Omfg. This series is amazing. Anyone seen it? It's by studio Gonzo.
Trying to escape his uneventful life, Albert, the son of a renowned general from Paris, makes a journey with his friend Franz. During his travels, he meets an immensely wealthy nobleman named The Count of Monte Cristo. Living in luxurious hotels, surrounded by beautiful women and strong bodygaurds, the charming but enigmatic count fascinates Albert. Albert invites the count to join the high society of Paris. However, unknown to Albert, his father had once framed the count and took the count's fiancee as his own.
^that is just a simple summary of the plot, but obviously it is actually much deeper than that.
The animation is amazing, with colourful and detailed textures in everything, even in the characters' clothing (it might take some getting used to at first).
It's a very mature political story, not the usual "main character plow his way through the enemies of the day". I highly recommend it, definitely 1 of the best series I have seen.
(Though I'm still a little pissed cause my favourite characters always freaking die and this series is no exception. lol)
