i think it was a mediocre game, it had a nice story and great graphics that still are current, but i think the battle system was a little boring and the story was a little too religious. but i do like the idea of blitzball, and al bhed language was interesting to learn, i say ffx was an okay game. i would give it an 8/10.

what do you think about ffx?

The graphics were great. The battle system wasn't too bad.

Unfortunately, they're the only bits I actually liked in the whole game.
I hated the characters, I hated the voices of the game (mostly because you couldn't skip through quickly like you could in previous games - that damned emo scene just before Seymour Flux, I saw it about 5 times and I was damned sick of it the second time through). I didn't much like the storyline, I absolutely despised blitzball, thought the whole 'learn the al bhed language' thing was just crap.

Square have done much better before.

Story=7/10
Graphics=10/10
Battle System=8/10
Overall=8/10

Ya, I think it was awesome, but the story kinda' seemed to cinematic for me, you know? I didn't feel like I was playing. It was more like, pressing a couple of buttons and then watching a movie, and then pressing some more buttons, and watching another cutscene, so on... But yeah, besides that, it was awesome. Oh! And I thought it was too short.

well i agree, it seemed more like a movie than anyhting else. the battle system wasnt very great, all you had to do was hold down x and you could win. and i hated that fact that everyone could learn everyone elses moves, it took out the need for having so many charater is you could just make 3 powerful characters with all the skills you ever needed.

but the graphics were amazing and the music was pretty good. but the story didnt hold up very well. it was just one sob story after another, even though i know what they storymaker tried to make us feel about them (the characters) he could have done it much better.
i would give the game an overall C+

By far the best thing about this game is the graphics. The voice overs were nice, but I detested the main characters voice actors. Epecially Yuna's, what's up with all the pauses and everything? Maybe she's easily amused.

Yuna: Tidus...I
Tidus: Whats up?
Yuna: I.... Oooh, something shiny *distracted*

I thought the cinematics and all the locations in the game were beauifully rendered. If you ever see the walkthrough book for FFX by piggyback (I think that's the name of the company that made it, not 100% sure) Then pick it up and flick through, it has concept art of the game and it's beautiful. (I think the locations featured in the game are one of the high points, they're original and bold and I love them xD ) The battle system was good, I liked the fact that you could switch in and out characters, allowing them all to get experience points, and the fact that Tidus (the main character) Didn't have to be in your party 24/7 (I liked this a lot, in all the other games my main character tends to get sky high levels compared to the others ._.)
Creatures/NPCs/monsters etc designs were amazing ~ again something to do with the superb use of the new PS2 engine I'm sure.

Down points... the main characters weren't all that interesting or lovable ~ I'd much rather play a main character lik Zidane from FFIX then Tidus from FFX x_x And as previousy mentioned, Yunas voice annoyed me. Storyline was pretty good, but I would've liked it to be longer ; ; It seems like they condensed everythng down and getting through the actual game was much quicker then any other FF's I've played. I liked the game, I really do, but I think they could've done so much better. For one thing, I wold've loved it if they'd extended the story arc with Auron, Braska and Jeckt's travels, like they did in FFVIII with Laguna and co. Oh, and yhe ending still makes me cry =/

EDIT: Please excuse bad typing, Im using my laptop atm and I'm not that gewd at typing properly on it ; ;

I think FFX was brilliant, I think its my second most favourite FF really :P Graphics were really good, and the gameplay really appealed to me alot =P Characters developed nicely as well, so that was a deffinite + for me, and the storyline I could easily bear with, I didnt mind the religious theme of it at all =P Blitzball was very fun in my opinion, though learning the Al Bhed language wasnt very attractive to me, yet I was always trying to unravel what the Al Bhed were trying to say all the time, so it wasnt all negative either =P But, one small negative thing about it was that it was just slightly a bit too short, so overall I give it a 9/10 on that :P

i liked this game but it did have some weak areas, mainly the main character tidus, and the sphere system, and how easy it was to defeat sin when your on the airship, for something that destroyed all the major cities on spira and killed millions it was a bit of a push over. also it felt linier, you just wondered along a path from one place to another, kill boss, walk to the next place, get aeon from temple, and repeat, guess i just miss wondering around aimlessly on the world map.

i liked blitzball, and the weapon customize ability, part i liked the most was the battle system, the enemy didnt keep attacking when you were making your choices so i didnt have to keep using basic attack and i liked some of the overdrives and how some changed if you play diferent, (interaction with different party members changed who throws tidus the ball for his blitz ace overdrive). also how the aeons take your place instead of just showing up, do their thing, then go. finding al bhed language was a bit annoying looking for them all and the first time through having no idea what half the npc's say but thankfully you can just load it from another save game next time you start over so i guess thats a plus

I liked FFX, I thought it was a pretty good, it was the second FF I had played first was FF7.

The whole religion idea, I thought was really good, I haven't seen it in any other games i've played so it was pretty original for me. Especially to see that practically everyone followed it down to the core, apart from Tidus who pretty much didnt understand jackshit about it XD. And how it twisted so the blitzball victory sign was now the praying sign for Yevon.

I found the battle system excellent, I thought it was better than FF7's. I liked being able to use aeons to defend your party, it would of been pretty hard without them though XD. But it had major flaws such as, the dark aeons were soo much more powerful than Sin. Why couldn't they use the dark aeons to destroy sin, I mean Valeforand Ifrit were controlled by people.

I didn't like the spheregrid or blitzball, I thought blitzball was way too hard for a mini-game. The spheregrid I thought was lame because every character could learn the same skills, each character should of had it's own spheregrid to make the characters more original, cause really Lulu could be as strong as Auron in physical attack by the end of game, when Lulu is suppose to be a black mage, thought that was pretty lame >__>.

I hated Yuna, sooo much in this game it was like she would say something then apoligise for it, and there was some parts were you just wanted to shoot Tidus because he was just a moron XD.

The weapon customizing was a good idea too, but could be annoying when you wanted more than 4 slots XD. Al bhed idea was also good, gave you something else to do apart form running through each city type thing.

I'd probably have to agree with everything Kaede said, expect for maybe the part about Yuna, she didn't annoy me as much as Tidus, and Tidus didn't even really annoy me until the second/third time playing the game. The one thing I hated was not being able to skip events. There should etheir be an option to skip when you pause like in FFX-2 or something like Star Ocean 3 where you can set it to ask you if you want to skip before every event. The best parts about the FFX battle system was:

a) being able to control your aeons and fight with them instead of them just coming, doing their main attack and then leaving like in every other FF game i'v played.
b) being able to switch your characters in battle. I hated not being able to use all my characters in battles or only being able to switch them when at save point/world map.

Graphics-10/10
Storyline-10/10
Battle System-9/10
Overall-10/10

Final Fantasy X was great.The plot twists are what made it cool.Seymour,(The one who looks like a poof and has a face you'd love to hit :D),asked Yuna to marry him! Sick pervert :D.She was only 17,and how old was he? 27? 10 years older!
Anyway,to get back on topic,FFX had a great battle system,with cool abilities as such.Graphics were nothing short of excelent,the FMV's are what I loved the most about FFX.The characters were great too.Except Tidus.I still think his voice was done by a female(even though it's not :) ).He is the poofiest male character to ever grace the Final Fantasy series(That's what I think).Overall,it's a great game.I still don't think it's better than Final Fantasy IX though.FF9 owns all! :D

Best of the PS2 ones so far, but not on par with PS1 FFs. I think they spent too much time on the graphics and not enough on the story which was pretty weak.

I agree that al bhed is fun to learn and blitz was fun to play... and the battle system wasn't bad... it's more real because you could use every character in a battle...

Tidus

well, actually i loved the game, it was soooo kool, the characters rocked, and there was (not like other FF) notorious interest between yuna and tidus, like, ya knew something between them would happen...and it DID, so, not like other FF that ya pray that something happen and it ends xD, hehehe, too i like the story and the skill style...i really liked everything, a long game so kool, and not easy but if ya know how to play its not impossible so it has everything...:)

I think that its one of the greats in the finalfantasy series you can' t ask for a better game but Finalfantasy X-2 let it down quite alot apart from that its a top class game

Well, it's an RPG. Would you rather it be any different?
The cutscenes weren't that bad at all. Did you know that there is only a little over 5 hours of recorded dialogue? (At least I think that's what the walkthrough said)
Too short? You can play for 100 hours and still not have everything completed in the game. My first run through took 50 hours, then after that it was from 32-40 hours. How is that too short? Kingdom Hearts is only around 20. Is that too short as well?

I think people overanalyze it too much. lol Then again, this is one of my favorite games, so maybe I'm being a little defensive of it. :P

don't have much to say about it, but i think i was the best ff game i ever played then again it was FFX that opened my eye to the RPG world
