Okay, there's an esper they call Zodiark and I'm really curious about it, and if I can, I'd like to obtain it. Where can I find it??

Zodiark, Keeper of Precepts. The Final Esper.

You need to of beaten 10 esper's, though you don't need to of learnt them. and dispatched the Mindflayer Hunt Mark.

Speaker to Geomancer Yugely in the Lull of the Land in Jahara, and he will unlock the secret passage in henne mines that leads to Zodiark.

To reach the Esper in the Specilal Charter Dig, make sure that the Gate switchboards enable the red gates to be open, go through the door in the North Entrance to reach Ore seperation, then take the east exit, then have to make your way through some hidden zones.

Zodiark is level 66, HP: 336,847
Zodiark is dark element, so you'll need to equip black masks, as Zodiark will cast darkja at the start of the battle and it could wipe out your entire party. Zodiark also has attacks that hit party members who are level's that are multiplied by 2,3 or 4, so having your party levels with prime numbers will reduce damage dealt to you. When he gets to 20% HP, he will be immune to physical attcks and have reflect on himself, and then will change his element weakness so youll have to cast non-elemental magick like Scathe.

I need help on finding, er hunting the Cluckatrice, please.
Here's the thing: I've searched all of the North Bank of Giza Plains, killed all monsters (except the Cluckatrice) and now what? It's invisible?

Well, I kinda got stuck once in there too but then I guess I just got lucky when I got to the North Bank of the Giza Plains. There, I found three (as I remembered) of her babies and killed them. Shortly after, she appeared. There. I killed her too. Cluckatrice Vanquished.

You have to go to the area, kill every single monster in that area, then leave and come back, the chicks will be there and so will the mother.

I'm having problems defeating Elder Wyrm in Golmore Jungle. He's really annoying, especially when he casts Sporefall. I almost defeated him this morning, but he keeps casting Sporefall and then I have to cure all my characters again and sometimes someone dies. Quickenings doesn't really do much damage on him, but Berserk on Basch worked nice. I'm currently level 24 with everyone.
I have the guide and red what do to but it doesn't help. And talking an alternative route is not really my option.

You could pass through the Necrohol of Nabudis and through the Nabreus Deadlands... but there's a great chance that it'll be much worse for you since your're still at a low level.

Nevermind, I defeated the Elder Wyrm! :D
I just keep attacking him and use Bacchus' Wine on Basch to inflict massive damage and cure the characters when he casted Sporefall.

Um Rasler... you do realise that the Golmore Jungle is on the complete opposite end of the world to Nabudis.

Oh well, not that it matters.

OMG, zodiark can burn in hell. Bastard uses Paling/Magic Shield and looses them for only less than a second at a time o-o

I'll help too if needed. I'm on the last Mark now, fighting him as I post this. Yiazmat is F-U-N :D

I can't find Lindwyrm (yes, Lindwyrm, not Lindblum xD) anywhere in Tchita Uplands. Any hints on where it's located? Thanks :D

Okay, this is a VERY tricky one. Go to the zone to the area to the Cerobi Steppe and zone in and out until it starts raining and then head out towards the Garden of Life's Circle. He appears there when it's cloudy and not raining. If it is still raining, exit that one specific area and renter it until it's simply cloudy and the Lindwyrm appears. In my guide here, it says he's lvl 39, but really he's a lot stronger than that, as it is with wyrms. He has high defense, attack and a lot more HP than the typical 39 monster. You've been warned :P

Oh, sorry about that! I was so caught up in finding the Zodiac Spear! The place I was talking about was Salikawood! Just northwest there is Nabudis! Sorry about that. Honest mistake.

Don't worry, I can beat 'em in just 3 minutes, because my characters' levels are at like 60-65 (lol, about 20 levels higher than Lindwyrm) and I have not one, but TWO Bubble Belts!!! Yay for Max HP 9999!!! BTW, thank you for helping me :D

Edit - Oh, and I need help on the Diabolos (or something else like that, kinda forgot the name)... Erm, that thing in Site 11 in Lhusu Mines that kidnaps children (not the Antlion).

VertigoStriker

Yeah it is Diabolos in the Site 11 of Lhusu Mines. Are yeah I remember him being really nasty, but I actually managed to kill him first time. Am not sure quite how.

I seam to remember still having Reddas, not that he was that useful, he cept getting killed. But every little helps.

Anyway, a good strategy I guess would be making sure you are as buffed up as you can (Protect, Bubble, Shell, Haste, Bravery). Then basically charging in,
trying to keep alive by keeping a mage (with Faith) back to focus on healing/reviving.

Once he is down, about under half, unleash your best Quickening combo you can. If you can try and leave someone with enough to unleash a second combo. It usually won't be as good, but it can still do some good damage in a pinch. If your first team dies, bring out your second team and unleashing their Quickenings as well.

That strategy usually worked well for me, can't remember if that was how I killed Diabolos or not. Hopefully it will help.

I just went and flatout went pure melee with an each guy having both a curaja and arise gambit. Like Vertigo, I have no idea how the hell I managed it. He was like level 70 and all my guys were either in their 40s or 50s. I thought I was gonna die, and brutally at that. It was more just long. Gilgamesh was the same way for the second fight. More long than anything (his swords are pure win though)

Speaking of Gilgamesh, I need help on this one (second part). His attack is like WTF when he kept using combos. Please PLEASE help me before I hit my head on a spiky wall :p

Sephiroth912

He's a much higher level during the second fight. First, take out his lil doggie. Makes the fight easier. Also have curaja and arise gambits set and just pound the hell out of them. that's what I did. Maybe you could also set a gambit for someone to cast haste on anyone who doesn't have it. It might make the battle a bit easier.

He's a much higher level during the second fight.
I knew that already. His attacks rise from 1000 to 3000 or higher, and can do powerful combos. (note: this is rank VII)

First, take out his lil doggie.
The "lil doggie" is Endiku. That's what I did for my first battle.

Also have curaja and arise gambits set and just pound the hell out of them. that's what I did. Maybe you could also set a gambit for someone to cast haste on anyone who doesn't have it. It might make the battle a bit easier.
Like this?

Ally:any | Arise
Ally:HP > 50% | Curaja (possibly 60 or 70%)
Ally:any/Slow | Haste

Sephiroth912
29-05-2007, 17:43
no, just make it like this, I'd say:

Ally: any | Arise
Ally: HP > 40% | Curaja (You'll use up your MP too fast if it's 50% or higher, except on some bosses like Yiazmat)
Ally: any | Haste (This gambit won't activate on someone if they already have haste. If they are slowed or no longer have haste, then the person with this gambit will cast haste on them)

EDIT: and who cares what the dog's name is? It's just easier for me to remember calling it "lil doggie," so what? >_>

Okay, this may be my final post (or second) on this thread. I want to know where the Seer is located in Pharos of Ridorana and I need strategy on beating him.

Sephiroth912
04-06-2007, 17:16
The Seer himself is easy to defeat. Just make sure your guys don't die, basically (him using Invert can actually help you at times). It's getting there, though, that's an absolute pain in the ass.

You need to go to the lower area Penumbra of the Pharos and in each corner area there are enemies that give you black orbs (yes, these again). Collect as many as you can and place them in the Pedestal of Night in each corner area. I don't remember the exact numbers and don't have them on me, but I'm sure you can find them on Gamefaqs.com. To get to the next level, Umbra, you must fill each pedestal AND find the Fool's Facades and go find/kill the Phoenix boss. You can't go to Umbra if you have not killed it. To get to Abyssal, fill each pedestal again (more orbs than the last time) and there's no boss for this one or the next. Then, fill each pedestal in abyssal (I think a total of 75 black orbs is needed) and a new either "Unknown" or "??" (I forget) area will appear for your choosing.

You cannot directly kill the Seer right away. After he takes a bit of damage, he summons the three boss monsters you fought on your first time through the Pharos (Pandemonium, that fish, Fenrir) and the Phoenix. Once they're dead and gone, just whip his ass.

Also, another note, be careful of the Magick Pots. Though their health bar shows they aggro, they will not attack you unless you attack them. And if you do attack them without giving them an elixer (which you can also steal off of them) then they become invincible and cast things like flare, scathe, etc. However, if you have an elixer, it doesn't hurt to turn off your gambits, give it an elixer, have your guys steal that elixer right back (maybe even a megalixer, if you're lucky) and kill it. It gives you a nice 123 (odd sequence, no? :P) license points!

And finally, I've heard an esper called Chaos. Tips on how to find the esper please, thanks :D

VertigoStriker
03-07-2007, 20:19
Getting Chaos is rather difficult, it is one of the longest sidequests in the game.

Chaos can be found in the Necrohol of Nabudis. To start with you need to aquire two special medallions. A Nu Mou, in Nabreus Deadlands, will mention them to you. The first one is split into four pieces, which can all be found in Rabanstre.
Gained after the "Crime and Punishment" Hunt.
After beating the three hunts in the Garamsythe Waterway (Wraith, White Mousse, Orthos) you can aquire the Dusty Letter, from the house in Lowtown. This letter refers to the Sluice Gate Controls. Activate them in the order described in the letter, and the second piece will appear in that room.
Start by talking to Filo in Lowtown. Then talk to the Curious Woman, near the fountain, ine the Lower Plaza. Talk to the Bangaa merchant, at the Bazaar. Talk to the Soldier in the Magic Shop. Then talk to Kytes, and then Filo. Go with the woman to the Magic Shop. And you will gain piece three.
Now as long as you have talked to the Nu Mou in Nabreus Deadlands. There will be another Nu Mou at Old Dalan's place. He will give you the final piece. Now the second medallion. You will find another Nu Mou in Archades' magic shop. He will tell you off selling it to a man called Otto, who is in Old Archades. Talk to him and he will give you the medallion. Talk to the Nu Mou again.

Now you return to talk to the first Nu Mou at Nabreus Deadlands. Now they will mention the third medallion in the Deadlands. Head to Overlooking Eternity area. Head up slowly to the shrine. And acqurie the third medallion from them.

Now you can go to the Necrohol of Nabudis. You will find three doors which the medallions will open. Behind the first two are two bosses which you must defeat in order to open the third door.

Behind this door is Chaos. Just defeat him as usual.

Now that wasn't too hard, was it?

It is long side quests like that that made me glad I broke down and bought the strategy guide.

In the Phon Coast there are the three guys that you can give the hunt trophies. Any idea which is best? Does it not matter? I have stock pile of them and the guide doesn't really help.

I don't think it matters... I beat the game no guide. Then went back and beat FFIX again. Now my plan is to get a guide and go back through FFXII. I really want all the extras.. And I'm telling you without the guide there is NO way to get 1/2 the secret stuff in FFXII.
