It's like some kinda murder mystery xD

I was reading the Independent a few days ago (lawl, I like to read the news :3) and I think it was there that I read it, but there's even the idea circling that he may have killed himself o__o;; in order to implicate the Kremin for assasination.

For those not in the know (shame on you :P) Litvikenko, he was an agent from Russian who critisized the Kremlin and fled from

Here's some URL's of information from the BBC website

>> Russian reports on the death (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/6199676.stm)

Lots of other resources online if you're interested, or just dig out any newspaper from the last week O: he'll be in there somewhere.

Was just wondering what other peoples thoughts on the matter were ^^

I dunno. I don't want to pour water on the subject but...why are we so bothered? I mean...the media have gone mad over a Russian, who...to what I know was only really heard of whilst in his deathbed. That's the guy's only claim to fame. Now by all means, he's a bloke who's been poisoned...but had he not been a spy, would he have got as much attention? Of course not. People are making such a big fuss outta some bloke just to see if someone ends up firing on the Russians. It's just not right.

My own personal opinion is...I honestly think...he was running from something and killed himself. I think it sounds like some bloke who was angst against the Russians and he's gone and topped himself with something poisonous, just to make it look like he was knocked off, rather than suicidal. God bless, the Russians. I think they're fantastic people for their alliance to us during WWI and WWII but this is really very stupid.

I really have no idea what to think! He was a former KGB officer, and the KGB was like America's FBI, CIA, FPS and the Secret Service. Vladmimir Putin the current president of Russia started his career working int he 5th Directorate of the KGB.

Litvinenko could have been killed by many people. At the time he was poisoned he was investigating the death of a reporter who frequently and publicly spoke out against the russian government and the president.

I don't think he poisoned himself, they do know where the poisoning happened (at a sushi bar) so why do it there where other people would be potentially harmed? He wouldn't do something like that.

Polonium 210, if too much would be used it would have killed him almost instantly. If too little had been used he would have recovered, the correct amoutn was used, whoever did it knew exactly what they were doing.

You have a very fair point, don't get me wrong and I honestly don't know if someone would just kill themselves BUT...there's still nothing to say he didn't kill himself. If he was gonna make it look like someone else had done it, he would do it where other people would be potentially harmed. Reason being, it would cause mass-hysteria (as it pretty much has media-wise) and it would have people point the finger instantly at Putin. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of Putin but it still makes sense.

PLUS...he was a KGB spy, right? Surely HE'D have known the correct dose. If he was gonna plan a suicide but make it look like someone else had done it, he'd be wise enough AND have the tools to go about doing it convincingly. But I do agree to some extent as I don't know the truth either obviously, maybe someone else DID kill him.

I think it was murder, whether or not it was the kremlin, who knows, we may never find out.

Well...it makes sense aswell though (Jeez...don't I sound such a hypocrit? lol). I'm thinking chances are he either killed himself or just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time...and died. Although, I still don't know why the heck we should cover it so much.
