I'm finally planning on getting Final Fantasy XI, since a friend of mine got it too know. But I dunno if I'm gonna play it right away. Since the game is getting rare here it's best to get it before nowhere available anymore...
But I have a question: Since I and my parents don't have a credit card, I'm gonna do it via ePassPorte, but I have no idea how it goes then. So, does anyone here has experience on how ePassPorte works?
Good to know you are getting FFXI (come on Fenrir! :D). Anyways, this ePassporte card will vertually allow you to top it up via a direct debit or other means and pay to play Final Fantasy XI.

I think it is safe, as it has the https which usually indicates strong security...
- You send money to the address provided when you sign up for your card. It tells you on the website how to send money.
- The card stores the money you've sent to it.
- it's international, meaning just about anyone can use it.
It might help you if you simply take a look, it doesn't cost anything and won't jeopardise you for signing up, it won't take any money from any account since you send your money via such things ie. a cheque.

Join the LS on remora ziddy, and i use Epassporte, basically its a virtual visa, you send money to an account that you get set up, they convert euros into dollars etc, and you can use this virtual visa pretty much ANYWHERE that accepts visa, since it is recognised by the visa company.
Class, our own Admin of HHN is going on FFXI :D Classy =D Come to Fenrir! Thats where me, Mirae, Grae, Aeyze, Sephioverlord and Firnwath are =P I thought Arcana joined Fenrir as well,'least thats what Firnii told me =P

Zids, just so you know, when you have created a character it will ask you to specify a world (should you not type in anything in that field, you will be dumped on a random server), type eg. Fenrir (with the capital letter) and then the password I am going to send you (that is, if you want to come on this server).

Yeah, when you do get to fill in your name, Server and World pass(Just like Mirae said), then you just Type it in first now, and then you press Enter =P That was my mistake first time, I pushed Enter first XD So you know, when you get to that bit, just type it in and press enter =P No need to press enter on forehand =P You'll know what I mean once you get to it =P
Oh yah, just on forehand and for tries, here's a small sample thing on creating your character, so you might see a design that might interest you:

Yes ofcourse, I understand XD I have school as well, and the following two years coming are hard work for me since I cant slack off =P But on forehand Ziddy, check if your system is compatible with FFXI by downloading the Benchmark, see if it runs okay:

I've tried that, and sometimes it runs slow (when there's a lot of activity), but FFXI should work, cause the minimum specs for CPU are 800 Mhz, and I've got Pentium 4 2.2 Ghz, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Tell me when you have installed the game Zids (which will take a while at first haha XD *comforts*), and I will get you a WP as soon as you want it :D

Still waiting on getting the ePassPorte details. The FAQ says it will take 3 business days, and this is the 3rd business day...
sometimes it takes a little longer, i had to wait a week at first.

I received the ePassPorte details this morning, and luckely I have the afternoon off from work (network server crashed), so now I'll register at PlayOnline and starting to update FF11.
good luck with waiting around 5 hours on downloading updates.

My problem is HOW MUCH the fee asks... I mean, for me, they ask like $13-15 a month... thats a nuts price, so I planned on forehand when I am quitting FFXI =P Its far off but yes =P

Why do they ask that much and not just $12,95 a month like it says on the site and etc.? Cause then I dunno how long I'm gonna do this...
I'm a Elvaan Red Mage and the kingdom I choosed is San D'oria, so I'll see you there, hopefully.
they do charge $12.95 each month, an extra $1 for each extra content id you buy and for tetra master, they are optional.

My character name is Ziddy and I'm on the Fenrir server. Thanks to Tsuji for giving me a world pass. I'm a Level 5 Red Mage now. Still doing the 1st mission, slay an orc and bring his axe.
Also a friend of mine is on the same server, his name is Zorgan.
I'll look out for both you and Zorgan, you need to get linkpearls to Waffles, both of ya.
Also if you need help with any missions or whatever, ask me, myy character name is Ueda, and I am willing to help at anytime with anything if you need it.

This is an item that allows you to come onto the Server that me and Aeyze are on, and Graeme and Ziddy are there too =P In other words, you'll be able to play with us actually in the game, if you are on our server =P If you are not on our server, you wont see us in game really at all XD Hence the world pass, which could put you onto our server, so you can play with us on FFXI =P
It's basically when you make a character, you pick their style.
Then you pick their nasme.
Then you can choose what worlds to go to
in that box you would type "Fenrir"
and in the next box enter the numbers we give you
and that will put you on our server

And from there you can choose the city you want to be a member of - Winhurst, San D'oria (spelling?) and Bastok. We're all from Bastok though xD

Well depending on the race you choose
Humes and Galka come from Bastok
Elvaan come from San d'Oria
Mithra and Tarutaru come from Windurst
Bastok is an industry powered capital. A nation born in the ashes of the bronze age, all stone and metal, the most modern of the 3 starting cities.
San d'Oria is like an old castle city, stone walls, knights in armour line the gates, it's a proud nation of warriors.
Windurst is a nature place, buildings made of wood and trees, lots of foliage and nice scenery. The place is renowned for it's magical aura.

Well, lets say you picked Windurst. Then you would be a Windurstian. Your Nation Salute will be different from that of Bastok and Sand'Oria, as you will also get different missions than what Bastok or Sandoria might get =P And as Mirae said, you get a different perspective in the storyline of FFXI =P

The secuirty at our school is intense, the firewall is set up on one main computer and you really cant get past it on the other computers, (because all options are disbaled i.e. control panel etc..)
Every FF/Gaming site I know is blocked..I can rarely get on forums

Races:
Originating from the Bastok region, Humes have spread to the farthest reaches of Vana'diel. I might get FFXI...it is the only Final Fantasy I do not own, because I've never been a fan of MMORPGs. On the other hand, I love FF and want to have them all (I am OFFICIALLY the Final Fantasy Expert at my school!!!!) So I think I'll get it if the price is right. What bugs me is monthly subscriptions...I don't wanna fork out an extra 30 a month for the privellidge of summat I've already paid for!

Yep, and first month is free trial period. When you trial period ends you pay the rest of the month. So, when your trail has ended on the 14th day of the month, you pay for 16 or 17 days. At the beginning of each month they will charge you. Making a new Content-ID (for making a new character) cost $1 / €0.86 / £0.57 a month.
Anyone knows if the ePassPorte thing works with paypal? Because I have 70 bucks in there and I really wanna be able to play this game financed completely offa my coding work :p

Did, and couldn't use paypal. Have to to some ghey transfer to another ones paypal account, then to their epassword account then using that account to load my epassword account.

Nah, and the point is I don't want to be pulling money out of my bank. Online money for online activities, lol.
