I'm surprised noone's made a thread about this series considering it's quite popular, and a second season has recently started. =x

he Empire of Britannia has invaded Japan using giant robot weapons called Knightmare Frames. Japan is now referred to as Area 11, and its people the 11's. A Britannian who was living in Japan at the time, Lelouch, vowed to his Japanese friend Suzaku that he'd destroy Britannia. Years later, Lelouch is in high school, but regularly skips out of school to go play chess and gamble on himself. One day, he stumbles on terrorists 11's who've stolen a military secret and is caught by a member of the Britannian task force sent after them, who is Suzaku. As the rest of the squad arrives, Suzaku is shot for disobeying orders, while the military secret, a young girl, gives Lelouch the power of Geass, which makes anyone obey any order. While Suzaku is secretly made the pilot of Britannia's brand new prototype Knightmare, Lancelot, Lelouch becomes the masked Zero to lead the rebellion to destroy Britannia once and for all.

At first I cringed at how the characters' legs & arms & waists look like sticks, and how it seems a bit exaggerated (hi2u mecha on wheels, hi2u masked hero with cape), but after getting past those first impressions I like the series quite a lot. The main character is very clever (often compared to Light from Death Note) and although I can see a few plotholes and compared to DN it's a bit more chaotic, I recommend this series. Great characters (<3 C.C  ) with very different views but the same goal.

Watched the first series, haven't looked at the second series yet buuuut since I finished all the current Anime I been watching I might start on it <___>

The art style is quite um... interesting, I can't remember who the storyline is by but the art is by CLAMP which explains why it's sooooo... odd? But the storyline is pretty good, got a couple of twists and stuff, the end of the first series made me and my friend /facepalm though D:
Suppose I should watch the 2nd series to see where it goes xD And for more mechs on rollarskates...

Kind of.

I never got around to finishing watching the first series, I kinda lost interest/had more important things come up. Once I've finished watching Shakugan no Shana, though, I might get around to watching this.

Good series i watched the first 10 episodes after that i had a hard time to get ahold of the rest of the series.
I loved the story because the main character isn't a guy who can pilot a big robot or is gonna fight with his bear hands but is good at being a stratagist and ofc with his mindcontrol powers.
I am watching the 2nd season and i still love it and hopefully it wil be easy to get ahold of and not what happend with the 1st season.

You'll probably have to torrent for it, it's been lisenced by Bandai so most online video sites won't host it any more.

EDIT: Could always try the fansubs website and see if they have any ddl, off the top of my head I think Eclipse subbed Code Geass series 1.
