View Full Version : Rose of Pain [Mature RP]
Right here we go, this is going to be an RP based off the play Romeo and Juliet (well you'll get what I mean). This is going to be the same jist etc etc - two lovers caught between warring, in the FF8 case, Gardens Balamb and Galbadia for the hell of it bleh blah de bleh..... anywho. Until our 'Juliet' get back off holiday, its just really going to be the run up to my character meeting her so... yeah... anyway, lets get it on. (note its going to be set in the same world as FF8, about 25 years after the game took place) The story will start just before the SeeD field exam.
Name - [Name of your character - duh :P]
Age -
History - [A little about your character]
Alignment - [to which side (Garden) your character is with
Appearence - [If you dont get this one you deserve a slap]
Weapons - [Violence =D]
-----------------------------------
Name - Hide Leonheart
Age - 17
History - Hide is the child of Squall and Rinoa, who after being reunited finally settled down in a quiet part of the world. Due to his parents wishes, Hide was sent to Balamb Garden to study to become a SeeD like his farther before him.
Alignment - Balamb Garden
Appearence - Hide takes most of his physical appearance from his mother (only inheriting his farthers brown hair), but unfortunatly he has inherited his farthers emotional side, he is subsiquently open to depression and anxiety and is very quick to anger.
Weapons - Gunblade.
ame - Walton (good enough!)
Age - 17
History - came to Balamb Garden for obvious reasons, to become a SeeD. Not much else to say.
Alignment - Balamb Garden
Appearence - Is of just above average height, with not short, but not long, but not even medium-long brown hair. Green Eyes and is level headed and calm.
Weapons - Nothing much, just a simple sword. Nice and simple ey? :)
Hide sat quietly on his own in the cafeteria, most the other students had left for their classes, only a few stragglers were left finishing off their coffee or in one case hotdogs. Hide stared vacantly into space. He thought about what lay ahead, or what may not lay ahead. Two exams down and only one left (the field exam which was due in two days).
Hide thought about something in his mind for a few minutes before sighing and muttering to himself, 'Too much pressure...' he shrugged.
Walton hurried down a corridor to his class, bumping into people on the way and getting random comments of "hey!" and "watch it!"
eventually he arrived outside the class, and lined up to start the lesson, wondering where he left his pencil...
Tharrick
20-07-2005, 03:01
Name - Tharrick D'Entremont
Age - 18
History - Tharrick comes from a village near Balumb famed for its battleragers.
Alignment - Balumb Garden
Appearence - Impressively tall, at three inches over six feet, Tharrick's commanding presence and massive sword make him stand out in any crowd. His hair is completely shaven, and tribal tattoos cover his face, shaven head, and body. He usually goes bare-chested and wears a hakama.
Weapons - No-dachi (Japanese great-sword)
Hide looked up at the large clock which was shaped in the form of the Garden. Hide sighed as he stood up, making his way to class. He tucked his chair back under the table.
Now making his way through the corridors, he passed a group of girls who were secretivly whispering to one another about their own theories on where the field exam was going to take place.
"What about that breakout that happened the other day at the Prison, you know that one in the desert, they haven't quelled the rioting there, maybe they want us to go in..." The blonde headed girl said
"Don't be daft" said her friend impatient at her friends apparent lack of knowlage, "It's going to be Deling for sure!!!!!!!! The rebels in the city are holding the presedent hostage!"
Hide carried on silently down the corridor, thinking about what he had just heard, "Hmph... let Galbadia deal with their own damn problems..." he thought.
Being lost deep in thought, he hadn't realised that he was already stepping off the elevator at the first floor and was heading for the classroom. Everyone else was already in the lesson, confirming that Hide was late. Hide took a deep breath before stepping through the door into the classroom.
"Nice of you to join us Mr Leonheart..." came a stern skeptical voice from behind the desk. Hide cringed, no chance of getting in unnoticed then.... "Please take your seat" The instructor who was sat behind the desk was a middle aged man, in his early forties or late thirties. He wore a long pale light brown coat which went down past his knees and to top it all off a black cowboy hat. Thankfully the instructor he had, Irvine Kinneas, was mostly relaxed and thanks to him being a friend of his farthers usually went a bit easier on Hide than he did with most of his students.
"Please take your seat..." the instructor said calmly.
Hide walked over to his empty seat and sat down beside a friend of his, he retrieved something out of his pocket, I believe this is yours he said handing the pencil to Walton
Taking the pencil with a polite "Thank you" Walton continued to write notes on the countless words the instructor was scribbling all over the board.
Barely able to keep up, Walton referred to shorthand, skipping words here and there - and moreover missing the point entirely.
Slowly as the lesson progressed he became more drowsy, and his attention started to drift. Staring out of the window he saw a flock of birds chasing invisible insects, and often not looking where they were going and bumping into one another. He chuckled to himself and continued with his work. Occasionally glancing around at the class, who were all chatting quietly.
If only he could be included in one of these conversations...
He sighed, and blew pencil shavings everywhere.
Hide was taking little interest in the lesson... he had more important things on his mind that he couldn't shake off. He looked down at Walton who's nose was so close to his paper that if he breathed he would choke to death on his notes. Hide sighed deeply
"I take it he hasn't mentioned anything about where the field exam was going to take place, while I wasn't here?" he questioned looking at walton a bit rejectingly. He had been sitting beside Walton for years now... To tell the truth he didn't know what to think of him... he was a bit... different... although Hide hadn't really been a very social person... ever...

Tharrick glanced over at Hide and Walton, then leaned back in his chair with his arms folded behind his head. This was getting pretty boring, and he'd already covered this class before, having been held back a year due to his 'lack of restraint'.
He leaned over towards Walton. 'Boring, isn't it?' he whispered.
Startled by the questions, Walton choked on nothing. Clearing his throat he answered Hide with a "I'unno" and Tharrick with a "yeah... sometimes I can't remember what we're supposed to be learning..."
Praying for the lesson to end, Walton trudged on with his work
Name - Tani
Age - 17
History - Tani simply joined her Garden to become a SeeD. She is a loud girl, any many refer to her as "Childish" and "annoying." Despite this Tani refuses to change. Being an intelligent girl she excells in most of her classes. However, her mischeivious streak means she often doesn't turn up to her classes, and much prefers spending time with her friends in her Garden, seeking thrills.
Alignment - Galbadia Garden
Appearence - Tani has very long blonde hair, and bright blue eyes. She is a pretty girl, and is just 5ft 3".
Weapons - kusarigama (Sickle on a chain.)
Finally the minutes drained away from the life source of the lesson, the students seemed to have thier will to live drained straight from them as only the most hardcore of nerds were left hanging on every word the instructor said. Irvine looked around a bit dejectedly as his students slumped, some even asleep, at their study panels.
It must have been this, or maybe it was genuin consideration for the students well being but he stood up and gazed around the class.
"I doubt that I need to tell any of you that the field exam is only two days away now, and I Know there has been an aweful lot of rumours going around the garden that are speculating on the possible locations of the mission. As of this point, may I remind you that I myself..." he paused, "Or any of the other instructors for that matter have any information as of yet, the headmaster is keen to keep everything under raps as usual. So will you all please spare your instructors the annoyance of asking them if they know anything every hour." On this note he glanced over at a small group of girls who avoided his gaze in a guilty manner.
Irvine sighed, "Well, I think that will be enough for one day, there will be no lessons tomorrow to give you time to prepare yourself for the field exam. May I remind you all once more that the people who didn't pass last weeks written test cannot take part in the field exam... Dismissed."
On his final word an audiable sigh of relief spread across the class room, it however, was soon covered up by the sounds of people leaving the class room to persue other activities.
He looked over at Walton who seemed to look a tad worn out by his frantic scibblings, "So, what you doing now...?" he asked Walton, trying to use as few words as possible.
Walton looked up from packing his stuff away.
"Oh, uh... I guess I'm going for some food. Damn hungry." He said dismissively as he dropped his pencil again.
He left for the door, turned round and said "Hey you wanna come with?"
"So this is balamb garden!!"
Tani was standing in the entrance to Balamb garden, a grin spread across her face. She had never been to Balamb before, or even this side of the world. She had volunteered to be a transfer student, and before she knew it she had been packed off and sent to Balamb, where she would take part in the exam.
"It looks so different to Galbadia..."
Tharrick
20-07-2005, 13:57
Tharrick stood up, and stretched. 'Damn, but those seats are too small.' he said, as he popped the joints in his shoulders. He shrugged and walked out of the classroom.
'Should grab my sword from the armoury so I can go to the training area. That might help.'
"hmph... might as well...." Hide wasn't hungry having just been in the canteen but he thought he should show some sort of friendly gesture towards Walton. He stood up to leave with Walton but the instructor stopped him on his way.
"Ah Mr Leonheart, I need a favour from you..." he begun, "We have an exchange student coming in from Galbadia and I need you to go collect her from the gates and give her the grand tour..." he glanced around to make there wasn't anyone directly listening in and then whispered secretivly and informally to Hide, "I would go get her myself, having come from Galbadia too but... you know how your aunt Selphie gets when... I um... speak with... women......" Irvine Shuddered as if he had mentioned an unmentionable name. "So, will you do this favour for me, and I might just forget to tell your farther about the amount of times you've been late to your lessons when I next see him?"
Hide considered this proposition for a moment, "Ok..." he said quietly as if he was trying to be invisable...
"Ah good! Her name is Tani!" Irvine said as he rather hurriedly ushered Hide out of the classroom.
Hide looked at Walton apologetically... "I'll have to give lunch a miss this time... I'll see you soon though..."
With that he walked casually down the corridor and back down, in the elevator, down to the ground floor.
A young girl was standing at the enterence looking excitable... "That must be her..." Hide thought.
"Are you Tani?" he asked very stiffly as he approached her.
Tani smiled, waving her arms slightly, "YAH!"
She paused for a moment, looking down at her bags which were carelessly sprawled on the floor around her. Looking back up the male, she was still grinning, her eyes bright with excitement; "I was told someone would meet me..... Your Garden is very pretty!.. So who are you!???!"
"Yes... I am that person..." he said slightly mockingly. Hide extended a hand grudgingly, "Hide Leonheart..." he said glumly looking at the apparently hyper female. "It's my job to give you the 'grand' tour..."
"pft, suit yourself" Walton said, kinda disheartened by being ditched. He headed to the canteen alone, and grabbed a small table in the corner and put his bag underneath it. Looking round, he saw people chatting and joking on with friends. He got out a pad of paper and continued with some of his art.
Tani nodded, her blonde hair bouncing. Shaking his hand, she did so quite vigourously. "Pleased to meetcha! The exam is in 2 days, right? HEHE!! Should be fun!!" Letting out a sigh, she paused as if she was getting her breath back from talking so much. "Anyways! So let the grand tour begin....!!! Wheres the food...."
Hide sighed, "Follow me..." he said beckoning her to follow at his side. They reached the main information board, "Ok..." hide began, "This is all you really need to find your way around here, just one big map of the entire garden... just remember to take your weapon from the armoury before you go in the training center..."
He paused looking at the non changing expression of insane happiness on the Tani's face, "Any questions?" he asked as politly as he knew how.
Tani examined the board, muttering the words as she read them.
"I don't have any questions! HeeHee! I think I understand! My Garden is a lot bigger... So it can't be that hard to find my way around here!!!"
Although being a very quiet and quite antisocial person, Hide did the best he could to seem friendly, he even strained what could be called a smile (by science fiction writers). "Do you want to stick around with me and a 'friend' of mine?" he used the term friend VERY lightly... But... It was the best he could do
Tani's voice suddenly went quieter and much calmer.
"Yes. I would... I don't know anyone else here, so that would be good. Thank you!"
Within a few seconds, her smile had widened again, "So wheres your friend?!"
Concentrating on his art, Walton was in a world of his own. He'd drawn a picture of the canteen, and a snapshot of life in it. He paused and looked at it. Pleased, he put it back in his bag and got out his textbooks to read up on the exam. Not knowing quite what its about, he blindly read through everything in no particular order.
Soon, he got up and bought a drink, slowly sipping on it as he read the textbook. Choking on it once or twice.
"I..." Hide began before retracing his last few mental steps, "I.... don't know...." he said mysteriously. "Ah wait, he said he was going for something to eat... Canteen it is" He said already walking in the direction of the canteen, "follow me."
It was hard making his way through to the canteen with Tani due to the amount of students who were out of their lessons due to the impending field exams. But finally, they made it through to the long stretch of corridor that linked the canteen to the rest of the Garden.
Skipping alongside Hide, Tani hummed the basics of a song which had been stuck in her head her whole journey to Balamb.
As they reached the doors to the canteen, Tani didn't wait for Hide. She pushed open the doors, bounding into the canteen, grinning even more as she smelt the food.
"Mmm!!!!"
Hide... tried his best to hide the first genuine smile he'd had on his face in a long time as he took humour from watching Tani bound through the doors magestically.
The next thing he knew he was falling, ending up flat on his face. "Not so great now are you..." came a mocking voice from above him as a group of about three male students towered above him.
"**** you" Hide said loudly in anger and the pricks who had just tripped him over. His language got him a sharp kick in the face from the student on the right.
Hide got to his feet as the group of males walked off laughing down the corridor.
Tani had turned, and was back next to Hide. "STUPID BULLIES!!!" She shouted loudly at the three guys as they walked off.
Her smile had faded, and her face was full of worry. "Wh...What was that about?!?!"
Looking up from his textbook as he heard some laughter, Walton saw Hide picking himself up. Walton got up, and asked what was up, and offered to get Hide a drink.
"Nothing..." Hide said grimly standing up and looking down at Tani, while wiping the flowing blood from his nose which he clutched in his left hand trying to stop it bleeding.
"Um...Okay...."
Tani pulled a packet of tissues from her pocket, offering them to Hide. She then looked to the other male, a grin spreading across her face once more.
"HELLO!!!!"
Hide gratefully accepted the tissue which he held to his nose, the tissue worked better at stopping the blood. He considered going to the infirmary but he didn't need to... mainly cause it meant he would have to pass those guys again most likely. So instead he jsut put up with it and took Tani over to the table Walton was sat at and sat down.
Walton looked at the new person, startled by the loud greeting.
"Uh - hey!... Not seen you anywheres here... you new?" he asked whilst keeping an eye on his drink "OI! HANDS OFF" he shouted at some dirty scrounger.
Tani pulled a chair out, sitting down on it.
"I'm not new..... I'm just a transfer student!! Allllllllllllll the way from Galbadia!!!!!"
Grinning, she looked around them at each of the other students and teachers and SeeD in the canteen. "Hmm!" Pushing herself with her legs, she balanced her chair on its back two legs as she swayed, smiling for no reason.
Checking to see if his drink was still at the level he left it at, Walton decided to keep drinking.
"You want a drink?" He offered the new person. "Oh, I'm Walton by the way."
"You want to be careful how loud you go around saying that..." hide said, his voice muffled from under the small bundle of tissues and napkins he had now collected from the table and various places....
Walton choked on an ice cube.
"ahem" he said as clearing his throat.
He looked round and slumped in his chair.
"goddamn, what are we supposed to do in the exam?"
"My name's Tani!!" She smiled. Stopping for a moment, she played with her hair, humming the song from earlier. It was almost as if she was in a daydream, alone with her hair and the song in her head.
Snapping out of it, she wobbled slightly on her balanced chair. "I can't tell people I'm from Galbadia?! Hah, its obvious by just my voice!!!" She screeched in her hyperhappy voice, louder than before.
Hide cringed... really badly... "Keep your voice down" he demanded sounding a little stressed, unless you want to end up like muggins here..." he pointed at his bloody nose.
He looked over at Walton, "And we wont be finding out till the morning of the exam."
He nose started flowing again, "Thats it... I'm going to the infirmary... I'll see you around..." he said and with that he left the canteen.
Walton twiddled his thumbs and looked at Tani.
"Sooo..." he said, to break the silence.
"Why were you transferred here?"
Tani shrugged, "They didn't tell me. I'm guessing it's something to with the exam...They could have at least told me! Instead of keeping me in the dark! Haha!"
"Have you lived in Balamb all your life then?"
Walton and Tani continued there convosation for a few hours, all the time Tani accepted accusing looks and the odd sly comment that was spoken just loud enough for her to hear.
Hide got his nose fixed up.
The next few days went by uneventfully as everyone waited for the impending exam, no one knew when it was going to be until one morning, three days later to the headmaster's voice coming out of the tannoys placed around the Garden.
"Could all SeeD candidates please report to the main area of the garden where you are to be grouped into squads and will recieve further instructions."
Upon hearing this, Hide was out of bed and was pulling on his uniform that they had been issued with for use during the exam. Just as he was finishing the top button on his top there was a knocking at the door.
"Come in..." Hide said half expecting it to be Walton or Tani, or someone else of interest. Although he kind of hoped it was neither of these two as over the past few days Walton had been becoming a lot like Tani, her hyperness seemed to be coming off onto him rendering him at one point unbearable to be around.
The door opened and in walked a familiar face, one that he hadn't seen in years. Hide turned round swiftly seeing the Blonde haired mans reflection behind him in the mirror, "Zell!" he exclaimed happily" greeting Zell with a firm hand shake. "I'm fine kiddo" Zell said greeting Hide with just as large of a smile. "I' can't stay long, I'm just here to drop something off on behalf of your father."
"My dad..?" Hide said as if this brought back unpleasent memories, he hadn't seen his dad in a long time, he always seemed to be away from home whenever he visited.
"Yeah... well, he heard from an 'anonymous' tip off that the exam was today" Zell said as he innocently moved his eyes upwards suggesting the headmaster was behind this.
Hide was presented with a long rectangled box, before he opened it he heard Zell saying "Oh well, good look kiddo, ive got to be off now" as he left, closing the door behind him.
Hide opened the box and was shocked at what lay in the box
Tani's blue eyes shot open as she sat up in her bed. "Oh no!" Scrambling across her room, she pulled on her uniform as she went. 10 minutes later she was fully clean, clothed and ready. "I'm going to be late! If I'm late..Argh!" As she pulled open her dorm door she stopped, checking herself up and down in the full length mirror across her room. Nodding, she headed out into the corridors and towards the front. She still often got lost in Balamb garden, as she hadn't quite adjusted to it.
As she moved quickly towards the main area, she pulled her hair back into a ponytail, placing clips and other accesories into it as she went.
Reaching the main area of the Garden she cringed to see most of the other students already there. "Looks like I'm not too late though.." She grinned, heading towards a group of girls nearby, who nodded to her, signalling for her to go talk to them.
Hide gazed longingly at the contents of the box... He couldn't believe what he was seeing, his father had really given it to him. He noticed a small letter in the box, he unfolded it and read the slanted writing that he recognized almost immediatly.
'May it protect you as well as it did me' said the letter. He still couldn't believe this was really happening, he remembered back to when he was little when he used to practically beg his dad to let him hold it, but his parents always insisted it was far to dangerous for him. But now... it was his...
Hide held the gunblade in his hands, admiring its infinate shine. Hide snapped out of his trance realising he was going to be late, quickly he sheathed the gunblade and darted out of the dorm room with an extra spring in his step, something he hadn't possessed in a very long time.
Hide breathed a sigh of relief as he reached the main area noticing that he wasn't the last person there. He saw peoples eyes glancing over the weapon that now lay at his side.
Walton groped for his glasses in a drowsy state of waking.
Grudgingly, he got out of bed and put his uniform on. He had a wash, and got his sword. Not knowing particularly why, probably being tired. "Meh" he thought to himself, and stepped out into the corridor.
He wandered into the main hall, rubbing his eyes, and stood beside Hide.
"Mornin'" he said drowsily, and his eyes fell upon the gunblade.
Taking it in, Walton was lost for words... "Sweeeeet" he said, in awe.
Hide looked at walton, "I know... I can't believe it..." he said stiull partially recovering from the shock. And old friend of my fathers dropped it off this morning...
All of a sudden a strange silence fell upon the crowd.
The elevator came down from the top floor (the headmasters office) and stopped at the ground floor, the doors opened and out walked the headmaster. The headmaster was called Nida and was apparently one of Hide's fathers old 'war buddies' as he seemed to call them. Beside him walked a member of the garden faculty and a tall dark haired middle ages lady dressed in SeeD attire.
Everyone stared at the headmaster waiting for him to tell them what was about to happen.
"Soon you will all be faced with the toughest moments of your lives..." he began earnestly, "You will be taking part in a carefully planned operation for which you have been studying all these years for. This year will be different to all previous field exams, the reason for which I will explain soon. But now. I would like to let all of you know that it makes me proud to see each and everyone of you standing before me like the SeeD I know you will all become eventually." Nida paused to watch the reactions on the faces around him.
"As I was saying, this year you will not be alone in your mission..." this caused murmurs to be heard amognst the students as they wondered what this could mean. "This year you will be teamed up with candidates from Galbadia Garden." Nida had to pause to wait for the students to stop yelling out in protest, "I know how you all feel about Galbadia... But to be a SeeD you must be able to work with fellow SeeD no matter where they are from. That is why we have organised this grouping. You are to now be grouped into pairs of two, upon arrival you will be forming a 4 person squad with a group of two from Galbadia..." he finished silently.
Xu stepped forward and began reading out the names of the students and who they would be grouped with. As they were grouped the students began disappearing one by one with their 'partner' and were instructed by the faculty member to head to the Garage and find transport to the Village of Balamb.
"Students Walton Seagill, #9384 and Tharrick D'Entremont, #8878"
"Students Hide Leonheart, #4937 and Tani Yamamoto, #5746"
Tani waved bye to the girls she had been standing with, as she made her way through the crowds towards Hide and Walton. As she reached them, she waved, and bounded towards them.
"I guess you're with me, Hide!" She laughed, smiling at them. "Technically....you're going to have 3 Galbadians in your group! Oh Yeah! So I'll know them! HeHe! I'm so excited now!!"
Hide's heart had sank when he heard he'd been paired with Tani, it was nothing against her... he liked her... but... she was so....hyper... He hoped that she could be serious for once during the exam as he didn't want to get killed...
But his major worry was being in a group with three Galbadians... they could probably rip him apart when no one was looking, why couldn't he be with Walton, or even Tharrick...
"oh well.. we'd better get moving on our way to balamb..." he said to Tani
Walton bade goodbye to Hide, and headed off to find Tharrick, on the way he passed Tani and bid her a cheerful "Good Morning" and "Good luck!". He passed through the crowds and found Tharrick. He stood next to him, and said "Hey" politely, not knowing really what to say.
"Yeah, we better!!" She agreed, heading in the direction of the garage. She stayed quiet for most of the journey - apart from her constant humming of the song she had been humming since her journey 2 days ago. As they reached the entrance to the garage, Tani stopped. Her eyes widened as she looked around her as if she had forgotten something.
"Um...I need to get my weapon. I'll be back in a just a moment.."
Without waiting for a response, Tani ran in the direction of the armory. Once there, she requested her weapon. A few moments later, permission had been granted, and she was running back in the direction of the Garage. Appearing next to Hide again, she smiled. "Ready!!"
Hide, had he not been so nervous, would have smiled broadly back at her, but all he could mention was, "Come on then... best not keep the Galbadians waiting" he said sarcastically. He then remebered about Tani and profusly apologised, "erm, force of habit..." he said with a worried laugh.
Hide lead Tani through to the garage and opened the door to a large SUV type car. "Just the two of you?" the driver asked inquisitivly, "Yep, new rules this year." Hide replied, "anyway, to Balamb docks please".
And with that the engine started up and it wasn't long until they were on their way.

Tharrick stepped into the garage, using his sheathed six-foot sword almost as a walking staff.
'Hey, Walton. You ready?'
Tani sat opposite Hide. Restless, she fiddled with her hair and her long, manicured nails. Her gaze darted to the gunblade beside Hide, and fixated upon it.
"That gunblade. Everyone seemed so amazed by it! It's very shiny..... Why is it so special?"
hide grinned slightly, 'It once belonged to a very renowned warrior...' he said looking at his reflection glimmering back at him in the cold steel blade. 'very renowned indeed...'
Walton looked up at Tharrick "Yep, lets go - you lead the way!" He said, smiling.
"That's so cool!!! It's so shiny" She smiled, swaying in her seat. "Looks like a difficult weapon to master! Kinda dangerous too..."
Slowly, she leant forward and over the table between them. "Can I touch it!?!??!"
Tharrick

Tharrick climbed into the car, and began revving the engine.
'Balumb, we come.'
Within moments the two were on their way to the town.
'I don't like this place' Tharrick admitted as they approached. 'Born and raised in the hill-lands, I never did get over my dislike of the ocean.'
Walton stared out of the window, getting butterflies in his stomach.
He looked over at Tharrick, and kept quiet because of this air of authority that was being given off by the age difference. But Walton had to break the silence...
"so.. uh, what do you think's gonna happen...?" He asked, timidly.
hide leant back a little, "sorry... it was given to me by someone close..." he said almost sadly, he didn't want it broken or for her to kill herself with it
Tharrick

'It does not matter what will happen. My response will be the same - to fight, fight until I am dead or victorious. They hope to have taught me the 'error' of this, by holding me back a year, and denying the test to me, but I know already that there is only one true way of combat.'
"Fine!!" Tani sighed, sticking her tongue out as she leaned back.
A moment later their car came to a stop, and Tani was straight to the door. Pulling it open, she climbed out, stretching her arms above her.
"Balamb!!" She smiled, "I passed through here on my way to your Garden! The people are so friendly!!!!"
"... They always have been, they're always kind to SeeD and the students at the garden because the student population tends to be what keeps most people around here in buisness" Hide replied remebering the many nights of underage drinking he had encountered not so long ago.
He looked out the window to see the invasion craft in the harbour which dwarfed the small fishing boats that were docked. 'Looks like thats going to be our ride...' he said solumnly as the car pulled up at the docks. "After you..." he said holding the door open for Tani.
"I see..." said Walton, beginning to expect the worst should he come to fight people - which seemed pretty much certain.
"What's the plan then?" He asked, hoping to have some idea of what to do.
Tharrick
21-07-2005, 00:23
Tharrick pulled up at the docks, and gesticulated at the large military craft.
'The plan is to get into that. After that - there is no plan. Instinctive response is all that I shall require.'
Walton left the vehicle and walked alongside Tharrick, beckoning for him to lead the way into the craft.
Tani looked the craft up and down as they stood infront of it, tilting her head as she examined it. "That is one beast of a craft!!!!"
Giggling for no apparent reason, she ran towards the door of the craft, "What we waiting for?! LETS GET IN!!"
Tharrick
21-07-2005, 00:32
Tharrick ducked through the door of the invasion craft, and moved in a half-stoop through the low corridor to the troop area.
Hide found her lack of concious thought hilarious and followed after her smiling, nearly banging his head as he stooped down to get in the craft. The interior was much more comfy than he had imagined, there was a video screen at the front of the small interior. and some sofa like chairs which were enough to seat about 4 people.
The door closed behind Hide and Tani.
"Looks liek this is it... better get comfy... for now..." he said his voiuce wavering a bit with anxiety for what lay ahead.

Tharrick looked over at the newcomers, then saw Tani.
'Galbadian..' he said, with a sneer. 'I hate Galbadians.'
Walton noticed Hide and Tani, and headed over to them.
"Hey Hide, hey Tani" he said politely, "Feeling nervous? I'm shitting myself here!"
Tani tilted her head, her smile instantly gone as she looked to the unknown male.
"Yes. I'm Galbadian. Get over it!" She took a seat beside him, avoiding eye contact and keeping her eyes fixated on the floor.

'Do you know how many of my people were killed during galbadian occupation of our village?'
Tharrick leaned forwards in his chair, face reddening with anger, his fists clenching on the arms of the chair.
'Your people SLAUGHTERED my people. And now they expect me to sit here, with a Galbadian ****ing BUTCHER, as though we were having a cup of tea?'
He stood, and turned to leave.
As the four Students made themselves comfortable in the crafts interior, they felt the engines of the craft start. It wasn't long before they felt the craft begin to move.
Any conversation was scarce due to the result of both anxiety and Tharricks racial prejudice of Glabadians.
Just as it began to dawn on all of them that they had no idea where they were going, the large video screen in front of them sprang into a life of colour and sound as if by magic. Large red flashing words appeared on the screen "Briefing commence"
A voice then entered the video, "25 hours ago Both Galbadia and Balamb Gardens were contacted by the president of Galbadia who requested the help of SeeD."
A large map of the eastern Galbadian coast line appeared on teh screen and zoomed in on Dollet.
"A group of terrorists claiming to be 'freedom fighters' have been for two days now declairing and demanding Dollets independance from the rest of the Galbadian region. After many hostile threats from the terrorists the Galbadian government sent in a large army taskforce to remove the Terrorists. Non survived.
This move from the Government caused the terrorists to begin using Dollets Communications tower to broadcast anti-government propoganda.
Due to the severity of this, the government insisted more than one Garden be brought in.
SeeD candidates will be assisting Members of SeeD in this operation."
There was a long pause
"The leaders of each squad will be displayed on screen now, along with each squads mission"
sure enough a second later all the squads were displayed on screen, Tharrick was made leader of his squad due to experiance and to everyones suprise (including her own) Tani was declared leader of her squad.
Hide looked over concerned at Tani when he read their mission, "... That's... pretty... important..." he said concerned.

Tharrick pointed at the screen.
'Hostage rescue? Tell me that this is a joke. This has to be a joke. Kill a few shitbag terrorists then drag some civilians around?'
Hide turned and stared at Tharrick, "Would you rather they died?" he began coldly...

Tharrick snorted.
'Of course not. But there are other students or full SeeDs who would be far better suited for the mission. Tactics... were never my strong point. I would be more likely to get the hostages killed during my first wild charge.'
Tani's gaze shot from Hide to Tharrick and back to Hide. "No one would want anyone to die." She smiled.
"We will be arriving in a moment." She said, bluntly. "I think we will be placed with our other team mates then! Should be fuuuuuuuun!!"

'Nobody asked your opinion, bitch' Tharrick shot back at her.
Walton remained politely silent.
There was silence as they all went over the mission plans in their heads until an unmistakable sound was heard.
"INCOMING!!!" was heard coming from the radio of the cockpit, a deafening explosion shot around the atmosphere as the invasion craft violently rocked in the water. It wasn't long until all you could hear was explosions as mortar fire rained down on the crafts.
"****ing hell!!" Hide yelped as he was thrown into the side of the interior as a roundlanded near them.
Holding onto the closest things near him he realised he'd grabbed Tharrick's and Tani's arms. Letting go, he braced himself by holding onto the chair.
"Wha.." he said, dumbfounded as he was shaken out of his seat.

(THARRICK VIOLENCE NARRATION MODE = ON)
The invasion craft smashed up onto the shores, flinging brine and sand up in massive furrows before them, hatches in the front opening and disgorging armed warriors.
The charging SeeDs were met with a hail of gun and mortar fire, many of them falling as they approached the seawall at the far end of the beach, but the staccato stuttering of machinegun fire from the turrets on the invasion craft spoke loudly over the whistling of falling mortar shells, tracking incendiary rounds through the rebel forces, turning flesh to fire.
Falling artillery fire ploughed foxholes in the beach, showering the SeeD warriors with sand and shrapnel, but the combined forces of the two gardens formed cohesive formations, and their return fire was nothing less than devastating.
Within moments, the beach was taken, and medical specialists were running forward to drag the shrapnel-stricken wounded back onto the boats, while heavy-weapon teams dragged machine guns and high-calibre cannons up to form a defensive line around the beach-head.
Hide and Tani were standing around until a large hulking male (who Hide guessed was an instructor) came waddling over, "Leonheart, Yamamura?" he questioned, looking at them as if this was an interogation.
"Yes... Thats us..." Hide said just as coldly back to the instructor.
"Good... good.." he said looking down at a clipboard, "You'll be with.... Izaki and Foori" he said indicating over to a male and female both dressed in Galbadian SeeD uniform.
Tani smiled as they approached the two Galbadians. "Nice to see you both again." She said, obviously recognising the pair. After checking they all knew the mission and the briefing, Tani began to lead them across the bay, running between them with her weapon at her side, prepared.
Hide had never felt so uncomfortable in his life... he was in the middle of Galbadia with three Galbadians all, for all he knew, wanted him dead. His farther had always held a certain resentment for Galbadians, although when he talked about it, it would earn him a night sleeping on the sofa if Hide's mother heard him. He also often heard his mother saying that her husband was going to lose his 'privilages' because of it, when he was young he thought nothing of it, but as he grew up it came to the point where he wanted to claw his own eyes out.
Hide felt sick remebering these thoughts, "Best to concentrate on the mission ahead" he said to himself. He couldn't help but feel the two new additions to the group kept staring at him... or was it the gunblade they recognised.

Tharrick stepped across behind Hide, his massive sword resting on one shoulder.
'Watch your back, Hide. Galbadians are notorious for betrayal' he spat, glaring at the three butchers around his friend. He then turned to Walton.
'We have hostages to rescue. Let's go.'
"HOW RUDE! Hide, don't listen to him!!! He's obviously got problems!" She giggled, dismissing it. Continueing to smile she kept a tight grip on her kusarigama as it dangled at her side, feeling slightly uneasy about it all.
"Hm... he's right though" Hide thought to himself even though he couldn't believe someone like Tani would ever betray him or anyone... but the other two perhaps...
Hide gazed up at the tower that lay on the summit of the hill that towered over Dollet. The streets were that lay before them although clear of any dead or wounded people, had an unnerving amount of what appeared to be blood washing them. "They must have all taken refuge in the communications tower..." Hide thought as the streets seemed quite clear. "Although... maybe... maybe its a trap..." he thought remebering his training to never percieve something as something it may be but what it could be.
Walton said a hurried "G'bye" to Hide and Tani and followed Tharrick obediently.
Seperate from the others Hide, Tani and the two other Galbadians headed deeper into the town.
"It looks deserted, but there hasnt been a full evacuation or anything yet, right?"
While walking along the long, deserted, narrow street, Tani kept a tight grip on her Kusarigama, her palms covered in a cold sweat as she thought about the mission taking place, and her failing.
They continued making their way throughout the streets, each one more empty and eerie than the last. Finally, the four students reached a square-like part of the town. It was still empty, and had an eerie setting, similar to that of a ghost town. In the centre of the square was a large fountain, filled with flowing water.
Suddenly becoming at ease, Tani ran forwards ahead of the others and towards the fountain. Dropping her Kusarigama next to it, she lent over the edge, placed her hands in the water, splashing her pale face. "Mmm, much better!!!" She laughed.
Shaking the water from her hands she turned to the others, smiling. "I guess we should take-"
Tani's voice was cut short as her gaze shot across to another entrance to the square where she heard a suspicious noise. Immedietly her arms shot towards her Kusarigama for protection. As her hand touched it, a gun shot rang out as a bullet skimmed her hand, missing her narrowly and just spraying blood from the trail it left. Reacting, Tani moved backwards, her eyes wide
"It's an ambush!"
Out of the shadows formed a circle of rebels, they had the students surrounded... they were outnumbered and were staring death in the face. Hide held his breath and braced himself waiting for a thousand bullets to riddle his body. But nothing...
What appeared to be the leader of this group of rebels came forward, but not letting down his aim which was at Hides temple. "Put down your weapons..." he said in a menacing voice, "no..." Hide replied very bitterly, "I'm warning you kid, I've already killed some of you and I'll do it again if you don't put down your we...." he was interuppted in mid-sentence, "No..." Hide said once more this time more forceful and almost equally as menacing.
Tani held out her arm, dropping her weapon. As the Kusarigama hit the floor, it let out a strange sound, and Tani cringed at the thought of her weapon getting wrecked. A second later a male rebel stepped out of the circle, taking Tani by her arms and holding her securely, a gun wedged in her side, ready to blow her stomach to pieces if she resisted him.
"Hide. Do what he says." Tani said calmy as she allowed the rebel to get a grip on her. watching the leader of the rebels infront of Hide. Her eyes were wide, she knew Hide wasn't going to give up his gunblade easily just like she knew these rebels would murder them all without a second glance.
"You're no good to anyone if you are dead, Hide. Please do what they say."
Hide let out a disgruntled scream of absolute frustration as he almost smashed the gunblade of the ground, "**** YOU!" He screamed face to face with the person holding the gun at him.
Tani felt the gun go further into her side as Hide threw the gunblade to the floor.
"That hurts!" she protested, looking to the man behind her, who had a tight grip on her wrist, and the gun pressed against her side.
The man let out a snort, and moved his head so his mouth was next to Tani's ear. "Shame!"
Tani's gaze shot back to Hide and the leader as she heard his gun click, obviously ready to shower the surrounding rebels with the SeeD candidates brain. "This is all my fault..." Tani thought. "I let my guard down. Hide is going to die. We're all going to die.. It's my fault.. They don't deserve this!"
Tani's eyes automatically closed as she screamed, hearing the trigger of the gun.
The scream was enough make the rebels flinch with shock, Hide siezed perhaps this last glimmer of hope and wrapped his right hand around the hilt of the Gunblade that had stuck vertically in the ground due to him throwing it down.
In one clean motion their was a higher pitched scream than that of Tani's as the sharpened edge of the gunblade found itself in the rebel leaders groin, a large blast from the gunblade also sounded as Hide pulled the trigger, the shot sent the leader back off the blade and into the rebels stood behind him, knocking them all to the ground.
The next thing that Hide knew he could hear screaming as the two Galbadian students had used Hide's attack as a chance to cast two firaga spells on the rebels left.
The only one left standing was the rebel whom was holding a gun to Tani's head........
Tani heard the rebel let out a laugh, obviously feel happy about the situation he had now put the canditates in.
Tani spoke towards Hide, her voice blunt "Go. Now. The communications tower. You don't need me-"
"I think you'll all do EXACTLY what I say." Spat the rebel.
"Go on then, shoot me. Within a matter of seconds the rest of my team will rip you apart, and you know that. After all, can your gun kill all 3?" Tani smirked, STILL smiling.
"Don't threaten me, bitch! The rest of you drop your weapons, and put your hands above your heads. Do it, or I'll waste her before any of you can move." He snarled, moving the gun slightly as if to threaten them further.
"GO! NOW! PLEASE!!" Tani commanded to her companions.
"Fine" hide said, he threw his sword in the general direction or Tani, the gunblade stuck in her leg causing her to scream in pain as blood poured from the wound.
This sudden mutiny caused both the galbadian students to step back in both horror shock and anger, and also the rebel holding the fun at Tani to let go of her in shock of Hide's actions, allowing Tani to fall to the floor. Just the reaction Hide wanted...
There was a yelp of pain as Hide lunged forward with his fist hitting the rebel in the face, causing blood to pour from his nose as he stumbled off balance and onto his back, letting off a burst of bullets as he fell... all of which missed hide by inches.
Hide tore his gunblade from Tani's impaled and bloody leg causing her to scream in agony amongst her tears or pain. A blood curdling scream also followed as Hide drove his gunblade down into the throat of the rebel, causing blood to spray out from the artery covering the gunblades steel and hide's face.
Hide held the blade down until the scream stopped and all that could be heard was the agonising whails of Tani...
Collapsed on the floor, Tani gripped her leg with both of her hands, blood spraying from her bare leg and all over her and the ground beneath her. Tears still rolling from her eyes, she continued to scream as she held her leg tightly, throwing herself around as she went into shock, rolling around in her own blood.
Hide quickly knelt down by Tani's side, "LISTEN TO ME!" he said loudly, "Stay still... calm down so I can help you..." he said, but Tani wouldn't stop writhing, she probably couldn't hear him over all her screaming.
He turned round to the two Galbadians behind him, "Help me out here!" he ordered, but as he turned his head what he found instead was the female galbadian knelt by the male student crying over his still body. "Shit...!" hide muttered quickly turning his attention back to Tani, he was going to have to do the best he could for her.
Hide closed his eyes, green light wrapped around his hands before slowly moving and enveloping Tani's screaming body. The blood stopped flowing as the wound slowly became smaller and smaller.... until it was completely healed.
Hide looked down at the still screaming Tani and slapped her to make her come round, "You ok?" he said looking down very seriously at her.
Suddenly stopping screaming Tani lay still, her eyes still tightly closed as she panted heavily, tears still rolling down her cheeks. Slowly, she sat up. Opening her eyes one at a time, and looking down to her leg. Still hysterically crying she used her hands to feel where the wound had been.
"Y-Yes. I'm okay. Thank you." She said, nodding to Hide. "Are you three okay?" Turning her head, she looked across the square to where the other girl was knelt over their cold teammate.
"No..." Climbing to her feet, Tani stumbled over towards her friends. Kneeling down beside him, she lifted his hand up, gripping it tightly with both her blood stained hands as she rocked backwards and forwards, not taking it in, her warm tears dripping down from her face onto his lifeless corpse, "He's....He's.."
"...Dead... yes, the bullets caught him..." Hide said looking over at them emotionlessly.
"We'd better carry on... I don't want to be here all day, send the girl as a messenger to find us a replacement..." The only thing on Hide's mind was getting this mission completed... he looked over at the dead corpse and felt no hint of saddness... these things happened.
Tani froze. Slowly, she let go of his hand, placing it neatly beside him. Standing, she walked towards Hide, keeping her gaze directed at the floor. As she reached him she looked straight at him, tears streaming down her face.
"You're ****ing heartless. A member of your team-my friend...has just DIED at least show SOME SIGN OF ****ING EMOTION!!!!!" Tani was shouting and was now inches away from Hide, her fists clenched and full of anger.
Hide stared back into her eyes sensing her hatred and anger. His expression then turned to one of rising anger, he grabbed her raised fist tightly, "Tell her to take a message and find a replacement..." he said his teeth slightly clenched, showing the temper he had inherited also from his farther. Seeing the slight fear in her eyes didn't really effect him..
Snatching her fist away from Hide's grip she moved away from him, still staring at him. Tani walked over to where the girl was still kneeling and crying. Wiping away her tears once more she placed an arm around the girl, pulling her to her feet gently. She whispered something to her, talking softly and gently as she first checked she was okay, and then ordered her to go back and find a replacement. As the girl ran in the direction they had came from Tani walked towards where her weapon layed sprawled. Picking it up she walked in Hide's direction.
"I hope you're ****ing happy." She snarled.
Hide remained totally silent, "There is one thing my farther told me before I came back to school last term... He told me that no matter what was to happen on the field exam, get the job done. And thats what I'm doing, we cannot afford to stop cause of one death." He paused staring at Tani, "As soon as the replacement gets here we'd better get moving..."
"He may not have meant anything to you...But he was my friend.." She muttered, walking past Hide and towards the fountain. Keeping her back turned, she avoided Hide's gaze as she washed her face with the water, cleaning off the traces of blood.
"As for your father, he was obviously a arse." She muttered again, just loud enough for Hide to hear.
Walton looked up as someone came hurrying towards him. It was a woman, who looked like she'd been in a bit of a fight.
She explained to him that a replacement was needed, and he offered himself to go, and so followed the woman to where Hide, Tani, a few dead rebels and a dead man were.
"Nice..." he muttered to himself sarcastically as he stopped next to Hide.
"Hey you, thought you'd gotten rid of me?" He joked.
Hearing this hide seemed to snap out of his coldness, he caught up to Tani as she was walking away, he grabbed her arm and spun her round, "Watch what you say..." he said seriously, "You wouldn't be alive today, was it not for my farther" he told her face to face.
Hide turned away from her and looked back at Walton, "Nice to see you again" he said trying to strain a smile but failing horribly
"Hey don't mention it" Walton said, trying to lighten the mood as he was pretty sure the tension could be cut with a spoon.
He walked over to Tani, who looked pretty much pissed off "Hey... you alright?" He asked, making sure not to trip over dead bodies.
Picking up her weapon once more she smiled at Walton, nodding as she did so to answer his question and ignoring Hide completly as she walked past him.
"Time to go!" She said, her voice regaining its usual perkyness. She then began walking ahead of them and into the street leading in the direction of the communications tower.
Hide saw Waltons questioning stare at him, "Don't ask..." he said to waltons voiceless question. "We'd better get going..." he said as he followed Tani.
Taking the northwest exit out of the square they found themselves on the bridge that linked the communication tower area to the rest of Dollet.
As the began to run across the bridge something didn't quite feel right... Hide had a bad feeling in his gut.
Picking up as many weapons as possible from the dead bodies, Walton followed. Feeling lucky, and downhearted at the same time, that he missed a fight... he thought the best was still in store.
Wondering why Tani and Hide seemed to be a bit moody with each other, he caught up with Tani on the bridge and asked "Hey... what happened with Hide?"
"Well..." Tani started. "I just didn't like his attitude!" She grinned, "Nothing to worry about though. I'm safe. He's safe. You're safe. That's what counts now, right?" She laughed, cheering up as they continued up the bridge.

Tharrick turned to look behind him, and noticed that Walton was no longer there. He tapped his radio.
'Walton? Give me position, I can't see you'
Walton's radio crackled and Tharrick's voice came over.
'Shit' Walton thought, he'd ran off without telling Tharrick...
"Uhm, I got drafted into this group..." he replied, not really knowing how to reply "I thought that since you had all the experience of .. a year more ... you'd be able to handle it.. you seem to like working alone anyways..."
Tharrick

'Fine, you provide support to them. I'll take the hostage rescue'
He turned again, and began to run to the hotel where the hostages were being held.
"Stop..." Hide said abruptly... "Something's not right..." he sounded like he was beginning to panic, and thats when he saw it. "SHIT, GO RUN!! ITS RIGGED TO BLOW!!!" he yelled at the other two, he began to srpint for the other side of the bridge.
Walton ran as fast as he could, towards the other side of the bridge. Looking back to see if the others were keeping up.
They weren't more than halfway across the bridge when the charges blew, reinforced concrete was showered everywhere, Hide stumbled holding his arms over his head.
The bridge then began to collapse, their screams echoed as they fell. They smashed into the water below with force. Hide was the first to surface.
"Tani!? Walton!?" he screamed at the top of his lungs seeing that they were no where in sight.
Walton surfaced not soon after, gasping for breath, his eyes stung as the dust attacked them. As it settled, he noticed Hide, signalled that he was okay and proceeded to swim to the shore... only to find his leg was cut badly and it stung with every movement.

One of the rebels was leaning against the inside of the hotels' main door when Tharrick's huge fist smashed through it, catching him on the side of the head and flinging him several feet into the lobby. Gripping the door firmly, Tharrick ripped it out of the frame and hurled it into the building, crushing another rebel before he could even scream.
The third unfortunate guard met the cruel edge of a nodachi, cleaving him straight in half and dropping him to the ground in two places.
The two rebels keeping watch on the hostages turned, and began to head out into the hallway, but a six-foot length of razor-edged steel slammed through the door, impaling one. The other turned to fire on the hostages, but Tharrick barreled through the door, two hundred and fifty pounds of sheer anger, and landed straight on the rebel, grabbing for his head and smashing his face repeatedly into the floor until it was obliterated in a red mess and the body stopped twitching.
He raised his face to look at the cowering hostages.
'I'm with SeeD. Get up, follow me. I'm here to get you out of here.'
Tani hit the water quite a distance from the others, the second she went under she began to panic. Kicking her legs as hard as she could she attempted to get to the surface as she swallowed mouthful after mouthful of the dirty water. Struggling to breath she grasped at her throat, spluttering and swallowing even more. Opening her eyes she looked down to see her left foot caught between two rocks. Pulling at it as hard as she could, she could see the rocks cutting into her. With one last attempt pull, she managed to free herself. Continuing to kick she finally reached the surface, gasping for air as she looked around, her eyes stinging as she spurted the inhaled water.
Hide was now up on the make shift shore with Walton. "That was a close one..." he breathed as he inhaled the oxygen deeply. He waved to Tani as he saw her surface.
"Looks liek we've got a bit of a climb ahead of us..." he said as he noticed the steep hill the had to get up...
"Great..." Walton said, "uh, can you do anything 'bout this leg? I would, but I'm afraid I can't stretch down there without hurting myself."
"Here..." Hide said rumaging in his pocket and bringing out a small potion, "drink this..." he said a little detatched as if he wasn't all there.

Tharrick tapped his radio again.
'This is D'Entremont. Hostages are out of the hotel, we're making our way to the beach now.'
As he spoke, he grabbed another charging rebel by the ears and wrenched his head so violently around that the ears came off in his hands, and the body hit the floor looking over its shoulder.
Reaching the shore Tani smiled as she walked upto the other two, signalling she was okay. After a short conversation, the three began to head up the hill, directly towards the communication tower.
"Well at least I can finally get my breath back.." Tani thought as she climbed alongside her companions. "Whoever blew up that bridge obviously didn't want us to come out of the water alive!!! Ah well....We did it! Hee Hee! Almost there!!!!"
Before long they reached the top of it. Pulling herself up she dusted herself off, her clothes sticking to her from the water as she continued to drip everywhere.
Looking up Tani's lower jaw dropped as she spoke to the others, excited; "I haven't been this close to the communications tower before! Wowie!"
Tharrick
22-07-2005, 00:11
'This is D'Entremont! Do you copy? Walton? Acknowledge!'
He looked at the huge dust cloud in the distance, where the bridge had been.
'****. Right, you lot. You know where the beach is. Double-time it. MOVE!'
He turned and began to run towards the communications tower.
Hide thought about asking her if she had been to Dollet before but he htought better of it... he was a bit agitated by the way she had conducted herself back in the square...
"Well..." he began, "Lets go bust it up...The other squads must have gotten over the bridge before it blew so hopefull they're hiding in position... We're to attack on the hour, until then we must remain hidden."
Walton had drunk the potion before going up the hill, and felt better. Upon getting to the top of the hill he shook some water from his hair, then asked "hey.. weren't there four of us?... Tani.. Hide... me... and another woman?"
He then noticed his radio had been squalking at him, hearing that the hostages were okay, he replied with an affirmitave and relayed the news to th others.
Tharrick
22-07-2005, 00:16
'So you ARE alive. I'm on my way, be there in a few minutes'
"alrright then" Walton replied, and told the others to wait for Tharrick's arrival.
"I sent her to help with others. She was incapable of assisting us in the state she was in after witnessing her friend's death like that..." Said Tani in response to Walton's question, her voice trailing as she thought about it. "After all..SOME of us have hearts!" She said, glaring at Hide as she walked past him.
Hide ignored this totally... he was staring at his watch, "5...4.3...2.............1 right lets move" he commanded ignorently as he a few other squads came out of their hiding and started moving toward the tower.
The moment Hide set foot in the open, a hail of bullets started flying through the air as machine gun placements fired at them from the top of the tower.
"Heh! Looks like someone is prepared!" Tani sprinted towards the entrance, her weapon in her hand. She couldn't do anything about the bullets except dodge them, and even then she could only do so narrowly, each one aimed at her moving body an inch nearer than the last. Reaching the door she stood with her back against the side of the wall so she was out of range for the rebels at the top of the tower.
"Theres no way to know whats behind this door...But we have to go straight in."
The first squad ran through through the double doors and the sound of bullets ricocheting and explosions could be heard from within the tower. As hide entered the base of the tower he used his gunblade to swipe cleanly through a nearby rebel who fell to the ground in a bloody mess.
The moment she entered the base of the tower a female rebel stepped out of the shadows and towards Tani in a menacing way. Tani allowed the rebel to attack first. The rebel moved forwards, swinging a punch at Tani's head. Tani was quick to move and shifted underneath the punch and away from her opponent.
Still smiling Tani bounced slightly infront of her as if to playfully annoy her. The rebel reacted fast, pulling out a gun and aiming it straight for Tani's forehead.
"HAH!" Tani switched her feet. Bringing her left left up she kicked the girl's arm with all the force she had. The arm let out a piercing crack as the gun was thrown from the rebel's hand. Tani didn't wait for the rebel to pull out another weapon. Skidding forwards, she pulled her Kusarigama up. The motion she made forced the chain to wrap around her arm, and enabling her to hold it by the end of the sickle.
Tani thrust one side of the sickle up and into the Girl's chin. The girl let out a cry as she fell backwards, Tani falling with her. As she fell she brought her knees up, so that she landed ontop of the girl, and kept the sickle's end tight into her jaw as the rebel girl began to choke on her own blood, spurting it all over herself and Tani.
Tani smiled as she watched, "Sorry, I can't watch you suffer. You're annoying me." Tani pulled her arms back. The sickle tore from the girl's chin, blood spurting everywhere as it took her lower jaw with it. Tani closed her eyes as blood sprayed her face, yet didn't even wince at the loud ripping sound the jaw made as it was ripped from the girl's pretty face.
Standing up Tani looked around, and then back to the now cold body. "Bitch thought she could shoot me!"
Hide ploughed into the last rebel standing, the rebel screamed in pain as his flesh made contact with the gunblade which sliced right through him, cutting him clean in half. He looked around...
"That the last of them?" he questioned looking round at the other students. It would appear so.
"Ok..." he began since everyone seemed to already be looking to him for some sort of instructions as to what to do next.
"Looks like we're going to have to go up the top and take out whos left." the other students nodded and began filing onto the elevator which would take them to their final destination.
He looked over at Tani coldly and said "I take it you'll be setting the explosives..." He said bitterly, "Remeber set them so we have enough time to make our escape..." he followed up with as the elevator began moving upwards.
As the reached the top they were greeted with only a small handful of rebels. In an urge to get this over with quickly they surrounded the rebels who were only armed with short swords.
Placing her weapon down Tani walked towards a very large bag which had been placed near the entrance. It contained sets of explosives. Tani was to place them around the base, and set the timers for 10 minutes.
Begining to do so she placed the first at the back of the base. "Remember set them so we have enough time to make our escape..." She said, immitating Hide in a child's voice.
As she continued, she calmly placed all of them, setting them to co-ordinate with each other, just as she had been commanded. Finally at the last one, she sat infront of it, fiddling with it and humming a song as she played with the timer. As it clicked to ten minutes, Tani stood up. Turning away from it, she pressed something on her radio, to inform them all that she'd finished. "I've set the explosives for 10 minutes, as commanded!!" She told them, cheerfully as she made her way her way across the base towards her weapon... Not noticing the faulty timer click and decrease 8 minutes, leaving just two until it took place....
Hide's radio sprang to life just as he and his fellow students were cutting through the last few Rebels. Hide was impressed by all of them, although he wouldn't tell them that. But somethign about fighting with them all made him proud to think that he would one day hopefully have people like this watching his back. He agreed with himself that SeeD definatly were the cream of the crop.
"Right..." he said finally survaying the bloody mess. "We'd better get out of here now... before reinforcements arrive" he said to both himself and the others as he shoock the blood from his gunblade. "Good work everyone.." he said trying his best to sound as cheerful as you could in a combat zone.
Taking their time, they all climbed back on the elevator. Hide looked at his watch. "9 minutes left... Plenty of time he told himself"
Tharrick
22-07-2005, 01:36
Tharrick arrived at the broken stub of the bridge.
'****, how am I supposed to get across? You could at least have left me something! A brick, even!'
Tani was sitting near the explosive she'd set last. She heard the elevator move, the others obviously on their way down so they could evacuate like everyone else. Climbing to her feet Tani stretched her arms above her head and let out a yawn. "Mm, they better be happy, not just anyone can set these bombs and do it perfectly!!" She said, talking to herself.
As the doors of the elevator opened Tani waved to the others. Suddenly her attention was drawn to the explosive by her feet. Raising an eyebrow, Tani crouched as she studied it. The timer was blinking rapidly, the second Tani read the display she froze due to the shock. Snapping back into reality she let out a shriek, turning to the others across the base as she fell to the floor, scrambling away from the ticking explosive.
"14 SECONDS!!!!!!"
Just then the doors of the elevator jammed before the were fully open allowing only about two people to squeeze through at a time. Yelling and screaming could be heard coming from inside the elevator as everyone struggled trying to all fit through the gap at once.
Hide had to yell over the the yelling... he knew he wasn't going to get out... this was it, "Tani!" he yelled as if he was ordering her to do something, his voice fell silent. "Run..." he said which was barely audiable over the noise.
"10 seconds..We're not going to survive this!"
Tani looked towards the explosives. Ideas and thoughts streamed through her head, as she tried to remember how to stop it..
Panicing and with no success she ran across the base towards the doors of the elevator. Pushing past another student Tani grabbed at a side of the door. With all her strength she pushed and pulled, trying to get it open to help Hide and the others inside. A male student pushed through the doors and into Tani, sending her flying a couple of metres as he ran towards the exit. Climbing to her feet, Tani pulled a girl through the doors who was attempting to push herself out of the lift and was screaming hysterically.
"I can't help them all... We're going to die!"
5..." TANI! RUN! RUN NOW!" Hide screamed at the top of his lungs. 4..."One last thing..." he yelled lastly 3... "I'm sorry..."
"I'm not leaving half of my friends in this lift!!" Tani screamed, still pulling at the doors. As a male student pulled himself from the lift he grabbed Tani by her waist and arm, pulling her along with him and towards the door, protectively. As they reached the doors Tani turned, hearing the explosive click to 0. Looking towards the elevator she could see Hide half out of the elevator.
"NO!" Tani screamed, closing her eyes. The first thing she felt was the heat, the burning. The Bomb had reached Zero, the blast detonating all of the other bombs Tani had placed. The Tower was going to be in ruins within minutes, along with the deaths and injuries of hundreds of students in the surrounding area who couldn't evacuate.
As she was thrown out of the building from the force and the sound of the blasts roaring around them, the boy who pulled her from the base was covering her still, and stopping her from returning.
Covering her face, Tani continued to scream in terror as everything began to fall around them.
Out of the smoke and fire... A figure staggered, falling and stumbling with every step. Hide became very visable as he came closer. He stood not too far away from Tani, his face was covered with blood, his clothes were torn and tattered - he was in a very bad way.
Hide stopped and looked down at Tani and the male as things continued to fall from the sky, Hide was oblivious to this though. He took a deep breath.
"I..." he started, "I think it got me..." he finally spluttered out spraying blood from his mouth as he spoke. He then promtly fell the the ground in a crumpled heap.
Tharrick
22-07-2005, 02:13
Tharrick stopped his tirade as the tower blew itself apart, and stared at the collapsing structure.
'Walton? Walton?' he said into his radio.
'WALTON? DO YOU COPY? Does anybody copy? Is anybody there?'
Tani pulled herself away from the male, who had now loosened his grip. "Thank you for protecting me!" She said gratefully, thanking him.
Running towards Hide she dodged a falling large piece of cement. Falling by his side for a few moments she sat staring. "I've never seen injuries like this, I don't know what to do.... But we can't stay around here."
Using her radio, Tani used it to dial all surrounding radios in a desperate attempt to get help; "There's been an emergency at the communications tower. We need medical staff and emergency evacuation here! PLEASE!!" She pleaded, her eyes filling with tears as she looked to Hide and then at the crumbling mess around them as things continued to fall. Now crying, she threw her own body over Hide's as another piece of the surroundings fell towards them. "Someone help...CAN ANYBODY HEAR ME?! Please.....Anyone...."
Hide was looking directly up, he could hear Tani's voice, "Tani..." he said as she came within sight, "I'm so so sorry..." he said sadly, "I should have done more...."
"No...It's okay. Where is Walton?" She asked, looking around them.
Without waiting for an answer, she looked around them, the ground still shaking from the ongoing blasts. Picking up her radio again she gained the signal she wanted, "Do you not hear me?! I need emergency aircrafts!!! We have many injured here!"
After getting an answer and a guarentee the aircrafts would arrive soon, Tani turned to Hide, "I'll be back."
Climbing to her feet, she ran past some students who were unharmed. Climbing onto a nearby lump of cement and mess she shouted, speaking clearly for the people around her to hear.
"Listen carefully." She began. "Everyone with potions, medical knowledge, or anything of the sort, help out. Everyone needs to help each other, and STAY CALM! Emergency services will be here within minutes to help us all, but until then please do as I say - Stay calm. Get the wounded out but dont endanger yourself."
Minutes later Tani stopped giving orders and trying to create order and help people and many others stopped what they were doing and looked up to the sky above them. Many emergency aircrafts now lined the sky, preparing to take on everyone who needed it.
Running, she knelt beside Hide. "See? You're going to survive!!"
"It would be nice...." Hide said trying to sound happy and cheerful... He knew he was dying though, he could slowly feel his body beginning to shut down... it was too late for him now. He wondered how Walton had faired getting out of the elevator... He was tough... Hide knew he would do fine.
"I'm sorry...." he said once more as a slight tear trickled down the side of his emotionless bloody face. "I tried to stop him being shot... I really did"
Tani shook her head, her hair falling over her face. "Hide, you have to be okay! You and Walton...You're the only two who have accepted me at Balamb. They're all so nasty, and out of the two people who are nice, I'm so horrid to one! I don't mean to be horrible... I really don't..." She said, fighting back tears. Looking up, the emergency aircrafts were now landing all over the place where the communications tower had once stood. Tani looked towards the nearest craft. The second they appeared with their equiptment Tani signalled for them to come over, urging them to do so quickly. As they made their way over, Tani knelt back down.
"Just a bit longer..." Her voice trailed off as she noticed how lifeless Hide looked. "H-Hide?" Tani grabbed his arm, feeling for his pulse. Feeling nothing, she grabbed his shoulders, shaking him violently. "No!! ****! Hide! Stop it!!"
Before she could move two male and female balamb students took Tani by the arms, pulling her away from Hide and the other injured and sitting her nearby. "Tani!" The girl spoke, taking Tani's hands and looking into her eyes. "Tani can you hear us?" Tani stayed almost silent, as she muttered words under her breath, her eyes fixated on the medical team reviving him.
A few agonising minutes later, the medical team managed to get Hide's pulse back. It was a weak pulse, but a pulse nontheless. As he was being secured to a suitable stretcher Tani was still made to stay away from the scene as the medical team felt her being panicstricken would only cause further harm. The two other students stayed with Tani, reasuring her as she continued to cry of a mixture of pain and pure relief. As more people began to board the aircrafts Tani was instructed to do so. She refused and instead got permission to stay and help the other medical teams and others, feeling she at least owed that to them all.
After these events unfolded, Hide was loaded into the back of one of the evac craft along with other wounded, Walton himself managed to hitch a ride to keep Hide company - that was him... always thinking of everyone before himself, it was bad for him Hide had told him many times....
Tani stayed behind as long as she could but everyone was forced to evacuate as the Rebels took advantage of the **** up and launched a counter attack with everything they had, SeeD and the Students remaining in the town were pushed back all the way to the beach no matter how hard they fought.
The final statistics for the operation were 60% of all SeeD and candidates injured or deceased. 42% of all casualties were part of the Communications tower blast, causes of which both gardens put down to one of the other's students making a mistake with the timer. 90% of all inside the tower at the time of the explosion died instantly a further 5% went on to die while waiting for evacuation and medical teams.
Tharrick.... when he wasn't able to cross the bridge stayed put... unfortunatly he was caught right in the middle of the counter attack. He fought valiently but had to admit defeat and retreated back to the beach head where he joined the other evacuees. It a further 5 SeeD and students were severly injured when trying to stop him from commiting ritual suicide but he was finally over powered and was convinced to stay alive.
The failed operation caused a scandal across the world, this was the first time any field exam had gone wrong, hell, it was the first time SeeD as an organisation had failed. A day later a spokesperson on behalf of SeeD had said that this was put down to faulty intellegence and underestimation of the enemy, they reassured the public that it had nothing to do with lack in training of students and SeeD.
The Galbadian government stayed quiet on the whole subject, it thanked Galabadian Garden and Balamb Garden but seemed to blame Balamb for the faulty intellegence. Both gardens refused to take responsibility which just lead to increased tension between the two already unfriendly gardens.
Due to the way all students had conducted themselve, both gardens saw fit that all students who survived the operation passed the exam and were made SeeD. Throughout this whole ordeal... Hide lay unconcious in the west wing of Balamb infirmary. Only now, two days later would he awaken. Only now, two days later would his story really begin.............................................
--------------------------------------------------------
Hide's eyes slowly opened and came into focus on the room around him. He had dreamt he was alone... alone in darkness... for eternity... It took him a while to realise where he was an his memory to fully return. He felt sick... his body ached all over. Turning his head on its side he saw his gunblade propped against the wall, good as new.
Hide slowly propped himself up, on the bedside cabinet there was what appeared to be a card with 'get well soon' written on it. Hide studied the inside, it was from Walton and Tani, it appeared they'd also gotten quite a lot of students to sign it... whether it was forced or whether the other people had done it out of brute forcefulness he wasn't sure, he had always tried to keep to himself... he'd had trouble with some people cause of who he was... but now that he thought about it, it didn't seem to bother most people... He'd just really kept to himself was all, he reassured himself.
Hide glanced over at the door as he saw the handle turn and the door swing open.
"HEY!!" Tani bounced into the room, a box of chocolates in her hands. Moving towards the bed she studied Hide up and down. "Well Well, looks like you're better!! Some of us got you some chocolates!"
Sitting down in one of the two chairs beside the bed she pulled open the top of the chocolates - obviously meant for Hide - And began to bite into them. Everysooften she would pull a face and spit it back out into the box, disliking the taste. Finishing them within minutes, she placed the box onto the cabinet, the half eaten "gross" chocolates shaking within it.
"Mmm! Anyway, how you feeling?"
Hide stretched"... I feel..." he yawned "...exhausted..." he said sleepily from all the potions he had been given. Then a realisation of not know what had happened crept into his mind. He looked over Tani, "..........what happened with Dollet? did we pass?" he asked curiously as if he hadn't been there at all.
Tani shook her head and lowered her voice. "Hide, how could we have passed? So many died, we let so many down..."
Her voice trailed off as she couldn't contain herself anymore. "OF COURSE WE PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!" She grinned, swaying in the chair, "We passed that exam, and we deserve it! Basically, so many died, but those who didn't put there lives on the line to save others and stuff.... We're all heros, apparently!"
Hide laughed happily, he was about to explode with a million and one questions that he had for Tani, but just as he was about to speak he was interrupted by a knock at the door. "Come in.." Hide said loudly so the person could hear him on the other side of the door. Hide was shocked to see a now middle aged man, with long brown hair standing in the doorway
Tani sat and simply looked at the man, taking him in. Realising who he was she lept to her feet, letting out a squeeling sound.
"Oh my god!! WOWIE!!! You're...You're....Squall Leonheart....!!!!"
"Oh dear god...." Hide thought as he saw Tani's hyper reaction. Squall managed a faint smile, he closed the door behind him and sat down in the vacant chair on the opposite side of the bed from Tani. Squall looked as if he was trying hard not to laugh, "I came to find out how the gunblade worked out for you but it looks as if it didn't bring much luck!" he laughed. All the years of being able to jsut live in peace with friends and family had - it seemed, lighten up Squall a lot and he wasn't the constantly depressed person some people knew him as.
Sitting back in her chair Tani stayed quiet as she studied Squall.
"That's Squall's gunblade?" She spoke, trying to contain her excitement. "No wonder he wouldn't let me touch it!"
"If you don't mind me asking.... Why did you give Hide your gunblade? He did have his own."
"uh oh... this is awkward..." Hide thought as his eyes turned to fix on Squall, whos eyes came to rest on Hide as a Chorus of, "eeeeer...." filled the room. It was Hide who turned to look at Tani first, "Well." he began, "Squall is my dad..." he trailed off
Tani's sudden gasp turned almost instantly into another insane grin.
"HE is YOUR dad?!" She laughed, looking from one to the other.
"You look NOTHING like him!! Plus...Squall's REALLY ATTRACTIVE!" Tani stopped speaking, realising she'd spoken her fangirl thoughts outloud. "Heheheheh..."
hide felt a little insulted at this "Kick me while I'm down" he thought dejectedly to himself,Squall didn't say anything but tried to hide the blushing. It wasn't long before Squall spoke again, "Well, I can't be here long..." he started, "I'm meeting Irvine for drink in a few minutes, I think we're going to dig up Zell as well... where ever he is" he said looking around the room as if Zell was about to burst out of the walls. "Well anyway.." he started again, "You're mother insisted I came straight here when we heard about the screw up... I told her you'd be fine considering you learned from the best on how to survive" he laughed but then became serious once more, "But you know how she is..>" he said with a long sigh.
Muttering something under her breath Tani picked up the remaining chocolates and continued eating them. Her hair fell over her face, hiding her as she blushed and thought; "I always embarass myself...Ontop of that I insulted Hide...AGAIN..."
Letting out a giggle, she dropped the empty box of chocolates into the bin beside her chair.
"Well anyway I'd best be on my way, I'll tell your mother you said hi. And as for you..." he turned to Tani, "Nice to meet you..." and unless Hide was going insane he could of swore he saw Squall wink at her. Squall shut the door after him, leaving Tani and Hide alone in the room once more.
"Any idea where they put my clothes?" he asked inquisitivly
Now grinning Tani turned to Hide. "Ummmmmmmm." Climbing to her feet, she looked around the floor, half expcting them to just be sprawled somewhere. Kneeling down she pulled open the cabinet next to Hide's bed to reveal a set of his clothes, all folded neatly.
"There!" Tani said, signalling to the clothes. "I'll wait outside... You do realise its the ball tonight, right?"
"Really?" Hide exclaimed, "I thought I would have missed it..." he began, "But then again... I guess they thought it would be inconsiderate to hold one the same night as the day when so many of us died..." he trailed off.
He waited for Tani to leave the room before he got out of bed and pulled on his more casual attire. He would have to get back to the dorms and change before the ball tonight. It was as he stood up that he noticed the letter on the bed side table. Picking it up he began to read it, it would appear to show his exam results. It looked pretty much like he had gained over achieved in most of the tested area. At the bottom the headmaster had wrote a small note to him, it read - "Please for the love of god don't die on us next time!!!!!!" Hide laughed as he read this. He folded up the letter and put it in his pocket. He picked up the gunblade and left the room
Hide made his way to the door and opened it, he found Tani standing right outside his door like she had promised. "Right... Ready?" he asked her, "how long do we have until the ball" he asked inquisitivly considering it was beginning to get dark outside already.
Walton sat in the canteen alone. He thought that Hide and Tani were dead, and he hadn't seen Tharrick either.
Gazing round at the canteen, it was noticeable how many people had died and the atmosphere was one of mourning for those lost.
He stared into his drink, wondering if he'll ever find his three new friends... and who to go to the ball with... he didn't know anyone else around here.
"About half an hour.... I'm going to change! Hehe! I'm so excited! I'll meet you there!!"
Tani waved as she jogged off along the corridors, towards her dorm.
Hide collected his things together, just before he left he saw he had gained a scar from the battle. a small scar on the side of his face. "hm..." he thought, "Its no loss...." he thought as he began walking towards the dorms. For the first time in his life he didn't feel intimidated walking through the garden. People didn't seem to stare at him with malicious contempt anymore... He guessed that anyone who went through what they had all gone through hadd proven themselves worthy of peoples niceness. even if just for a short time.
Walton checked the time, and thought it best to go get ready for the ball.
Sighing, he got up and walked slowly to his room, where he silently got into some formal clothes.
Checking himself in the mirror, he stepped out into the corridor and headed off to the ball.
When he got there, he sat alone on a table, drinking absent mindedly from a glass of champagne, and watching happy couples and cheerful people who'd forgotten all about the incident pour in and onto the dance floor.
Hide opened his room. He paused as he stood in the doorway. This had been his home for most of his life... he couldn't believe that he would have to leave it all behind soon. Hide stripped off his clothes, absent mindedly throwing them roughly in the corner.
There had been more than one scar left on his body from the accident, he noticed this as he looked up into the full length mirror that sat in front of him on his wall. There had been in total about 5 other small scars left all over his torso... Hide groaned.
He pulled on his clothes, admiring himself in the mirror. Already he could hear the orchestra warming up. The atmosphere felt electric. Hide left the his room, locking the door behind him and started making his way towards the sound of the Ball.
Tani pushed the last hair clip into her hair. Her hair was tied back neatly in a bun so perfectly it looked like something Tani could never do. Tani smiled as she checked herself in the full length mirror, pleased with herself. Stepping out of her Dorm door she ran through the halls towards the ball, the only sound ringing through the corridors was her heels as she skipped joyfully.
Reaching the large doors leading to the ball, Tani stopped before opening them as she thought about it. Smiling again, she opened them and entered the grand room.
Hide had been about 20 meters from the doors when Tani had skipped past him joyfully, she hadn't noticed him so he found it pointless calling out for her. However now that he reached the doors he noticed why she was being so happy. The ball room was decorated to its very best. In the distance he could hear fireworks going off which he had been reassured would be going off until the morning. He wasn't complaining. The band were sitting ready waiting for their que to start playing.
Walton looked up to the doors and saw Tani walk through. He thought she was dead...
Jumping up he ran over and started blabbing madly about "Ithoughtyouweredeadbutyou'renotandWHYDIDNTYOUTELLM E?!"
Hide looked over and saw Tani being quizzed by a flustered looking Walton. Hide decided maybe it would be best if he didn't let himself be seen by Walton just now. His prayers were answered though when he heard someone call his name beckoning him over to a table inviting him to drink with a few others.
Greatfully he accepted - it was the first time anyone had ever really invited him... maybe this field exam was the best thing to ever happen to him he thought as the drinks were poured.
"Sorry!!" Tani apologised, "I've been busy..Hehehe! I'm glad to see you are okay though!!! Glad to be a SeeD?"
Without waiting for a response she grabbed Walton's wrist, pulling him towards a table almost filled with more students, laughing and chatting.
Saying hellos she sat down, happily signalling for Walton to do so too as a girl next to her handed her a glass of Champagne.
"MMmmm!!"
Still bemused by Tani being alive, he sat beside her and cheered up insantly. He took a glass of champagne and chatted happily, eventually turning to Tani.
"So uh... how'd you survive?" he asked... not really wanting to bring up that subject... "Oh.. and... your hair looks nice" he said, noticing the bun... wondering who she got to do that...
It wasn't long until the band struck up, striking up a simple waltz to start things off. Couples randomly got up and started to dance together to the music as the Ball took off into full swing as the drnks began to flow. It wasn't long until a nervous looking girl approached Hide asking him to dance with her.
Hide didn't usually dance... but he was onto his 4th drink so he thought 'hell yeah bitch!!!'.
He got up and straightened his uniform before being dragged to the dance floor by the girl. Hide had forgot to tell her he couldn't dance....
(for the ball scenario I'll be including Midi files for you to listen to, to hopefully give a fuller sense of atmosphere and realism.)
"Thanks! Took me aaaaaaaaaaages!" Tani grinned, helping herself to another drink. Standing up Tani picked up her glass of Champagne, "I'm going to the bar to see what else they have to drink, I'll be back in a bit!!!" She smiled, skipping off towards the bar.
Sitting down between two other students at the bar she signalled for one of the people behind it to come over, "Whatcha got!?" She laughed.
Getting a third glass of champagne, Walton chatted with the people around him and listened to their stories of the exam, waiting for Tani to return.
Watching the couples on the dance floor, he thought he caught a glimpse of... no... couldn't be.
"WAAAAAAAAHEY!!" Tani was still sitting at the bar. Surrounded by guys and one or two females they downed their drinks, racing at it. Shot after Shot after Shot, Tani was starting to feel the alcohol in her system. Ignoring it, her and her friends continue.
"You're a legend Tani. You don't look like kind of girl who could handle her drink!!"
"Yeah, you're only saying that because your a pansy and cant handle yours!" She laughed, handing the boy nearest to her another shot.
"One..Two..THREE!!"
Over his dancing partners shoulder he spied Walton looking over at him in disbelief, he quickly hid his face behind his partner where Walton couldn't see him, "that was too close..." he thought to himself, Then a few seconds later another person caught his eye... Hide hadn't seen her around the garden, he waited till the next time they passed her so he could get a better look. He had definatly not seen her before... but if he had he would have remebered... she was beautiful.
Tani spun around on her stool, "Swwooosh! More shots, Mr Barman!" She laughed, sticking her tongue out at him.
"I think...We....drinks two fasht..." Spoke one girl nearby,
