As most other persons that know enough about computers to get their arses online, I've found myself a victim of the MySpace plague, even to the degree of being addicted to it. I decided to make this topic because just recently I read that (though not to my surprise) MySpace was the "biggest" site online. "Biggest" here meaning the one with most individual hits per day on the entire Internet. But why? What is so great about the site that everybody *has* to have their own little MySpace?
Well yeah, it is a good way to keep in touch with friends. But don't you like, have MSN or other IM services for that? I just don't really see the reason for people to obsess so much about MySpace. Even though by saying that I'm rather a hypocrite, since I myself obsess pretty much about my own MySpace profile. Which again is a rather sad profile, since I seem to be pretty much the only one of my real life mates to actually have one. So practically all persons on my friend list is either online mates or bands.
But yeah, what is so great about MySpace (or bad) in your opinion? Why do people *have* to have one? And do you yourself have one?

Lol well it's another option for communication (not that I use MySpace, I use Bebo though but only a bit. I only use Bebo because majority of my IRL friends do) when you're friend(s) aren't on MSN. Of course you can always call them or message them (IF you have their number lol) too, but I guess ppl find it more amusing/fun to do it over the net lol.
Plus if you're really bored i'm sure you'll end spending alot of time devoting yourself to making you're MySpace look nice and pretty lol. Aswell as looking at you're friends and whatnot ;p

my friend stalked a girl through bebo
she goes to our college and he tought she was hot (he called her hot girl) and he was surfing through local people's images and he found a picture of a girl, and "hot girl" was in the picture too, haha

I only use it to add bands I like and keep up to date on what they're up to...
I don't have any MySpace "friends"...don't see the point. MSN's more than enough trouble for me, thanks.
I have to say myspace is really annoying I cant b bothered to go onto it

I don't have a personal social network page. I hate them, because I don't like to see other people that I don't know of to see my profile and all those emails I'm getting from friends that registered on one of those sites, its annoying..

It's easier to use than MySpace.
I'm one of those lazy people who can't be stuffed. Of course i'm not saying MySpace sucks ('course alot of the people on their are liek such attention-whores and emos, or atleast try to be ><), just meh. Of course if you want to edit you're page in whatever way - MySpace does that better than any other social sites i've seen but Bebo is just easy and less effort =p
'course I might start using MySpace since more and more people I know are using it now. Well some use both, but some are using MySpace more than Bebo so xP.

Bebo is bad, really bad, Bebo should die, it's just so bad, i keep gettign emails over hotmal from people i havent talked to in like 4 years "hey join bebo lol!" "nothankslol" and i get multiple emails from everyone, Bebo was just invented to spam people's email inboxes

i have only joined myspace a few moments ago.
Even thought I'd never do this, I made a MySpace.

Pretty sad, all they're doing is giving myspace free advertising and people mainly laugh at the stupidity of it, not because it is true. Even if it is lol, it's just the same as bebo.

Some lass in my sixth form advertised a party, which everyone in our sixth form was invited to, on myspace. However, 200 strangers from all over the country turned up and absolute bedlam happened... It even made it onto the national news... I'm kinda glad I was working that night!!!
