Fads

Everybody has them in their lives. When I was a younger teenager, I used to collect Pokémon merchandise and the little toys you got free with cereal. I've always been fond of lots of things. I know mobile phones are a huge craze these days. So what kind of fads have you been through? :P

That weird fad where you got those aliens in those eggs, that one was weird... I knew a guy who sniffed that goo stuff and then collapsed... fool... solvent abuse!

the current fad I think is that indie rock music... which is quite cool if you give it a chance, I picked up the Killers album today, and love it... great bass riffs. Indie Rock has great bass riffs actually... fun :D

OMG everybody wears west coast and orange coast choppers shirts now. I hope thats a fad. Is it? Its so flippin annoying. Hrm. My fad.....hrm......im poor.

I hate fads. I was one of the firsts to have the Biggie and Pac shirts, now every loser has one.

My second school was fad central, I hardly see them at all nowadays at school. But ones that I really remember where
- Those damn yo-yo's and the tricks and all that
- Pokemon cards - they got bacnned at my school eventually after fights broke out
- Finger skateboards - what on earth was up with those? o_o

Those've already been mentioned, my school had a paper airoplane fad too xD Throwing them off the top of the library stairs, I remember doing that got banned too.

Oh god, every school had a paper aeroplane fad, those rocked the boat though, lovely paper aeroplanes, I'm pretty good at making ones that fly good and high.

Pokemon Cards (I'll trade you my Charizard for your Dark Charizard? NO GO AWAY GET AWAY FROM ME MY CARDS GAHHHH!!!) I liked those cards, I got lots of shineys.

Yoyos, I love yoyos still, whenever I get one can't help bustin out with Man On The Flying Trapese or The Baby's Cradle

At my school(s) we had fads for:

-Yoyos
-Pokemon cards
-Digimon THINGS.. *Shrugs* Didnt like that one
-Cats Cradle (If you dont know what that is, its like a big piece of string you play with with a partner and see how many patterns you could get, but these got banned at my school when people started strangling each other...
-Football stickers. I HATED them, but they were around anyway, blahh...
-Pogs... I loved my pogs!
-Conkers!!!!!!! <3
-Alien's in a bubble. I ate that bubble stuff... I think its what made me go odd...

I LOVED them!!! ^_^ They were soooo cool!!! though they also got banned from my school too! I had a penguin one.. A PENGUIN!! :D

OMG, like back in my primary school there were heaps of fads, some I often "followed" or rather... "liked", but hey this was when I was like mostly when I was in Grade 2 - 4 (and maybe 5).
- Pokemon Cards (banned cause some guy stole like a sh*tload off my friend's brother)
- Yu-Gi-Oh or Yugimon Cards (as I like to call it. That didn't last too long either, I played for about a year. Though most kids didn't even know the rules and just made them up or copied the show)
- Chip Packet "Items"(Like when you get a packet of chips, not as in fries, but the other chips, you often get some "item". Like one was this Dragonball Z circle cardboard, some were different "colours" and had a picture of some character with a power level - I had like so many "golds" and several "fluros" - Had all the normal ones. Wow I sound so sad, xD. Though I got them off my dad's friend who works at factories and he got alot for me, lol. There were also Pokemon ones, Beyblade ones!"
- Beyblades (I played like in Grade 3 - 4, they got banned eventually but some how "came back" when I was in Grade 6)
- Digimon Tamigotchies

How are mobile phones a fad? I guess some people buy nice-looking ones and ones with all these features to look cool or something, but most people I know including me just buy them so like I can keep in contact with people and vice-versa (like if i'm at the shops (or mall if you want) my mum can keep in contact with me and stuff). Oh and maybe like... bands like Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, Green Day (though I like them) and some other bands are like fads, lol.

um.. I think that's the only Fad I've ever really paricipated in. I hate name brand cloths and I've never collected any other type of card or toy. We do have the Entire Hercules Plate set from Mcdonalds but that's me mum.

I'm not sure of any fads...I mean yeah YGO cards but I realized I was getting ripped off.So I decided when I am the king of the world,to kill the bloody Hindus who were ripping me off.

And yeah "Glamourous Indie Rock 'n' Roll" sucks on the album... but MEH!
