The new Chocobo system

I'm really looking forward to the new chocobo system in Final Fantasy XI that allows you to breed your own chocobo. Also you can mate your chocobo with a chocobo of your friend.

Likewise here, I can't wait till they implement the AF for the new jobs too! Though can you imagine the rush there'll be for coffers XD

I wonder how the chocobo breeding will work out O_o I hope they implement things like different sizes, colours and speed etc, maybe even give them some wicked intelligence where they won't go where you want if you mistreat them xD! Would make the chocobo races a lot more interesting. I wonder if they'll make it accessible form all the chocbo stables too, or just the ones in Jeuno or Al Zahbi o_o!

You know what Square-enix will do though, they will try to make the chocobo system better, it will be fun for a first few hours/days then you will just get bored because you will probs have to grind 10x more for like chocobo stuff or like spend hours and hours trying to train the little shites XD

If it's not too expensive though, it'll be a great alternative to having to rent that damn Tele Mea choco :|

I'm really looking forward to that! It will hopefully give a nice edge to the gameplay, something to do other than the main quests and also something better than a small minigame :D

However...

I was just sitting here and it all fell into perspective... bear with me - Okay... I just realised that we're talking about actually spending our hard earned gaming time.... making over grown yellow chickens have sex.... not bad for a days work but I never realised just how perverse our minds must be (to some extent :P) But hehehe its gonna be a lot of fun :D

Btw guys, don't put them on the rest plan if possible, it's bugged, your choco will go to sleep and it won't wake up again. Hopefully there'll be an update come monday.

well it turns out that i have a 25% chance of my choco being blue /cheer its name is Blitzchaos and im on like day 29 or so and im really excited i cant wait to ride it for the first time and i hope that it turns out to be blue

I finally started raising my own choco, called it Northern Star (wanted to name it Yellow Snow at first, but I'm gonna see how the raising turns out first before I do something silly like that :D I'll definitely name the next one Yellow Snow though!)

Hmpf.. I got a standard yellow chocobo (who apparently can just about stand my presence and got poor in every stat). I won't be surprised if it has died from starvation when I get home though. >.>'

I haven't logged into FF for ages, when I do it's just to check on my choco, lately he's been sick though. :( Been the last 2 times I checked @.@ Gave him grass but he's not really improving yet.

Same here. I only come online to check on my chocobo and then I go offline again. I ain't really interested in Final Fantasy XI anymore like I was used to be. :(

Same here, taking kind of a break from it (not counting the choco checking), I guess since more and more of my friends have been quitting =/ 3 quit this month alone, and since half of the game is about the people you meet, makes it kinda hard for me to come on :P (odd since I'm in the more interesting level range on my DRG, and I love my linkshell) It's kinda time consuming anyways, and real life calls more than a game atm. @.@

Anyways as not to drift off topic too much, my choco's all better now =D He's doing good again xD

I'm on the Kujata server, and (though this is just a wild guess ;)) I'm the only one on that server here, eh?

I'm kinda having that hard time aswell, I'm not sure if I really want to keep playing. It feels like the longer I stay, the harder it will be to quit later. The last time I got to play, though, I decided that I'll just do what I feel like, and worry less about the cost for maintaining the job I switch to (If I get poor, then I'll have to manage) or if I feel like exploring, I'll just go do that. Well, you probably get the picture.

Anyway, that's maybe a bit off topic, so to say something about what I think of the new chocobo raising system, I still take a standard chocobo from one of the local stables. (I'm to lazy to go all the way to San'Doria to get my chocobo calling item...)

Maybe it's fun if I think about it but as of now, I don't feel like caring ;)
