Simple question really. Do you prefer subbed anime, or dubbed anime?
Personally, I prefer dubbed. Most of the stuff I've seen is dubbed, but knowing about the whole editing of Naruto (if they do edit it), in those cases, I prefer dubs.
Subs. I HATE dubbing now. It's USUALLY cheesy american stereotypical voice actors. And note I say USUALLY, not always. I prefer a couple of my favourites dubbed, Hellsing for instance. Others, like Naruto, Bleach, DN Angel. .. I don't like them being dubbed or anything. I just think Japanese is the way they are meant to be. Subbing, so long as it is done correctly, is good for me. ^_^

I much prefer subs, because the japanese voice actors know what they're doing, which is far more than the yanks do.

I don't watch a lot of anime anymore, but from experience subtitles work much better. Not only do you not have to hear the annoying bloody Yank Voiceover, but if they're hardly understandable, it's nice to be able to read what's going on.

i like subs better than dubs.
Subs, definately. No need to explain why, xP.
I prefer dubs. Of course there are some HORRIBLE dubs out there too, but the animes I watch for some reason tend to have really good VAs...(like Full metal Panic, RahXephon, etc)
Some subtitles don't make sense sometimes. Like my .Hack//SIGN sub sucked, it was barely understandable, stuff like "I will walk through the middle of the earth" instead of "I will walk all over the world" if you get what I mean, barely understandable.

Subs, hands down. When I watch Anime in Japanese, it's just, like, a bajamakrillion times better. I'm not saying that it's bad when it's dubbed, because sometimes they actually DO do a good job on it...but I just enjoy a whole lot more when it's in Japanese.

Watching a japanese schoolgirl talking in a gruff american accent just doesn't do much for me ¬_¬ Subs all the way! :p

I also have to say that I prefer fansubs to official stuff, usually, because the quality is so much higher
I prefer subs, but as long as I get to see it I really dont care.
Dubs for me, the ones I came across were pretty well done =P I have a tendency on not liking subs too much really XD
I gotta say Subs - mainly cause I liked the japanese Hellsing voices. I wasn't keen on the english voices though ... ¬.¬

Depends what i'm watching. =)
Hellsing - Subs
Inuyasha - Both
Spiral - Subs
As long as I get to see it I dont mind, unless the dubbing is very very bad.
I hate dubbed stuff. I read pretty fast so subtitles are no problem for me. I prefer hearing people's original voices to what are often poorly done American ones.

Subs. Dubs make me laugh.
FMA dubbed is awful! I much prefer it subbed with the japanese voices... Same goes for Akira, Steamboy and Spirited away... Also live action is better subbed...
If you have a Dubbed DVD with subs, put on the subs, they're usually totally different to the dub... In spirited away they go on about the power of love, yet that isnt actually said anywhere in the dub!
Wah, Spirited Away is the WORST dubbed! "Don't talk to me, you will address me as Master Haku." Okay so it's not that bad, just a bit..stupid in comparison with the Japanese voices. Maybe it's just the way it's worded or something...
Subs, no question.
I like to watch Anime in it's original form, not how western producers want it to be like. The culture and influence of eastern tradition is very important in Anime and should be left alone and viewed as it was originally intended.

Don't watch a lot of Anime, only Naruto sometimes. But subbed is better then dubbed. I dunno how Naruto English voice actors sounds, but most of the time it's crap. Exception is DragonBall Z, it had good English voice actors.
subbed. naruto in the english version has a really scratchy voice that makes him sound really bratty and annoying. and alot of its changed so its crap.

I agree with you on the whole scratch naruto voice, but not on the changed stuff. Most of it is direct translation, even all the terms and stuff. sure dubs are bad because of the calture gap and the diffrent acsents, but i think there are a few that are good. I mainly download my anime subed though, I get it sooner and can do it legally, but I would rather have dubs, I miss alot of the actual anime because im too busy reading the subs.
Sub way beter cause i dont like seeing moth cause open clause and the guy is continuing to talk

Dubbed anime is too distracting. I'm too busy thinking about how bad the voiceovers are and not paying attention to the actual story XD
Ugh...dubs are generally terrible. Subs are just far superior...especially when the subbing group is really good, as they tend to explain certain jokes and customs that deal with the japanese culture. Plus, I get to pick up some japanese when watching subbed anime.
I didn't think dubs were ALL that bad but after watching an episode of Fullmetal Alchemist in English, i've changed my mind - they really do suck lol. I guess they just don't find any good voice actors or something O_o Maybe they just use some guy off the street xD. In the first episode of FMA, you see this character called Rose, she sounds so weird in English, like it doesn't match her appearance. And Al sounds like this little kid lol. Like literally he does, so weird.

I guess they just don't find any good voice actors or something
In Japan, a decent voice actor is idolised and has huge crowds of fans. In the USA, a decent voice actor is almost totally anonymous. So there's no incentive to be any good.

I'm guessing many people will have pointed this out but the best anime is fan-subbed since American dubbers have this HORRIBLE habit of changing scenes in episodes and the scripts!!!!!!!!!!!!
For the love of all that's good and pure WHY!!!!!!!!!!!

I like to have subtitles the second time I watch somethine, but the first time I'd rather have dubs. There's only one exception, Fruits Basket had very good dubs... at least to me... go Aya!

Thats also a good point.
Oh but I hated Momiji's voice! lol
Dubs aren't as bad as some people make it out to be, but I guess in some way they are worse than the normal Japanese voice actors. I've gotten used to the dubbed episodes of FMA (on TV that is, I could download.... but meh xP) and yeah. And some other animes aren't too bad either, liek Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex, that sounded alright and everything to me.
There are animes that have good dubs, like RahXephon, that had very good dub voice actors and ddidn't sound all kiddy like. It varies from anime to anime really...like in Fruits Basket, as mentioned, there was the VA of Momiji and it was very crappily done, very annoying sounding. >< In the sub though they had a VA that was unsuitable (imo) as well..it was supposed to be a guy (Yuki) but he sounded more feminine than the female main character. >_>
There's good and bad in both...dubs don't deserve all the bashing they get all the time either imo, there's a few good ones out there. xP

I think dubbed is better... it hard to watch scenes and read at the same time ayt... so it's better to listen and watch...:D
I definately like subbed better.
I don't really have the patience to have to read the subtitles of a show constantly throughout an episode without being able to pay much attention to what is actually going in on the background. I haven't been watching much Anime over the last few years so I suppose I ain't the most critical judge. I do understand that the story is much better in the original translation though, but I just can't tolerate watching dozens of episodes in subtitles. I'll just have to endure the half-decent dubs, then. I don't really know the difference since any show I watch is for the first time, so it's all new to me. Bring on the cheesiness and bad voice-acting! ;)

Subs! Most of the time the American voice over sucks!!!
But, it also depends on which you're used to.
If you first see the dubbed version, and then the origional version with subs, you might think "IEW ><"
I had that with Gundam Wing :/

actually it depends on what i watch say if i watched something dubbed on t.v then i would watch that all the way through the anime in dubbed and then i watched it subbed it would be unusual
and if i watched it in japanese and subbed then watched it dubbed then it would be unusual like i watched naruto from ep 1 to 207 in subbed and i tried to watch it in english then i wouldn't like it because the voices are stupid and they can't pronounce stuff properly

Subs... There's nothing like the real voices. But I'd rather have no subs and no dubs at all...
