rikku too much. Especially Yuna. Her personality was shy and polite in the original, but in X-2 she just seemed very naggy and annoying...I liked Yuna & Rikku in X but they annoyed me in X-2.
-The story, although not BAD, was definitely one of the worst in the series (not counting games like FFTA). Yeah ok, you went to search for Tidus, fine enough, and then suddenly discover that there is another weapon that could destroy Spira in a jiffy...it was kinda cliche to me, nothing that we haven't seen before really. It wasn't very deep unlike the previous FF's.
-Some of the music was plain annoying I thought. Granted there were some nice songs such as the music that plays when the opening plays (the piano theme), but some musical pieces started to sound dull after hearing them on repeat...
-The characters (not just the 3 main chars) reactions to questions & situations felt awkward and unnatural...they seemed to react either overly hyper/happy, or overly indifferent, or overly corny or girly.
-The endings kinda sucked :|
-The new Blitzball sucked SO much. Lame.
-I didn't like Sphere Break either >.>

^--- Quite what I think as well. They changed around Yuna's personality far, FAR too much. She's meant to be searching for her loved one, Tidus, and what does she do? Act like a happy lil gal' as if nothing's happening and the world's all good. Sad, sad and dissapointing work, SE. =X
Also, there was only one music piece I enjoyed listening to quite alot, which was the main theme, I forgot the name but it was a piano piece as such.
As for the story, the one thing I liked was the massive twist of Vegnagun(SP), but it sort of ruined the feeling of how I thought of FFX then. FFX was quite flawless for me =X FFX-2 sort of butted in on that feeling, but I made sure I kept the two as "seperate" games if you wish to call it. I really didn't want to relate the two games much at all, only for the characters and story as such.
Other than that, everything else that Kim said. :P

Oh please you dont know what sluty is.There outfits are more womonized it gives the feeling that they are older. Not sluty If you want to see sluty walk up to a Prostatute thats slutly. And Not all there out fits shows skin. Now if all there cloths were 5% cloth and 95% skin then I would agree with the sluty. But I like there out fits so I still dont agree with you on outfits. Now I liked the dress spheres It gets boring if you look at the same out fit same attacks all the time.I think it was a brilliant Idea. Now The only summons they had were there pets did you relize that Yojimbos dog is Yunas pet in the Trainers Dress Sphere now that was Cute!
Now I hated the blitball but I beat it did you know that you could play the new team Zanarkand abes. That was awsome!I also liked the Spear break just a little. But if I ever wanted to play blitzball I always go to X because its cooler!

Uhm, I gave a BUNCH of reasons why I hated X-2 in some other thread, so I don't feel like explaining each one in detail again, but, it wasn't JUST because of the sluttyness...
The game was alright. It is, however, by far the WORST Final Fantasy. How OPS2 gave it 9/10 and FFX only 8 is a mystery.
Reason 1. The music. THis is reason one because barring the songs it was god awful. Utterly. Completely. Boring repetitive techno. Terrible. And the fact that during seriously mega dramatic parts of the narrative (Think places where Judgement Day or The Castle would play from FFVII and VIII) they played the god damn happy-go-lucky MOOGLE music made me weep.
Reason 2. The story. Compared to all the other FFs it was weak. Wasn't toooooooooo too too too bad, but it wasn't particulalrly good. ANd seeing as FF games are usually the strongest around for their stories it was a disappointment.
Reason 3. Dresspheres. The Sphere Grid in FFX was pretty cool, if complicated. I did not like the dresspheres at all. It was easy enough just to find one for each of the characters and stick with it (for me, Yuna was a gunner, Paine was a warrior and Rikku alternated between Warrior and White mage). It wasn't challenging and didn't make you plan like the Sphere Grid did.
Reason 4. Blitzball. An enjoyable side game in FFX.... a tedious management sim in X-2. Got bored 3 seconds into the 1st match. Stuck at it until halfway through the second match before I lost the will to live and put it down.
Reason 5. Mission Complete!!!!
There you have it, the top five reasons X-2 was poor next to other FF games. Still quite an enjoyable experience (and yes I DID complete it 100%) but nowhere near the quality of the other Final Fantasy games.
The only thing it had that WAS better was the best ATB system to date.

I sure donīt know why some people thing so abpout the game. I think, itīs the greatest FF game ever!!
1. Man, it sucked: Everytime, the boys were the big heroes. Now the girlS ARE GOING TO BE THE HEROES!!!!!!
2. The music is girly and great.
3. Itīs nice, that you can play girls.
4. The voices are nice
...
There are so many things to say. But I wonīt. I am too lazy :)
But itīs a great game, maybe there are other good ones, but no one is better than this!!

wheni first got ffX-2 i thought it would have been really good just like FFX but when i played it i was disapionted by it for 1 reason NO SUMMONS :(
i just think about the game too much and pick out the little things that went wrong about it and i think thats why you came up the the most useless reasons why you didnt like the game
yeah the game was different because a girl was the main playable character and the boys just want to be heros all the time
i do think ffx was a much better game because its the best ff ever made but not every game can live upto that standard
-Blitzball, anyone?
-I could never ever get 100%. I've been stuck at 99% after 5 play-throughs.
-The battle lines were rather cheesy.
-The game has hardly any replay-value for me other than to try getting 100%.
Other than that, I just liked a few tracks and the graphics were amazing. But it has made me skeptical for any future FF?-2's.

It was not ONE spesific thing i didn't like.. It was the whole game, I didn't like the Battle system, FFX was much better, I hated that mission time shit, and the tragic music, and the fact that you can only play with girls, that makes the game VERY girly.. the summoning is gone, thats a loss, the whole sphere hunter thing, what's that?.. Final Fantasy shoud have a good and solid story.. and X-2...X-2!! it shoud be more about the X not just play the whole game, just to find tidus in a fish..
No.. The whole game was a fiasko... Things are goind down after squaresoft joined Enix..

Okay, because lots of Fans said, that the game just sucks, Iīve played it one more time and here is my new opinion:
Bad opinion
- Bliztball just sucks!! It was boring, and because it was boring it was really hard. I canīt do anything which is annoying me.
- Okay, story wasnīt as good as X. X was so...so...poetry-like. I found it nice. Well, this storyline is a little confusing, and I canīt find any sense at all. Yuna, searching Tidus, forgot her own old personallity. It was a little boring.
- I found it a little bad, that I couldnīt always use the grid to change.
- Some really annoying music >.<
- Yuna īs face looks a little crappy after she sings Real Emotions O.o
- I found Rikku was prettier in X
- I think Paine is lame
- Awwww, that was kinda hard to play Q.Q
- Monsters appeard lots of times on every step
Good Opinion
- I loved the grid-system! I found it just great to dress the girls up again and again! In battles, Iīve always hurted the rival only a little, to change the grids.
- Some sounds and songs [like 1000 Words and Real Emotions] were awsome!
- The videos had cool and nice animations
- I found it soooo cute as Yuna in the complete Ending said: "See? You didnīt disappear..."
- The backround graphics were really nice^^
- YAY! Finally girls are the heroes! Öhm...heroines^^
Iīll give this game 8/10 īcause I found it good
The story is alright but you think that they would make it a little longer like adding 2 more chapters to it

I heard that people didnt like FFx-2 because of the last boss--was so easy to beat [no offense if that's not it but just saying]
me personilly i didn't like it cause it was a sequeal to a bad game and those are always horrible and they also took out the good blitzball

The only reason people say X was a bad game is because they thought Tidus was gay, usually...
And I think one of the biggest reasons was the music and just the battle style in general. I pulled it out again recently and tried playing it, but I gave up in about 10 minutes for these reasons. They annoyed the crap out of me...
well you can't blame them tidus is stupid and moronic he made the game stink to high heaven

He is, that is true, but you actually find people like that in real life. He acts like he's a big-shot celebrity because in Zanarkand, that's exactly what he was. Also his backstory is very confusing but interesting and well crafted, much like Cloud's in FFVII. And also, just one character does NOT make a game bad.
does to me i don't mean any disrespect but tidus ruined the game
I quite like this game. I was sad that you could not Summon Aeons like the previous game.
I like Yuna's new look, but they could have explained what happened at the beginning a bit more, I mean, Yuna sings in a concert, they fight her, Then, she changed into someone else and throws something called a Garment Grid which hardly anybody knew anything about and suddenly she changes into someone else. ( I like Rikku's new look though ;))
I think the garment grid is neat. It reminds me of FF2 and the job system.

People have different reasons why they don't like the game. Personally, I thought the game was okay. I don't mean to offend anybody, but the game was a little too girly for me you know. Other then that the battle system was pretty fun and action-paced. The storyline seemed fun too.

Hmmm... I played this game about last month.. I do like this game but it's definitely not worthy of being an FFX sequel.
In my oppinion...
1# The music is way too spunky.. They should lessen that and add more FFX feeling tunes.. I can't take some of the missions seriously due to the music..
2# Too little playable characters.. I understand they have dresspheres but it's nice to see another different face when playing with my characters.
3# Outfits were way too revealing.. Personally, I would rather not see those body parts..
4# Very weak storyline.. I felt like about half through the game, I was "fooling around" with stupid missions that really didn't get me anywhere really.
5# The theme wasn't very balanced.. Very womanized. Even though I am a female, there is only so much girliness I can handle. This was way beyond that level.
6# The transformation of Yuna annoyed me a lot. I really liked Yuna of FFX because she seemed to be mature, and polite. Well.. They made her into more of a rebel on X-2.
7# Not much control over.. Equipment, and blitzball. I loved Blitzball from FFX, they really ruined it in FFX-2 ^^;.
8# Summonings.. In every FF, you were able to summon but you didn't even have any access at all to them. Instead, you had to fight them. Couldn't you just gain their power after fighting them or something (lol even though they were being controlled by evil).
9# The difficulty level was way too easy compared to FFX. I found it kinda boring.
10# Also, lack of freedom at times. Sometimes I get tired of always being on that ship. Couldn't they all just get off that ship and go camp somewhere XD Or they should have added more secret areas.. I also thought that area where you can access in Zanarkand by going down the stairs (you enter a cave-like area).. That was just lame.. How did that cave exist in the first place? Did it appear under some dimension path portal place?

Here's my opinion
I've played the game a lot lately, so I'm dying to tell you, what I've been thinking while I played it!
Good Aspects
First of all, I gotta say, that Yuna really does look better in X-2 than in X- I can't really seem to figure out why..It's just like that.
The Songs were great! A little jazzy, a littler poppy, nothing to put on a CD nor on your MP3, but it's fun to listen to 'Real Emotion' or '1000 Words'. The song '1000 Words' fits the game and everything, that Yuna was going through PERFECTLY. There's no doubt in it.
The Characterdesigns and backgrounds were neat and nice, though, I still think, that a few parts were a little too dark (for my taste).
The Sequences, that told the actual story were perfectly fine (although the similar animations still bug me). It was great to play as a girls team, especially with the sphere grid! I totally spent 6h with collecting dress spheres and training them, to be more powerful: It's fun!
Bad Aspects
Okay, the Animations suck! It's always the same thing and it's freaking me out! Plus: The acting of the characters: Yuna beeing melodramatic everytime she saw a monster she recognized from before really really pissed me off! It's not a friggin act you know?
The other voiceactors could have watched that and could have tried to stop Yuna's Actor from jumping off the cliff, you know? (That was just metaphorical)Next thing, I wanna say is:Some fights just took toooo long! For example: In Chapter 3, you've got to battle Gakir (or something like that), a Ronso, that wants to kill another tribe, because these killed one of his men. People. That fight took me a whole hour! Although I knew, that I can win, although that guy was weak: It took me one friggin hour to kill that beast (even with my special dressspheres). The Hell, I don't want to imagine, how long it would have taken me to defeat that guy with a normal dress sphere! Really, the people from Square Enix are overdoing it with the HPs!! Last Thing: The Battle Animations. I haven't timed it, but I think that the battleanimation of ' Final Act' (Yuna's special dress sphere) already stole 3h of my life, and I want them back >.< It's great, that you can turn the costumechange transformations off, or make them short, but you can't do that with the attacks! It drives me crazy to watch the same animation over and over and over again >.<
That was it (I can't say much about the story, since I'm not finished yet)
Miley Winters
As a standalone game, ie without the Final Fantasy label, FFX-2 was good. Reasonable story, funny moments, good battle systrem etc. But when you say "Final Fantasy", peoples expectations are raised. When it's a Final Fantasy game its no good just being "good" it has to be exceptional.
FFX-2 was not exceptional and it was very different to previous FF games in most ways. It was tough to take seriously to the most part cause it had been...."blinged up" for want of a better word.
Maybe if it had been a sin off rather than a numbered sequel. Like: Final Fantasy X: The Secret of Spira it would have been better recieved. Certainly a better spin-off than Dirge of Cerberus: FFVII. But as a sequel it falls short.

It just didn't feel right. What I mean is when I played ff 1-9 They felt like final fantasies. The later ones don't have that old ff feel that I love. Which is okay because they wanted to do something new but I'm just worried that ff is going to change to drastically and not every one will want this change.
I did not like the way that all the original characters were stripped away. U Can visit some Whouptie do!
