Chrono Trigger

Has anyone ever played Chrono Trigger? It was an old game made by Square for the Super Nintendo, they made a remake a long time ago for the Playstation with better graphics. That one comes with Final Fantasy 3 or 4 I think. Well if you have played it, post what you think about it here.

Yeah, this game is a classic RPG. I love it!

For those who have beat it, or close to beating it, did you decide to kill Magus or have him join you?

I've only beat it a few times, though. So I have only seen a couple of the available endings.

I played it a couple of times but everytime I didn't finish the game. It's one of the best SNES games I've played. Might start a new game again sometime...

I love Chrono Trigger! It was such a awesome and fun game to play! I had it on my computer, I got pretty far but I got rid of the emulator.

Chrono Trigger was one of the best Role Playing Games of the ninety's, but I never could beat it.

I too belive CT is a rpg classic I played it and I loved everything gameplay, great story and music one thing though is that I played it so many times but everytime I never finished it mostly because I erased the emulator or rebooted my computer, but yes I love CT.

I haven't played it but heard lot about it and I played CC but getting kind of hard to find it only found once and someone grabbed just before I could get and that made mad now I can't find it were I go and check once in while at gamestop and EBgames but still no luck so proably won't get it for while.

I played it when I bought FF chronicals since it came with. It's acually a good game. Plus I 've always wanted to play the "prequel" to chrono Cross (my favorite RPG) I didn't beat it though.

Ive played Chrono Trigger and im nearly at the end, its the best SNES game ive ever played, it has a nice battle system, great graphics, really good music(sets the mood perfectly) and the gameplay and story are what makes the game excellent:D

honestly though, IMO the best RPG of all time. Square made a extremely witty/funny RPG with great graphics, lovable characters, and dual/triple techs? :O... tooo original :D

in my opinion, its the best rpg game ever made.... the history is amazing... 13 differente ends... chars that can make everbody happy... one to heal, one to fisical atack, one to magic, and goes on... i was thinking if square wasnt going to make a new one... chrono cross was good, but trigger was better....
i hope they make a new one when ps3 comes out

Chrono Trigger was a fine old Snes game. I wouldn't say the PSOne version had any graphical improvements as it was more or less a direct port. Indeed, it did have some fancy Anime sequences added into it, but the gameplay visuals remained the same. The best looking version of Chrono Trigger that I have come across is actually one played on an emulator which was ported to the Xbox, and you can put it in HDTV mode. The text looks draw-droppingly awesome, as do the characters. Now don't get too excited, it's basically the same but there are noticeable differences.

Anyhow, I do favour the Snes version (on Xbox when applicable.) due to it being a lot faster, and the music sounding much better, but you can't beat the fantastic Anime movies that pop up on the PSOne version from time to time... They're great. The 'time traveling' element was impressive, and thus the story was well written. I don't care too much that the creators went for the 'Mute Hero' angle, but it would be nice if Crono spoke his mind from time to time. ;)

It's a shame that all the Chrono Trigger ports were effectively killed by Square-Enix...they were only made in fun for the fans, and no profit would have been made... Chrono Resurrection was one of the best such projects I have witnessed... The Kingdom of Guardia never looked so good...

It's a shame that all the Chrono Trigger ports were effectively killed by Square-Enix...they were only made in fun for the fans, and no profit would have been made... Chrono Resurrection was one of the best such projects I have witnessed... The Kingdom of Guardia never looked so good...

Yeah, that was a shame indeed. I reported about the remake being discontinued by Square Enix some years back.

i never played CT... but it is cheap and easy to get... is the battle anything like chrono cross? since i'm getting close to beating CC, i'm looking for a new game to get. obviously, i've seen only great reviews for it.
