My review contains spoilers, as is usually the case with my posts so beware.
If there's one thing I can't stand, it's special effects. They don't always make a movie great, and this is true when it comes to Arnold Schwarzenegger's famous film, The Terminator. Arnold played the killer cyborg of the title, but in the sequels he was the hero. Here, he is a ruthless, violent and totally evil killer. After the success of this movie, big Arnold landed roles in many other major violent thrillers, including Raw Deal, Commando, Predator, Red Heat and Total Recall.
The Terminator looks cheap compared to the first sequel, which was the most expensive film ever made back in 1991, but for many fans like myself, this one remains the best out of the series. I wouldn't say it was cheap. That's harsh. I mean, the scene where he takes his eye out over a sink looked extremely grime, painful and realistic to me.
Linda Hamilton made Sarah Connor a strong and mature lady. Michael Biehn also did a fine job as Kyle Reese, the young soldier who was sent back to Los Angeles in 1984 for two highly important reasons. His two goals were to protect Sarah and the other one was to have sex with her so that John Connor, the last hope for the humans in 2029, could be born. I think James Cameron really enjoys working with actors like Bill Paxton, Michael Biehn and Lance Henriksen because all of them were in Jame Cameron's other classic movie, Aliens.
