^ Command and Conquer. Lovely series, mostly RTS games except for one game called C&C: Renegade which is a FPS. Favourite ones are Generals and Generals - Zero Hour, awesome ones, Red Alert 2 is alright, but I prefer Generals and Zero Hour cause i'm like, alot better at them, xD.
I think Generals is the worst, they got rid of the GDI and NOD teams!
The only game I still actually play now is Red Alert 2 and even that isn't very often. :D
Who do you mean by DGI and NOD teams? It's not like it's meant to be the same game :P It's meant to be different from Red Alert, since obv. a new "mini-series". MAKING THEM ALL THE SAME WITH A FEW NEW FEATURES WOULD BE *YAWN* BORING :P

you have a point.
Yuri's Revenge was the best!

I always thought that Red Alert 2 was the best. I never got the expansion pack but I got a mod for it that pretty much added all the new stuff into it, and it just rawked!
I really liked them all, except Renegade. I just like RTS games.
I wasn't a big fan of Red Alert 2 cause I sucked it, compared to Generals and Zero Hour. And I also only played Yuri's Revenge a bit, but when I played Red Alert 2 I was only a wee lad, xD. So I could be better now... xP.

very simple, or the game plays to slow, or the AI works to fast, try taking on to 7 brutals, or even better, 7 brutal yuri's
Because I didn't play it as much as I did with Generals and Zero Hour + I was only a wee lad and wasn't so skilled with games, xD. And I maybe cause your just better at that game than I am ;_;

I really need to get a Command & Conquer game sometime. The only game I have is C&C Red Alert Retaliation for PSX. I saw the Combat Pack a year back, but now it's sold out. Can't get it anywhere. :(

Oh man! Awesome game series! I was looking for a link to download one of them yesterday. Don't care which one it was. I just need a strategy game. I was even about to download Civilization! :P But yeah, WarCraft III got me pissed off to the bone, and I needed another strategy thingy...But I can't find a Command and Conquer Game! :(
LONG-ASS POST WARNING! xD.
Man I started playing Renegade again (found the CD when I was cleaning up) like two weeks ago (not that much now - too busy) and man is it fun, multiplayer that is though. The Multiplayer style is just different and awesome, you have an actual "base" which you and your team have to protect (well there are different modes like CTF but that's the main one) and certain buildings to certaing things. Like firstly there's two teams GDI (good one) and NOD (bad one, though this only applies in Campaign not like makes a difference in multiplayer except weapons, vehicles, etc of course) and each team has a Tiberium Refinery (usually an area to collect tiberium which gets you cash, though you get cash automatically anyone like depending on what the server rules are, usually $4 per second though when the tiberium harvest comes back from it's harverst (btw it's a computer-controller vechicle) you get like maybe around +500 just like that, probably bit more or less) and a Power Plant (gives everything power, but they can still function with it, except the guard towers which are GDI - Advanced Guard Tower and NOD - Obelisk). Then they have buildings with similar functions only different names. Like GDI has a Weapons Factory which produces the vehicles you buy (with the credits earner, which you can also earn from destorying enemy buildings, vehicles and units aswell as reparing them too) while NOD has an airstrip where you'll see a plane come by and drop your vehicle you bought. Obviously if that's destoryed then your team can't make any more vehicles. Then for GDI there's a Infantry Barracks which has the characters you can buy (from the campaign) which each have certain weapons (you can pick up weapons though, but if you buy one char. and he/she collects a few weapons then later on buy another one everything that char. had will be lost), health, armour, etc (there are also free ones but they're not that great), GDI has one called a Hand of Nod, inside each one theere's a beacon pedstal, if either team places a beacon on that pedstal (on the enemy one of course) they auto-win, but only if it fully counts-down. GDI have an Ion Cannon Beacon while NOD have Nuclear Strike Beacon, you can play them anywhere (gotta give it a few seconds to put down then there's like a 30 seconds countdown), though if you put it right next or into a building then that's buildings gone, unless of course players with a repair weapon (only one, buying engineers (free) or technicians have them auto-matically) use that to destory then it won't destory that buildings. Basically destroy all buildings and you win. If refinery is destroyed, other team doesn't get any money just like how weapons factory/airstrop and barracks/hand of nod is destoryed you can't buy vehicles/characters. And if PP is destroyed then the guard towers won't function, AGT has small laser things which killed units with two shots but not vehicles and a rocket launcher on top, obelisk is a charge-up laser which will auto-kill unit in one shot but you have like maybe 3 - 5 seoncds to get out of the way (basically hide behind object) and does like a fair bit o' damage to vehicles. Yeah that's the basic "thing" behind the multiplayer for Renegade - I tell ya it is damn fun, there's always servers where you can play the campaign maps as co-op though the enemies are placed in different sections unlike the normal one and there's a purchase terminal (there's usually a 1 - 5 in each building on multiplayer so you can buy things) every now and then on the map, also the enemies respawn after maybe 30 seconds, maybe less, unless of course you kill them ALOT they won't respawn. Yeah fun game, xD.

Sounds familiar to me, but I've heard some bad things about C&C Renegade...
Just played C&C: Retaliation on ePSXe and it worked! Now I can play the game with mouse! :D Just like the C&C games on PC. :P

I was just trying Skirmish Mode with 4 players on Normal Mode and I got annihilated  ...
dont rely on tanks which cost 2000 bucks its good yes but slow to build and slow mobility, concentrate on the other fodder tanks, build faster and you can get like 2 or 3 tanks instead of the 2000 bucks one ( overlord tanks ,mammoth tanks etc)

I built a base, they came, I died. I blame the crappy flame towers! >.>

my favorite is c+c red alert 2 cause generals just plain sucks and i cant run the other ones on my comp.(i have the theater of war c+c collection):) id ask if some1 wanted to play online but my dial up is to slow.
Also I believe Renegade is based on the original C&C game, or one of them, I dunno I forget, maybe it's Tiberium Sun or something, xP. I never played those games except Tiberium Sun (like twice for a bit). I wanna try the original C&C game... never played it before, xP. And yes I must admit Renegade has it's bad points (mainly in Single-Player). It has a poor AI system, but that doesn't matter when it comes to Multiplayer, xP. And some maps have a few minor glitches and... yeah and some other small things, but still a fun game. AND WHAT'S WRONG WITH GENERALS? xP.
Ah, Renegade. Good fun for a while.
Yesterday, when the net was down, I played a few matches on C&C:RA2 against some computers. Jolly good fun.
I personally have a copy of Generals, I use to play it all the time...the old days are gone. :(

Bought a copy of C&C: Red Alert 2 today for cheap. It works fine on my PC with Windows XP SP2. Only the discs are mixed up, the Allied disc is actually the Soviet disc and the Soviet disc is the Allied disc.
Still it's nice to play. Never actually played a C&C game on the PC.
Red alert 2 is best. Generals is good but a bit laggy on my comp and harder to use than RA2.
Rai: You still have or play Renegade? xP. Might be able to play against each other or something (though maybe we'll just find some server with no one in it). And if you still have it, do you have Gamespy? Easier to find each other there.
Well I was never too good at Red Alert 2, but that was before when I a little kid and didn't play RA2 that much either xP. I'm sure if I played it now i'd enjoy it more - maybe even more than Generals *coughunlikelycough* lol. Generals is still good and it's prob. only laggy on your comp cause your comp sucks, like mine =D xD.

I've been playing Red Alert 2 for a while now and I really like it. I started with the Allied and I'm at mission 7 right now that takes place at Pearl Harbor. Looked at the mission for a little while and it looks hard.
Pearl Harbour is a good mission, but yeah its pretty tough. Havnt played RA2 in a while, might start again. Its much better then Generals which I felt was a bit disappointing.
Well I didn't have any expections for Generals (let alone know of it's release until like my cousin showed me this new C&C game, wasn't a big C&C fan back then either lol). And well i've only played RA2 a little bit - not all that much. Maybe I should try it out again and well Generals/Zero Hour is still pretty fun if you ask me.
Any news on a new C&C game? I liek generals but I think RA2 is the best so far. They should make RA3 or something, huge story, tons of mission and new vehicles etc. Generals would be better if I had a better graphics card!

They sorta are ... http://pc.ign.com/articles/571/571432p1.html
I can't wait to see what they produce, should be good! :D
Yeah but keep in mind in the mind all they said was they're working on a game BASE on in the Red Alert universe and yeah hopefully (like IGN said) it won't be a Renegade 2 lol. That game sucked (as in single player - the campaign and everything), but multiplayer was still fun. But yeah i'm thinking Red Alert 3, but who knows maybe they'll surprise us with something else.

Yeah but they tried another game instead of RA3 last time, Renegade, and it failed.
I would be very supprised if they tried something else this time as well. Red Alert all the way! ^_^
That would be so cool! Generals was good I thought but way too short and skirmish wasn't much fun. Waypoints wernt as easy to use either and I used them all the time to create 5 way attacks in RA2!
RA3 would rock more than the Rolling Stones!

Some days ago I found something on the net that EA is going to release one DVD with 10 years of Command & Conquer games. The DVD will contain 12 (!) C&C games and is called C&C: The First Decade.
Did anyone buy it and is it worth it? I only have Red Alert 2 atm.
Is it released yet or going to be released? O_o and well quite franly i've NEVER heard of it lol, but depending on the cost I might get it =D Well then again maybe i'll just go and get RA series pirated instead xD. Well, would all of the RA series be included on it? And i'm doubting that Tiberun Sun will be on it since isn't that liek a bit older than Red Alert?

Here's a complete list of the games on the DVD, and Tiberian Sun is on it too. :P
Command & Conquer™ (August 1995)
Command & Conquer The Covert Operations™ (April 1996)
Command & Conquer™ Red Alert (October 1996)
Command & Conquer™ Red Alert The Aftermath (September 1997)
Command & Conquer Red Alert Counterstrike™ (March 1997)
Command & Conquer™ Tiberian Sun (August 1999)
Command & Conquer™ Tiberian Sun Firestorm (February 2000)
Command & Conquer™ Red Alert 2 (October 2000)
Command & Conquer™ Yuri's Revenge (October 2001)
Command & Conquer Renegade™ (February 2002)
Command & Conquer™ Generals (February 2003)
Command & Conquer™ Generals Zero Hour (September 2003)And don't worry about the old games, they all work on Windows XP. :)
It will be released here tomorrow, so I think elsewhere it's already released.
Wow I thought Tiberun Sun was older than any of the Red Alert games, but I guess that just applies for RA2 xP. And what's C&C: The Covert Operations, never heard of that one. That is an RTS game right or what? lol. And damn I thought there was just Red Alert, Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge, but there's liek two other ones (expansions?). Well yeah that's not too bad acutally lol.

Yeah, the only one that isn't a RTS so far is Renegade.
The boxset was released over here on the 7th of Febuary, and I bought it ...
[EDIT] - It arrived today, nice packaging and all on one disk. I'm currently playing through the original Command and Conquer! ^_^
It's a total of around 9GB's for the complete installation, also comes with a mini poster of a satellite-thing! :D

I've seen it in the stores yesterday and there were only 2 copies left. I didn't bought it, since I thought I got to many games to play (I haven't finished Red Alert 2 even). Seeing how good this collection sells here I still might get a copy, before it's totally sold out.
i have beaten the generals game.
Zidane007nl
19-04-2006, 00:06
I only beat Red Alert 2. It was a very cool game.
My favorite units are Kirov Airship (slow but destuctive) from the Soviets and the Prism Tank (let's shock people :p) from the Allied.
Yeah I beat Generals awhile ago (atleast I think I did. Well I did most of the missions (if not all) for all three nations) since... it IS pretty old xD. I never got around to playing the Campaign that much for Zero Hour, nor do I plan to xD. It's more fun when your playing multiplayer (usually I team with my cousin to beat the computers, liek on Generals - we eventually got to beating 6 Brutal, but "Brutal" on Generals is nowhere near "Hard" on Zero Hour) and stuff. I have yet to beat 2 Hard computers, but I haven't tried yet either - 1 Hard easy pretty okay, maybe i'll try 2 Medium first or 1 Hard and 1 Medium xD.
C&C games are great and fun - actually, my first ever PC game was Command & Conquer, the first original one. Ever since then I fell inlove with the series. Have anyone bought the recently released C&C pack that include all of the games?

I've bought the C&C: The First Decade pack three months ago. I've only finished Red Alert 2 and the expansion and now I'm playing the original Command & Conquer. It's a nice game so far, but the movies aren't. I see lines when watching. This shouldn't be, right?

The Command & Conquer series rules, I have the original for the PSX, Red Alert 2 for the PC and Tiberian Sun for the PC, there all great games but I think C&C: Generals is a bit crap to be honest, in general the game series is great!
Red Alert two and Yuris revenge were the only ones I played. They were awesome. ;)

The thing I also don't like about C&C: The First Decade is that it doesn't make use of the DVD, and installing the original C&C already takes up 1.2 GB on my harddisk. Installing the entire pack is about 10 GB of space...
I used to rawk online too. My ranked game rank was 73.

Totally right. It does take alot of space, more than I would have expected.
I do agree with you, but, I don't find space a problem. I have the computer to myself and I keep it clean (don't keep anything I know I wont use).
i have got the old c&c games but now they are in an updated format so you can play them on the new windows.

I've played the C&C series a long long time ago, I got it for the PSX when it first came out and fell in love with the game. So I started to get the others from the series' as they were released. My favourite was Red Alert 2 for the PC, I used to play it online alot too, and whopped everyone online, (although alot of people would use hacks, cheating fags.) Then I got the Yuri's revenge expansion, and so forth. I have nearly all of them excluding that one that's in first person shooter format, Generals I think.
Personally I prefer the older style of the game, I dunno, something about the older version that was more authentic, I loved the Cutscenes, with the American General and Joseph Stalin (lol), the Russian dictator who is power mad. I liked seeing which countries controlled which regions, and I could choose which I wanted to take back, like my own course of action.
My favourite in the older versions, we're the Tanya models and the Prism towers, they we're awesome.
In the newer versions, I liked the Yuri blimps too, and those M.A.D tanks that explode we're pretty fun to play with too, lol.
Anyway, I haven't played C&C in a long time, I left my games back in UK. I would really like to play them again. ;[

I'm now playing Command & Conquer sometimes and it really looks old. The AI of the units are really bad sometimes. Like when a harvester searching for Tiberium and goes right through an enemy base.:9
I almost finished the GDI missions (I'm at mission 13 currently) and then thinking about playing an other C&C game, since I don't really like the original game sometimes.
Does anyone have any advise which C&C I should play? The only games I've finished are Red Alert 2 and the expansion.
Well don't play Renegade which is the FPS. The AI completely sucks and stuff (liek you're allies sometimes get stuck when following you or they sometimes don't even follow you at all and stuff, it's so stupid lol). But I have to admit, playing multiplayer online is pretty fun since you have liek two bases and you can buy different soldiers (like you be that one soldier and basically the difference is just either more/less health and different weapon, and of course the look ;p) which also include the main characters of the two sides. You can also buy tanks/vehicles and in some maps helicopters/planes. And obviously the idea is to destroy the enemy base xP.
Well yeah I would suggest playing Generals and Zero Hour, personally I find them pretty fun but I know a few other C&C dont like them as much as Red Alert 2 so I guess it's just up to you lol. You may wanna also play the Tiberian Sun Series which include the original C&C and it's expansion and a few others (Renegade is also part of the Tiberian Sun series, since teh storyline is based on it)
Also the newest Command and Conquer game is coming out in March which is called Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars which is apparently the sequel to Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun. Oh and there's also a new race in it which are aliens known as Scrin. And much like Warcraft 3, there's buildings where you can hire mutant mercenaries which are stronger than normal NOD and GDI units.

Yesterday I've started with C&C: Red Alert and its much better then the original so far. The AI isn't as bad as in the original.
I didn't finish the original actually; at the last GDI mission I'm getting a memory error when I almost have destroyed the whole NOD base and finished the game.
