It IS a RPG, after all^^
I love Persona 3, it has a fresh and interesting concept, cool and very sweet characters and pretty great graphics and sountracks. My favourite character is Aigis, because she is just soooooo cute X3
Does anybody else now SMT: Persona 3?

I heard really good things about it, tempted to pick up a copy off amazon or something some time, probably have more luck with that then buying it in store ;x

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 is, at this moment in time, my favorite video game. It may soon lose its place, however, to SMT: Nocturne, a predecessor as far as chronologically-based filing would go.
All in all, P3 is a much darker RPG than others, and for many good reasons. After all, unless you power level ridiculously, you are going to have to rely on a Persona during battle, and guess how you summon one? You put a gun to your head and pull the trigger; well, not a real gun, but it's close enough, considering the psychological view of it. Not just that, but this game also- at a later point in the story- deals a lot with the prospect of dying. I will not go into detail, simply to avoid spoiling key plot points, but this game is most certainly one of the more serious RPG's to play.
I highly recommend that some people try it out, though you may have better luck finding the newly (or recently, I suppose would be more correct) released director's cut of this installment, otherwise known as "Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES". It costs thirty dollars new- in America anyway- but it may be a little hard to find in stores right now, so, unfortunately, any seekers may have to dish out additional money to purchase it online.
Well, even with that in mind, I would suggest that any real RPG fan should try this one for a spin. It's a nice mixture of RPG dungeon crawling, a sim-style life that revolves around a high school student, and a dark plot that revolves around the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad, or SEES for short. I highly recommend this game.

The plan is to buy this once I've finished my exams. That's next saturday, so soon :D
This game looks brilliant! Sadly I won't be buying any new games for a while yet; but when I will be able to again this will be one of the first on the list to get. I love dark RPGs with a mature story and this looks like it offers exactly that.

Tharrick-
I hope you get the chance to get your copy, my friend. When I originally sought out the original copy of P3, I found it used at a game store for fourty dollars with none of the bonus material or even game manual lol. If I had bought it from ebay, it would have been anywhere from fourty to seventy- though it also would come with all the artwork and soundtracks.
Mirae-
I can say the same to you as what I said to Tharrick. I wish you good luck, but, if you like RPG's with a darker storyline, I suggest this, obviously, but also Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. If you want details on this one, PM or add me to MSN and I'll tell you what I've seen so far.

Well, given that it's vanished from amazon.co.uk, and out of stock in game.co.uk, I ordered it from play.com for £23.50, where it's in stock with the Play Traders.
I shall just have to not open the box until next Saturday.

Oh my! I finally got my hands on a copy of this game, well the director's cut of it: Fes. I'd say those Japs that made the game are absolutely GENIUS! This is an amazing game. The school actually feels like a school from a few animes I have seen and the characters are wow, GREAT so far. Although I prefer Mitsuru-san at the moment, I just love how she just takes over. Yukari is definitely someone I do relate to though but maybe not as peppy as she is XD
But this game is a definite must try and its really creative too. Its definitely not the traditional RPG I'm use to. It does however remind me a little of the ./hack series though.
Only thing I can complain about is how sometimes the day goes by a little fast (you choose to do something and boom it takes up like the rest of the afternoon, its crazyness), and woow not a fan of the rappy music they play either :p
I really hope that everyone who is still looking for this game, finds one - its worth playing!! Good luck :]

If I were to write all the things that I like about FES i would never finish writing!
that is why I will write the things I don't like about it: . . .sorry no comments found
Persona 3 is not a JRPG it is the JRPG, combining both combat with the whole school life sim just makes the game all the better and the story, well I have one word to describe it, EPICCCCCCCCCCCC
when you get this game you will never be able to put it down, it has an incredible long storyline as well as one of the most original cast anyone will ever see in a game!
I know this, I put over 50 hours into the game and im still probably not half done!

I can say Amen to that!
What I just don't understand why a lot of people are freaked about when you summon a Persona, you pull the trigger of an evoker to your head. A lot of people mistaken it and think its more of a gun, its not a gun, its a persona summoning tool! Besides, if it WAS A GUN, wouldn't your head be blown off!! I really just don't get it XD

It is because America's ESRB is built of a bunch of people who think any dark video game is something to do with the occult, and they thought that putting a gun to your head must have made them think, SATANIC CULTS!!! TEENAGERS SHOOTING THEMSELVES!!! ONOZ!!!!!!!! and that is why it is rated M in the US and like 13+ in so many other countries. . .

Yes, I really don't see it as an M lvled game (So far lol). Yes it has violence, but what video game doesn't XD? Even for the Sims 2, it says that there is violence....just...WOW. lol
So strict :p
This game seems to interesting so far. The Grim Reaper scares me though O.O I left my game on pause (I just let my characters standing on some platform staircase spot) and then I looked over my screen - half of my characters were KOed!! It was scary lol... Is it possible at all to beat the Grim Reaper? Ohhhhh and there was a part in the game, don't want to give too much details but like it reminded of the Anime, Hell Girl (how its set up...Gossip Girls were talking about it in the front gates) but yeaaaah freaaaky. And I am also wondering if I allow my characters to split up and they attack on their own and kill them, are they getting exp for it.. I know in the book it says its best to use the split up option if you want to strengthen the party but are the other members getting it?
*Fly High to the Sky*
~AngelicWings~
For the split up party thing, it is the member who kills the shadows that gets the EXP, meaning if you alone beat three shadows you only get the exp, if Yukari alone beat all the shadows she gets all the exp! And yes there is a way to defeat the reaper but you have to have one POWERFUL party. Even in the upper 90s it is said to be hard, my friend beat the reaper by spamming the special ability Armageddon (Lucifer and Satan fusion attack) but I don't have either Satan or Lucifer yet so I haven't tried it myself. . . .

Alright thank-you! I did think that about the whole split up party gaining experience, I just wasn't sure because I have been stuck on the same lvl. Oh wow, I thought I over leveled myself but then I realized that I am like low on money so I had to go to the place just to get Yen, oh bleh XD I didn't even buy all the armor I wanted! And its Exams this week (in the game lol) >< I am probably going to be behind on going to Tartarus. Boo, I seem to be getting the worst of luck!
