Today, I was on Youtube. Ya know... Youtube? Okay i went to my page and there was a massage left in my comments. It was written my "Haledos" and it says:
"I Hate you.
I hope you're dead very soon."
So eisily enough I went to her page. She has no videos, no comments no subcribers. JUST COMMENTS. And these comments aren't the most friendly either. Here's the one that REALLY got my eye.
"i swear you really need to get a better hobby, saying you'll track someone down using thier IP is beyond a joke in fact it just shows how immature and shallow you actually are so...
stop saying stupid crap like that
actually use youtube properly
and don't make weird *** and pointless comments on videos when you have non yourself!!!"
I don't have any videos but I have a pretty cool page and i'm nice to my fellow youtubers, except those who call me stuff, tell me to get a life, etc.
But the real point of me posting this is... should I be worried? I mean, can you track someone down by their IP? What is IP anyway?
oh and heres the link to my page if you wanna come visit

and please reply. some of the people that commented on her page never commented again...
You have people like that all over the internet. I had someone cuss me out completely and 'curse me' before just because they stole a piece of art I did, and I told them that it's mine (since then I don't upload my art to the net anymore :) ).
Thing is.
Appearingly decent person + anonymous = jerkface douchebag. Fact. A lot of them anyway...
They think it's pretty cool to act like that, cause they can get away with it, and to see others' reaction.
And yes, it's possible to track someone via IP. If you have a good firewall, it should block this, however.
Same people I mentioned earlier (that stole my art) tried to hack my computer several times using my IP, but my McAfee blocked their sorry asses, and I traced them using Firewall instead, they were from Houston USA :)

okay ty. So its not real big deal to worry about?
Just worry about it if you don't have a good firewall. I dunno about other firewalls but McAfee tracks everything that tries to get into your computer, I assume other firewalls do too.
IP address can tell someone where abouts you live etc.
And nah, they will not come to your door at all trust me, it's all tough talk. :P Seems that person was nasty to other people too, he probably just gets a kick out of it. (He/she whatever lol)
If he's really bothering you you could try reporting him?

okay... i went to v3getafans page and she left a comment before the one i wrote saying she had a program called Dialusus. says it can track if your down the street or across the world. "She'll make sure I'm dead very soon..."
Isn't that kind of behaviour prohibited on Youtube? Report her, I'm sure she's violating one of their terms of service. ;x

okay ty
Considering it IS the internet afterall and how many people act over it. I wouldn't really worry too much at all about this. And if they do manage to get you're IP and track you down (which I highly doubt anyways), how are they going to manage to get all the way to where you live? lol. Yeah, I wouldn't really think anything of it. Just usual idiots over the internet, who have nothing better to do with their lives xP.

They are probably are either:
A) Wanted to scare you.
B) Envies you.
C) Desperately wants people's attention.
D) Was VERY bored.
Anyhow, I don't think you need to be afraid or freaked or anything. They probably have no life if thats all they were doing to people. You'll find a lot of stupid people like that around. Just ignore them since they can't really do anything that most people can't handle.

Hey! I was just reading over HHN and thought I'd make a comment in this thread cause it seemed interesting. Anyway, here it is...
LOL! Are you nuts!? Dude, maybe if she came at you with a knife, then be worried. If someone gives you crap over the internet, don't be worried about that unless they know you. If they know your home address and are gonna come round and batter you, then you have something to worry about. Because your YouTube page had a message on it, isn't exactly a valid reason to be concerned. If someone finds your IP Address "Ah, noooes...my internet life is over". Don't worry about it, what's the worst they can do? Delete your photo album? ¬_¬
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, you're twelve.
Internet threats aren't serious before you see some random killer dude in your backyard with a Scream mask and a machete. Before something like that happens, laugh at it. Threatening people over the Internet is definiately one of the most idiotic things a person can do, because unless there's a mental pshyco sitting behind the other screen with the resources to track you down from Youtube, and then travel to the place in the world you live to track you down and hurt you...
Does anyone see that happening? I don't think so.. You're safe, deal with it. <_<

she is just a bully if you back down she knows you are scared if you stand up for your self just say a sly remark for example how she is a coward only confronting people over the internet probably because she is getting harrassed in her town and cant confront the people she is harassing face to face.

A friend of mine was getting harrassed through the internet by some girls from her school...and she was too scared to stand up for herself...so i signed up to the site and reported their arses....they were blocked...the school was then informed (by her parents) and it is now being delt with...
thats a time when you need to worry...
asl long as you donlt have your personal info on your profile like your address, phone no. etc....then no worries, this person is just a sad immature little child...
Simple. People like these are quite impossible to deal with but if you leave them peacefully alone, they'll leave you alone too and will eventually find their efforts to flame you utterly futile. If you haven't done anything to them, then you have the upperhand in this. As long as you have a clean record, you'll be fine.

Really, if you ask me, this doesn't seem like it will be long term harrassment. It's just a bored kid who decided to threaten people. Probably just a teenager without the resources or money to even track anyone down. Just block the user and forget about it.

These people suck, now I don't have to be scared of any wannebe-serial killer on the Net because I'm no weak person myself, so maybe if you don't feel really secure, bulking up may be an option?
Nah, just kiddin', there's nothing to worry about, probably some very immature person that likes to derivitate pleasure from these sort of acts, weak, sick and perverted I'd say. And did you say it was a GIRL?! Come on man, no man should ever be afraid of a girl, it's rule no.1.

And did you say it was a GIRL?! Come on man, no man should ever be afraid of a girl, it's rule no.1.
HEY that is pigheadded and sexist!...I bet all the girls on HHN who have read this are as offended as me!
Now, I am very sorry for going off topic here but that is not the kind of thing you say on a forum! Especially a forum with girls on it!...
And what do you mean by "man" you probably dont understand the meaning of the word! So don't rant about how "men" are supposed to be, because as far as i am concerned they can be as buff or as scared as they like, a real "man", if you have to stereotype, can admit his feelings and CAN be sacared by a girl! just look at Tharricks post above! there are some very scary GIRLS!!
/rant
and again I apologise for ranting and going off topic....but I was offended!
And did you say it was a GIRL?! Come on man, no man should ever be afraid of a girl, it's rule no.1.
Yo, I don't wanna sound too jerk-ish or anything like that but... man, have some respect for women. I admit was also shy and insensitive back then when it comes to girls, now I just treat boys and girls just the same but this does not stop me from becoming a gentleman, and having respect for the opposite sex.
Man, "Rule No. 1"?! What kind of rule book are you reading? It's true, people should never be afraid of others but they have to have respect. RESPECT, man, especially for girls. I'm sorry if I offended you, Eveningstill, but it wasn't right. Be more sensible when it comes to girls next time, okay? Be a man, uhh... man.
... and Kai, take it easy, okay?

To say that I am sexist is one thing, but there's absolutely no need for harshness. I merely meant to cheer this person up. You probably ALL have your opinions made about me at this moment, but I strongly suggest getting to know a person before having prejudices. I may have said what I said, but is it truly that bad as it seems? I myself am a realist, I only speak of things I have experience with and being afraid of girls as a whole has a) nothing to do with the problem this man is having, and b) is something's that's not to be taken lightly. It is rather a different path that leads away from the sadness of the problem. It cán mess you up, definitely, but I was merely trying to talk some sense into the guy and in my trying to divert him from his problem for a moment I was a little harsh. Getting a little excessive normally doesn't mean that much to me, but in this case I see that said opinion has bothered some people. I will do the polite thing and never speak of it again.
My apologies, I hope your problem will solve itself.
E.
P.S. Rasler, what did you mean with ''back then'', are you in any way insinuating that you have more life experience than me?

Man, you presume overmuch. I was only stating my own experience that is somehow related to your previous reply. I mean, I was that way too when it came to girls but the other members here helped me learn my lesson. You DO understand that I'm younger than you, right?
Listen, I'm sorry if I came out a little harsh. I was only speaking my mind and you gotta understand that.
I apologize for being off topic...

Alright, status quo again, I can be a arrogant ass sometimes, it's because I totally swear that part of myself off in everyday life.
