I got FFXII today, yay! :)
I also bought the FFXII Limited Edition Guide, I haven't played much just a little bit of the beginning before you play as Vaan. It seems really good, the intro is pretty long, I skipped the bits that wasnt FMV as it was just going on and on >_> lol

Battle system is quite different too, casting animations are the same as FFXI too :P. But yea, I thin once I master the battle system it will be alot more enjoyable.

What's everyone else's views?

actually they beat cameos graphics(cameo was garbage but it is uber fun) not condemned or any other game cept viva pinata (viva pinata is great though and entertainig for all)

i like it but they made the boss im at uber hard (76,000 hp seriously gay im only lev 30) and after that the next boss has only 21,000 health thats not fair. but another fault in the games is it gets frustrating farther on and gets really repetitive and annoying plus it gets easy to predict.other note you guy's also get to see the oh so repetitive charcters who have no original personality thank square for providing the same charcters over and over again with different names and appearance.

ironically, I just got the game yesterday myself in the mail.

It owns, from what I played so far, though two things I don't like:

- The placement of higher level aggro monsters early on when they'll crush you like you're nothing
- Getting one of any 4 certain chests in the game automatically loses you the opportunity to get the ultimate weapon D:

So far I really like the game. I'm playing it for 8 hours now and I'm in Barheim Passage. I like the battle system and the way you can set gambits to every party member (there are a lot too). A little disappointment's is the way you get magic, you can just buy them but you need to have the license too.

This game rocks. Majorly. In my opinion quite possibly the best game yet. And I don't mean best FF game. I mean game PERIOD.

I'll give my final opinion when I've completed it but its excellent so far, I'm at the Tomb of Raithwall.

First time I ever bothered getting a Final Fantasy on the day of release. And I must admit it seems well worth it so far.

I'm really enjoying the game so far however my only two qualms with it so far is - the license system is teh gay I really don't like the way its been implemented and I also think the story line isn't as driven as some of the past titles.... its quite slow I think... especially all the running errands at the beginning just pissed me off no end... a lot of it just didn't feel necessary.

However, on a more positive note - I think the voice acting is the best yet and I think we're seeing possibly some of the best characters in the entire series; Balthier, in my opinion, deserves three games of his own lol. Yeah well, I won't give any final opinions until I've got a bit further into the game (im just rescuing penelo at the moment) but so far, on the whole, I'm enjoying the experience :)

I'm sure we will all get used to the new system, the licences etc. my only quarm is i miss the OLD "style" of final fantasy...back in the dat of ffvii and ffviii....is that stupid? XD

Sephiroth912

nah. And the license system gives the game a high replay value, so you can try to 100% complete the game (like the sphere grid in X and the Materia in VII). Just got owned by the Flowering Cactoid (I'm still not too far in the game). 1000 needles ftl o-o

well, i must say this is the best game ever...yes, ever!!

i stayed up from 8 last night til 3 this morning playing it, and that never happens.

pros
Graphics - Superb
ADB - Fantastic
Basch - Due beyond words. he just looks like he could take on the world, and win.
and good old desert places. cause they just rock
then theres everything else except:

Cons
Treasure schemes - i hate this. this is the only bad thing about the game. thankfully, everything found in chests, can be bought. it's just more expensive
and the lamont guy. is he actually a guy? really?!

this is the best game ever, and i still got ages to go.

Then you haven't seen Wraith yet? It was really hard defeating that one (damn Doom).

I find the game harder then other Final Fantasy games, especially the bosses. I got totally owned in the mines...

My only slight annoyance is how Save crytals are sometimes just a bit too far behind bosses. And teleport stones are too hard to come buy (and cannot be bought).

teleport stones CAN be bought =/

and they drop from mobs decent enough in the sandsea, you shouldnt waste them anyway in being lazy, you have airships only use them on areas you really cant get into wihtout walking for miles.

@Zidane: Your level is too low then, or you havent got enough LP, its best to get quickenings as fast as poss as it increase your mana by like x2, and augments as they increase attack, hp, mp regen etc. If you level enough, via exp and LP, the game is a breeze. Im level 24 at the moment and ive just got the first esper. It also depends on weapons, its best to do some in-game research, youll find that weps depend on different stats + can do extreme amounts of damage, equipping Basch with a Axe, I can 1 shot level 20 mobs, thats 1.2k damage lol.

@Vixene: Never mind, I already got passed the mines. The enemies there weren't really a problem, but those guys you need to escape from.

I'm at level 13 at the moment and I just saved Ashe and Penelo.

yes but sometimes iwth an axe you do nothing since the damage is random so fights can take longer or go quicker lol lev 23 and fighting the elder wyrm ****ing 75,000 health and to treants with him i even did a 9 hit quickening combo and he still stood up

well he will, quickenings wont be that effective they wont shed 70k damgage. And if you use beserk the axe's damage are quite constant + haste, your looking at one of the best damage dealers. For more constant damage though, A spear is best for its small charge time and nice damage.

Whatever you do, dont use a 1h Sword till you get Ice Brand, the swords are the slowest weapons in the game so you can get alot better weapons.

I got owned the first time through the mines. I learned my lesson the second time: don't fight, JUST FREAKIN RUN!!!

And actually, the Wraith one was up as well so I took that one. Doom was more annoying cuz I had to keep an eye on them and make sure they didn't die. Otherwise it wasn't difficult at all (I did it with only Vaan and Basch, too, might I add)

I've now played the game for over 21 hours and I'm now in The Tomb of Raithwall. Most of the party members are level 18. I've completed 6 out of 8 hunts now (the other 2 are too hard still). I still like the game, the Sandsea was a little bit boring, but a beautiful looking area. Everyone has one Quickening, except Penelo.

Well, two months later and I've still haven't finished the game. :P
I have to go to Archades now to visit the Draklor Laboratory. I'm still in Rabanastre though.
I'm playing for almost 50 hours now and I'm only level 30 with Vaan, the others are at level 29. Still have a long way to go. One of the longest FFs I've played.

About 50 I assume. Maybe 40, maybe not. (I probably have seen and accept total of 40 in the boards)

Please take note: I have completed 30 hunts right now, and probably you'll get to hunt Ba'Gamnan (A.K.A the Hunter Stalker) in one of them.

And another 3 months later I still haven't finished the game. I'm taking it easy. :P

I just defeated the Mandragoras at Sochen Cave Palace. They were a little hard, but with some help of Quickenings I got passed them. The characters are level 35-36 and my playtime is 67 hours already.
