ive heard their cd.
it was pretty amazing.
i like radio/video, most of their newer stuff is okay.
never really listened to their older stuff.
and i like byob. and in my car [i think thats the name of the song]
their a good band and their pretty crazy.
they will make a crowd mosh like crazy, which is good.

Same. They don't appeal to me as much as they used to, but I still get a kick out of singing and dancing along to Cigaro, This Cocaine, and Violent Pornography when my friends come over. We all get a kick out of that :P

System of a Down is varried, as I realized just a couple weeks ago.

All their albums sound great the first couple times, but they start to kind of loose their luster after a few months.

The original was heavier than most, but when it came down to it the only good songs on the album were Suite-Pee, Sugar and War?

Toxicity was even crazier and a lot more random. While it had many more great songs, the CD still sounded repeatative at times.

Steal This Album! consisted of mostly short obnoxious tracks for the most part, with the exceptions of Boom!, A.D.D. (American Dream Denial) and Mr. Jack.

Mezmerize, I feel, was their best album. Almost every song on here was great (I never really got into Old School Hollywood...) despite what people may say about B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Bombs) being so bad because it's so overplayed.

And Hypnotize was incredibly good as well, though the fact that it was more Daron singing in this album kinda ticked me off. Still wanna see the full version of Soldier Side as a single. That's my favorite song from them...

All in all, I think the band seems to be losing their fame, but that might just be me :P

yarr system of a down i used to like them a lot but now I got over them for reasons.i totally loved them for a time and listened to nothing else because I could relate being insane to their album toxicity.damn that album was good.but now I look at them and I almost know that they won't come back even if they do i have a bad feeling that they'll be sounding just like they did in their last two albums.they probably cant produce that sound again

i recently got steal this album and it was a lot better than mez/hyp

now i'm mostly into slipknot and slayer

Mezmerize was horrible. Daron did most of the writing on Mezmerize and Hypnotize, and it shows. The crappy simplistic guitaring, songs like Violent Pornography, Kill Rock and Roll, and Cigaro with it's cheap hooks and frills were written to appeal to silly little kids who like sweary words in their songs. Unfortunately it's songs like those that muddy the album's little heard messages, they whimper in the face of earlier albums which scream political and social issues.

Whereas it feels earlier albums were written with a sense to get the attention of intelligent people who liked to listen to heavy music, with songs like Know, Suggestions, War?, Prison Song, X, Toxicity, ATWA, in my opinion these songs are much written much better than newer songs.

Steal This Album was a nice filler full of nifty little songs that were good to sing along to (such as Egobrain and Mr. Jack)
