Well I've noticed that there wasn't a Xenosaga Thread, so I want to make one. This is a game that is created by Namco. I personally really enjoy this series. Too bad they only made three episodes though :(
I am playing them through again ^_^ I am so happy I found the first Episode /squeel ^_^
Well anyone else a fan of Xenosaga? :)

I sure as hella am a fan of Xenosaga. Xenosaga is an RPG that just spells, Win, Win, Win! XD KOS-MOS is such a good character. She's my favourite character from ANY video game really lol XD Oh and the story is very good as well. I'm sort of stuck in a place though, but I totally forgot where... I'll look it up in the weekend actually lol. So, how far are you in the game AW? o.o

KOSMOS is pretty ubor, but she just doesn't beat the cuteness of little MOMO though. Ohhhhh I love her, she is sooo adorable ^_^
Well I have all 3 Episodes, I never actually beaten the games, I'll usually get either to the last Dungeon or the second last. I get lazy or I just don't have the heart to get to end game :( I enjoy it way too much, it's pretty pathetic how I'll play over and over again but I stop at a certain point XD
Well now I plan on starting them over again and actually beating them! :)

Well I've beat the first one. I loved the ending :) But I'm just a little disappointed how easy the last dungeon was. Sure, it was very long but the difficulty lvl was just .. Wow. Well I have moved onto Episode 2, I am beginning to find it rather annoying. I dislike how they made the changes to the graphics. And how they changed some of the voice actors. For KOSMOS, she did sound like an Android but they changed her voice actor, now she sounds less like an Android and more human-like. I don't know, it bugs me. Also they screwed up on some parts of the graphics, if you observe their hands, you'll notice that they aren't in very good quality. I really wished they would have just kept graphics like on Episode 1, or maybe even like Episode 3 but that came much later. But overall, I do enjoy the story of that game. :)

I love Xenosaga and Kos-Mos (I actually got Namco X Capcom just because Kos-Mos is a playable character in there!) and I was kinda annoyed at the art change between games. I have beaten the first game, but Im still playing the second one. Im in the flashback in MOMO's mind fighting off crazy Albedo (I think it was him that went crazy... havent played in a while.)
I have the same problem with not finishing the games I play. I havent beaten Ar Tonelico, but I am literally at the last boss. I have to level up my characters a bit and I just cant bring myself to even put the disc in my PS2.
I haven't replied in this thread since a while now. But I haven't had a chance to play Xenosaga at all really. Too much study and exams, what a hassle lol. xD
Is it just me though but, in Xenosaga, if you don't fight monsters so you get a level or two... doesn't the boss that you are always about to face in some area that you could be in, become rock-hard? Lol because that's whats been happening to me alot really o-o;
Yeah, thats whats happening to me right now, which is why I havent played in a while. I really like the story, but Im focusing more on beating the extra dungeons in Star Ocean 3 right now.

After I beat FFXII, and 5 and 6, I am going to continue on with Xenosaga II. Thats the only thing I don't like about that about Xenosaga is that the level difficulties seem to really jump when you go into the next area. Thats why I am going to try to over lvl, like I always do in every single game -_-; but I find it's a little slow sometimes to lvl in Xenosaga. So, I guess it will just take a little bit more time than any other game I played XD

I never played a Xenosaga game. The first Xenosaga wasn't released here but Xenosaga II however was released with an extra DVD which tells the first episode. I still haven't bought the game, because its still rather expensive for a game which is almost 2 years old.

Personally, I don't like Xenosaga II as much as the first and second one. They changed some of the voice actors and it just doesn't look, or feel like any of the characters. Since they changed the whole type of "look" to the game. They tried to make it more realisticish but it just doesn't suit the whole Xenosaga theme. I was so relieved when they didn't keep it for the third one. But the storyline was still pretty good, I'll give it that.

I couldn't agree more on the character thing. I find it still very nicely designed but it doesn't have the original feeling you had when you played the first game, with those first designs. I've yet to play Xenosaga II but I will hopefully before the summer ends. I have all three parts ^~^; Speaking of parts, it is a little bit disappointing they couldn't get it to be a 6 part series like originally planned. That would be revolutionary! =o

I just realized that I kinda repeated myself from my last post to one of my earlier ones. -_-; Boy am I dumb?
Hmmm, 6 parts would be great but only thing that they should do would be to maybe add more characters in. Also, for a way they can kinda all lvl together at the same rate, instead of them having to lvl each party .. That would be a pain lol. Or... They could do "Guest Characters" kinda like in FF12. That would be really cool.

I started playing Xenosaga a while back. I kinda got into but there were so many cut scenes I wanted to watch it instead of play it. Then I lost track of the game when I bought FFX.

So much, now if only Namco would release the other two parts of the trilogy on PAL I would be happy, but as it is I'm having to play through III on my friends US PS3 (only thing it's good for really!)
As far as PAL (EU Version) releases go Namco only ever released Xenosaga 2 on PS2 over here and it came with a DVD of all the events that came in the first game - pretty much all the cutscenes in one DVD and it was a serious marathon to watch, something like 1hr40 I can't remember. Played through the second game in its entirety back home on my PAL PS2 and was considering modding my PS2 and importing the 1st and 3rd games (probably still will do next year).
Playing through the 3rd game at the moment, my friend Ben happened to have a japanese and american copy of the game and I can play through the US release on their imported hugeass PS3 :3 Marathoning through a game at your friends house is a weird experience thats for sure, just got onto the 2nd disc earlier this week '-'b

I finally beat my copy of the game. I have beaten the whole series now! :D Its so cool... I just wish they explained a bit more how the UMN system worked...

The UMN gets erased and theres no more FTL travel, so how will they make a new version of it?

Ive seen KOS-MOS figurines of the first game KOS-MOS. It came with a KOS-MOS sized Zohar. I really wanted it (it was at an anime shop relatively far from where I live) but I didnt have enough money. T_T

At least you have an Anime shop :( we have like nothing over here, thats not fair!!!! Hahaha, that would be awesome to have figurines!
Also, have any of you guys seen the Anime of Xenosaga (Based on the First Episode in the Trilogy?)

I would say the first and the third episode is worth buying. The first episode is fairly old so it should be cheap but perhaps rare to find.. Definitely worth it though. Second is alright in my books but it's not in my preferences.
I hope you get the opportunity to enjoy this trilogy series! :)

is this game any good? I keep looking at it but I never really know if I should buy it.
I got the first part and it's a good game, not that big of a fan tough. I bought it because i liked playing Xenogears, that was far better imo.
It kinda lost what Xenogears had, it has almost the same battle system but not the feeling you had with xenogears.
But all in all this is a nice game to play and maybe i finish this 1st part i will get the other once's.

I never played Xenogears so I don't really know. I have heard there were some connections to both games but that was it. So I really am not sure.
I also like to avoid comparing games, it tends to get my disappointed even before playing it :P
