I think we should lower the needed post count to access the RPG and arcade. There doesn't seem to be any point in having them if you're a member for like a week and can't play them.

The reason we have a post count requirement is because a lot of members would otherwise join, post once and then leave I guess =X The main reason to join a forum should be to chat mainly anyhoo right?
Personally I don't have a problem with the lowering postcount, but...ya know. :P
I'll let one of the main admins reply to this =3

Well, I agree with SS. 25 is pretty high and I remembered it annoyed me when I joined. Maybe reduce it to around 5? That way people will still have to post in order to be able to play the RPG.

Yeah...five posts. Aren't you being just a little bit daft?

If things were that easy, people would spam more just to get the post count required. You're quite fortunate it's 25 and not 50 like it has been before. There's no need to change the post count, if you joined the forum just for the RPG Hack, then you're probably better off playing an MMORPG or something.

On the other hand, I do see SS' point but unfortunately, too many people would be on for a week and then just leave. If you see already, we have quite a few members but about three quarters of our members are inactive and don't use the forum. I think the rules are fine as they are.

Yoherz, 5 posts is TOO low. Everyone can just make 5 posts and then check the (unique) features and then leave. You just have to do archive something before you can check the features, like you have in RPGs. And if it's too much for you, too bad. I ain't changing them.

We are NOT an arcade. We are NOT here to entertain people who don't even have the courtesy to talk to the other members.

Ziddy, I think you should let me write up a vitriolic rant and stick it in as required reading :P

Well, if the post count is high, then it seems like they would spam to get there rather than making and intro thread and posting four more times. I remember that it took me almost five days to get enough posts.

It doesn't matter how many are inactive as long as you draw more active members.
Making this change might do that.

@Yoherz, reducing the post count for the RPG hack wont make members more active. We are a forum, the RPG hack and Arcade is a mere sub-part of the forum. We arent here to try and get people to stay active for the RPG, we are here to get people to post and be partof the community, the RPG hack has noting to do with the community. It's a nice suggestion and all, but I don't think it should change.

Fair point but we disagree. Nothing will be done, End.

Getting 25 posts isn't too hard. If you just do 10 posts a day, then you'll be there before you know it.

Or you could pay me $20 through paypal and I'll hack the Gibson and sort out access =D

it took you five days to get 25 posts wow that means you're willing to stick around and post so icongradulate for being one of the newer members who actually stay's. but other then that its actually very good at 25 any lower and people would join just to see it then leave without talking to people on the forum or anything.

word of advice: quit your bitching, this is not going to get changed no matter how much you complain. It's where it is right now for a reason. I think the thread should be locked now, in my personal opinion, since the problem seems to have clearly been resolved :S
