Take a look on the BBC news website - a book has failed to be shortlisted because the characters are the three little pigs.... apparently this is going to offend the Muslim community due to 'cultural issues'. Biff. One more for the nanny state.

I for one am sick and tired of this nanny state called England, this government is creating double standards for its own people. We can't do anything anymore cause we might, "offend the muslims" or the blacks, or the gays, or the jews. I'm sure they would call me a racist or laugh at me if i said 'fine i want this book banned from being shortlisted because the main character in the plot eats curry and i find that culturally offensive to me'. I really hate the way england is going now its pathetic.

And another example the whole 'dont let your kids go outside they might get molested omfg' for gods sake these are the same people who complain that kids are fat and dont get enough excercise.................. what the hell is going on?!

england is actually starting to care about itself and its people unlike america which has its nos up everyones ass so yeah. but studies like that contradict themselves and are stupid like 70 percent of accidents happen in the bath room come toilet tow rack and a bath tub plus slippery floor = accident. then kitchen is 25 percent obvious sharp utensils such as knuves, forks, and insanely hot objects stove, oven so yeah.

I gotta say I find these groups of people very easily offended, way too easily offended. Like that teacher that they wanted to lock up in jail and kill JUST because she allowed 1 of her students to name the class pet after their god.

Race has some serious issues atm with violence and just plain stupidty of what Mirmir said, plain over-reacting. It is very sad, but they look for any point to call out the "racist card". Attention seekers, IMO they need to get the **** back to their own country because they wouldnt get the benefit's or the "I want this ..." to happen. So I think it's a piss take they come to our country and take everything.

I can kind of see what he means though, like when people go crazy because someone used the word "gay" as a negative adjective, even if they did not mean it as gay = bad, so bad thing = gay. If a group of people can be prejudiced against, then someone will complain when somebody says something "non-PC".

Isn't that generalising a bit? A lot of people from other countries probably don't really care that much, but people here can sometimes make so much effort to be politically correct that such overreactions happen.
