Come on everybody, tell me what you lot think of the Ultra L33t game Guildwars. As you may of guessed i play the game, rating it way of WoW for many reasons. 1) No monthly fees and 2) No more crappy grinding to get level. Its a game you can actually enjoy, rather than always wating to get a new level.

The guildwars game makes better use, of players using there skills and not overpowerfull items and kit and playing for long periods of times.

Already posted liek two threads ranting on about how great GW is compared to other games ;p I'm still a fan of WoW but yes the grind does suck that's why I never got to level 60 despite playing for so long xP. I enjoyed other things... *cough*

Yeah it is a good game and with a different concept to other MMO's where it does rely somewhat more on skill but after a year of playing i'm starting to get bored. Even GVG's get boring at times but I still play at times and the Wintersday event has been keeping me entertained for the last two weeks lol. If you had asked me for an opinon a few months ago I would of said it's liek the best effin' game ever lol.

well, i would like to enjoy it but for some reason i cant, well actually there is a reason that i cant figure out, i have more than enough memory on my computer but when i install the game it takes like 1k of memory rather than like 256 i think it is and i lag horribly a guy at work said i need to update my drivers and to download a game govener, does anyone else have any advice? it would be greatly appreciated! thanks again!

Omfg i'm pissed that I missed the finale of the Wintersday event. During the times it was on I was out (then of course sleep) so there was only one period left I could go to it which was the last one lol. I was playing WC3 and then I just remembered about the event and when I closed WC it was already liek an hour after >< Apparently you could of got a Jester Hat, Stylish Yule Cap, Grenth's Great Horns and Snowman Head lol.

I only missed it due to my stupidity. I was out for most of the time when the finale event was on (except when I got back but it was late and I needed sleep ;p) but the only time I could of got on was the last finale event. I was playing WC3 to pass the time but then I ended up playing a bit longer than I should have and when I closed WC3 to check the time it was already liek an hour over lol.

I would trade my Wizard Hat thingy from the Halloween event for those items anyday >< Maybe not my Pumpking or Dragon MAsk though lol. But yeah, this event you got four items ;o and a Snowman Head, how leet ;p

I have an account...barely use it, though. I'm not into MMO's much, but I was willing to give it a try since it was free of monthly costs. Not a bad game, really...but not really my thing. It never holds my interest for very long, and I doubt there's any MMO that could.

Anyway, I played Guild Wars for a bit, not a bad game. o.o Best thing about it is the no monthly fees. One thing I lacked in GW though was the ability to meet new people. It just seems really hard to meet people, when you start the game as a newb you don't really stand out much (and lots of other noobs) and people kinda ignore you, whereas in say FFXI they would notice you straight off (you got a big ? floating above your head, and you don't have a linkshell, which is basically a guild/chatgroup) and ask you if you're new and sometimes even give you a pearl to the linkshell. That's the only thing that put me off this game. :(

Oh, wait, that and Post Seering, you can't roam around as freely as you could in Pre, it's ridden with monsters >.<

Yeah what really sucks about Guild Wars is the lack to meet people. You can't really meet/talk to people whilst you're PVEing because of the instance concept that is put into place into every area and town. Also unlike most, if not all other MMORPG's, you can just "carefully" travel through an area without getting attacked or explore without having to fight a mob. Well that's not completely true about the people-not-helping thing since if you do ask, you MAY get some help. Of course in Guild Wars the community kind of sucks compared to others. Of course i'm not saying everyone there is a complete dickhead - there are some friendly and cool people (and are not noobs xP) but not as many.

I dunno for some reason i'm just over Guild Wars. It all seems to repetitive, I dunno why. Even with new armour, weapons and skills - everything just seems the same. Even though the idea behind Guild Wars is unique from other MMORPG's - it's too limited. When they make new weapons and armour - it's all teh same from the old ones but a differnet look and that's it. Skills don't make much of an impact when you can only use so many whilst PVEing (PVP is different). And the one suckeh thing is that you can't really solo anywhere and do stuff by yourself (except really low level areas like below 10-15).

Never tried PvP GW myself, ever since FFXI I haven't been interested in it at all xD Only "PvP" I will do is fighting games offline (mwuahaha just try to beat my Seung Mina in Soul Calibur <3 lol) :P

roflmao @ link. That was some fcked up shiz though lol.

The PVP concept is pretty awesome. Even though some of it has been screwed over after some changes, GVG is still awesome (Guild vs. Guild), personally i'm not really AS into as I was before (prob because i'm too lazy to join a decent GVGing guild and get on at the right times and also use Ventrilo or TeamSpeak lol), but yeah it's still pretty awesome. Alot of tactics and builds and stuff behind it (so a bit boring at times, but still fun xP).

i got 8 characters and 7 are lvl 20 and one has 2mil xp i plaed it a lot, but i quit for Aion and WoW
